Chapter 7: Cheat
When emergency services arrived the boy was already down under but not dead. The young woman and truck driver were pulled in for questioning as Sion's body on a hovering stretcher was glided into the back of the medics van.
His school was contacted and his part time job as he laid in a well kept hospital room for the 5th time in a month. A new record, one that could probably put a smile on most assholes of the world. Sion's body was wrapped head to toe in bandages and parts of his body hung in mid air by small calibrated robot nurses.

He thought it was a bad dream, maybe a joke? But never the real deal. Looking up at the clean white ceiling and smelling that sanitiser and disinfectant he grimaced. He knew exactly where he was, Sion was never out of the hospital long enough to forget. But this time he'd really only done it to himself, he had no one else to blame on the reason he was in this bed wrapped up like some sad Halloween mummy.
Yet strangely he felt hardly any pain?

'Is that what that is-' not realising that there was a voice he suddenly sat up making the robot nurses sound an alarm of distress as his legs were not being held up no more. 'It was still here!?' The voice he thought was his torment from God was still in fact here! Granted he didn't die like he initially had accepted but he thought this voice was simply his imagination out of shock? Sion never suspected that this voice would still be present when he awoke- if he had awakened.

'What the hell was this!? Was this some kind of scam in his head? And why could he see it perfectly in front of him? Like some hologram? Cutting short his thoughts some nurses barged into his room in panic, Sion briefly forgot about the alarms the robot nurses were letting out.
"Mr Reeds! You should not be up! Your injuries-" cutting short a middle aged woman laid her hands on his chest in panic. Yet was shocked when her 'Second gender', a dog did not pick up on any problems by smell. Her face scrunched up in confusion as she was sure this patient under her care had intensive bleeding and external injuries. Being cautious she raised her hand up above Sion's chest and called forth her ability which was a unique skill. Ears pushed their way out to the top of her head as a tail protruded out from underneath her uniform dress. Slight fur too seemed to mirror around her face as her hands nails got a little more sharp.
Her attribute was like life only it was more a cheat then the real deal, she had named it 'Fix' due to the fact anything she touched would hence the name, fix itself. But letting out her ability nothing came up, her confusion was evident on her face quite clearly as Sion watched her feeling a little anxious.
"Am I ok?" He asked, unsure of himself. The voice in his head, should he mention it to her?
"Well that's the thing-" stopping short and smiling up at the boy, she didn't want to cause him panic because of her confusion she rephrased her choice of words. "You are perfectly fine, I only was panicked earlier cause you were in such a critical condition when you were admitted roughly 4 days ago"
4 days!? He'd been under for 4 days!? He might as well be keeping a book of his new achievements. None that he was proud of but it was an achievement he didn't think anyone this era could really accomplish. Seeing Sion's dejected smile the nurse patted his head in some reassurance. "Well if your healing is this progressive you may not have to stay here for very much longer"
This woman was great, she was kind and gentle something Sion wasn't used too but maybe the only reason she was being nice was because it was her job to be. If this was any other time she probably would have turned her nose up and walked away with a side remark of 'disgusting'. But a part of Sion hoped he could have faith, even just a little after cheating death.
