Chapter 2: Chapter 2: To Sail The Seas

"Are...we leaving now?", Celestiel asked, looking at Sebastian as she sat opposite him in the carriage.

"Yes"

Celestiel looked down. She was already leaving home? Well...technically, she was going to her new home...the home she would live the rest of her days. Her stomach churned uncomfortably at the thought.

"Hm? Why do you look so sad?," Sebastian chuckled lightly and Celestiel looked up at him, slightly lost in the sound of his laughter. He had taken his blazer off and unbuttoned the top buttons of his shirt, making him look wilder and more pirate like.

"I'm not sad, my lord...just slightly in shock of what's going on," Celestiel answered the king, half heartedly.

Sebastian smiled, running his hands through his thick, dark locks. "I'm aware you're not in support of this marriage....but I assure you, I won't mistreat you."

"I don't think you will, my lord...," Celestiel began but stopped speaking abruptly when Sebastian leaned towards her. She gulped nervously, staring into his one black eye.

"Do you now, Celestiel?, " he asked, his eye narrowing down at her. "You've heard stories about me, have you not?"

"I-I have...but I hardly find them true...," Celestiel stuttered, flustered at the closeness they shared.

Sebastian cut her off. "They are all true, my lady, every single one of them."

Celestiel shut her mouth and stared at him, not knowing what to say. Did he mean to scare her?

"I do not intend to scare you," Sebastian replied to her thoughts. "But I do not mean to decieve you either. You should know the kind of man you have married."

Celestiel nodded. "I understand."

"Good," Sebastian nodded, satisfied. "We do not love each other but nevertheless, I'll treat and respect you as my wife."

That was the problem. Celestiel didn't want a marriage where she couldn't love her husband or where her husband didn't love her back. That happened to her mother, she fell in love with a man who didn't love her and she had to live in pain, watching the man she loved marry another woman and she was treated with so much disrespect until the day she died. Celestiel didn't want that for herself. She didn't ask for much...she just wanted to live a happy life.

A life with a man she adored and who adored her back. Was that alot?

"Come, we should leave," Sebastian called her out of her thoughts and Celestiel realised the carriage had stopped. They were at the docks already and Sebastian led her to his ship. Celestiel's eyes widened in absolute awe, she had expected a nice ship...but this! This was magnificent! It was huge, made with Calabran wood, the finest wood in all of the lands. The sails were huge and marked with the typical pirate symbol, the skull with bones crossed below it.

"Meet your crew," Sebastian spoke to her, stepping onto the ship and offering his hand to her. Celestiel took it, carefully stepping onto the ship, careful not to dirty her wedding dress. Sebastian noticed this and slightly frowned. "We need to get you more appropriate clothes, your dresses won't do, you're a pirate now."

He let go of her when he was sure she was stable then he turned to his crew and clapped twice, loud and clear. Immediately, the attention he seeked, was the attention he got.

When the crew noticed the woman standing beside their king in a wedding dress, they realised she was their King's bride and they all went down on their knees with a low bow.

"Welcome aboard, my lady," they chorused. Celestiel turned flustered, having never been shown this kind of respect by a mass group of people. She smiled awkwardly.

"Um..please, rise," she spoke and on her word, the crew rose and went back to their work. Celestiel glanced at Sebastian, a little surprised at the greeting and Sebastian was staring at his crew, satisfied with their behaviour.

"My lady! You're here!," Celestiel heard a familiar voice behind her. She turned to find Leonore and his twin brother, Reagan.

"Leonore, you're here," Celestiel spoke, staring at the twins and noticing that despite their resemblance, they seemed very different from each other.

"Yes, of course! I'm afraid I didn't properly introduce myself, I'm Leonore, quartermaster of the Sweet Lilian."

So that was the name of Sebastian's ship, Celestiel thought, glancing at Sebastian.

"And I'm the first mate," Reagan spoke with a respectful bow. Celestiel couldn't help but notice they were in their pirate clothes, their hair, disheveled and their swords, coated with specks of blood. Her eyes nervously flickered up to the twins, had they killed someone?

Celestiel didn't notice the dark look Sebastian gave the twins when he noticed the blood on their swords. He narrowed his eyes down before taking Celestiel's hand and turned her towards him.

"You must be tired, I'll show you to our room," he spoke and Celestiel nodded, turning away from the twins and the blood on their swords.

Sebastian led the lady down to the berth. And at the end of the hallway was a wooden door, seemingly different from the others they had passed to get there.

"Do you have a second mate?," Celestiel asked, glancing at the king.

"You'll meet everyone tomorrow," Sebastian smiled calmly as they entered the room. "You should sleep now, wife, we have a long day ahead of us tomorrow."

Celestiel nodded. Sebastian didn't want her to know something and honestly, she didn't want to know either. She watched him walk towards his desk and pick up his captain hat, he put it on and Celestiel had to admit he looked pretty good in it. He looked like a proper pirate.

"Goodnight, my lady," he smiled before walking out the door and shutting it.
