Chapter 3: Cultivation
After they ate, Feng Wei and his parents decided to talk more in their living room about what he plans to do. "I want to make a sect." Stated Feng Wei very clearly. "Now before you make any attempt to dissuade me you need to understand why I am going to do this." Said Feng Wei as he looked into his parents worried eyes.
"I am making a sect so that I will have a force under me. After all there is a limit to what one, or three, people can do. There is strength in numbers and I can already supply many people with cultivation resources."
"How did you get enough resources to supply many people? What did you do? Quickly tell us!" Feng Li commanded with a worried tone.
"ROB gave me the resources. Don't ask anymore questions, you are not ready." Feng Wei said directly. "Also I already have a candidate in mind for some disciples I can have for the sect. You both will be the great elders of the sect!!" He said excitedly while spreading his arms out.
"Great elders has a nice ring to it, and I will not ask any more questions about the resources if you say we are not ready. However, if you will make a sect we need to start cultivation immediately, so where do we start?" Feng Liu asked very confusedly.
Feng Wei began to explain the basics of cultivation to his parents before making a stack of hundreds of books appear out of thin air. He told his parents to read the books to understand more and when they finish reading everything he will give them the next level of books.
Feng Wei's parents were upset at first at their son not telling them anything about how the books appeared, but they chose not to ask anything as that is what he wanted. Instead they asked "how could we remember all of this? There are so many books here and even if we read them all we will not remember even half of it." Both of Feng Wei's parents asked in unison while looking at their son expecting him to help.
"Here, eat these pills. They will give you a perfect memory so that you can remember everything in the books, and they even have no side effects." Said Feng Wei "anyways, I will start cultivating when you finish reading those I will give you the next set of books."
After saying that Feng Wei left and went back into his room. 'I should figure out some more things about the sect such as the cultivation techniques, rankings, name, and many other things. That can wait though I finally get to cultivate! What cultivation technique should I use? It has to be a heaven defying technique for my first!' Feng Wei began to think deeply about what his first cultivation technique would be.
'Heaven's Will, Great Sword Dao, White Jade Empress, Green Elephant, Dragon Slaying Sage, Zenith Path, Demon Incarnate, I have so many cultivation techniques but I think this comes down to either Heaven's Will or Zenith Path as those two are the best. Heaven's Will is a combination of everything under the heavens. Zenith Path is a method that can make anyone reach the zenith of their potential. Even though Zenith Path seems great I will go with Heaven's Will as it looks more well rounded and may even improve my talent. Although I wished for peak talent there could be something above only ROB knows.'
After picking his cultivation technique Feng Wei started cultivating. He began by trying to pull the qi surrounding him into his first meridian. This was an easy step and he managed to fill up his first meridian in an hour thanks to his talent. The next step was to break through, Feng Wei started breaking through by mobilizing all the qi in his meridian to break apart the barrier before his second meridian.
This also proved an easy task as Feng Wei completed it first try. 'I feel so powerful already, I can only imagine how much power those at the top have. I must cultivate diligently so that they can't kill me on a whim.' He thought as he resumed cultivation.
As Feng Wei was cultivating his parents begun reading the books he left behind for them. The information in these books was on the very basics of cultivation from the qi gathering realm to the core formation realm; everything was included in these books. They were reading diligently and by the time Feng Wei finished breaking through into the second stage of the qi gathering realm they both had already read 10 books each!
They were both able to easily understand the contents of the books, proving that they also had some supreme talent like Feng Wei.
In the next five hours Feng Wei managed to break through into the fourth stage of the qi gathering realm while his parents had finished reading over half of the books! When Feng Wei broke into the fourth stage he left his room to check on his parents and was surprised by how much they had read.
"You guys read so quickly, I am afraid that you will finish all the books I will be giving you in a few days at most." Feng Wei said with a slightly dejected tone. He had spent three years simply reading books, and his parents were doing what would take him months in a few hours! Although he had to secretly read the books as he didn't want to be discovered he was still greatly saddened by this.
"Yeah, me and your mother need to diligently read if we are to be great elders. Great elders should have vast knowledge on everything after all." Feng Liu said as if it were the most normal thing in the world.
"Your father is right, to be great elders we need to be the best in everything." Said Feng Li not even looking up from the book to greet her beloved son. This alone shows how much she believes great elders need to be the best in everything.
"How is your cultivation going brat?" Feng Liu asked jokingly, feeling like his son should have already broken into the first layer of qi gathering. 'He should definitely be in the first layer at least knowing him there is no other way he would come out.'
"My cultivation is going rather smoothly, and I am already in the fourth layer of qi gathering." Feng Wei responded fully intending to surprise his parents.
"Wow the first layer? That's great you really are a geni– WHAT FOURTH LAYER?! You cheated you brat, you cannot cut corners when cultivating that is written in the books you made us read! I can't believe you've done this." Feng Liu said immediately assuming his son had cheated in his cultivation. After all, it is stated in the books that the qi gathering realm is a slow realm to get through.
