Chapter 2: The man with a Dream pt 2

A/n: Gonna quickly release chapters until it catches up with the original.

....

The world he found himself was not his own.

It was one of heroes and villains. Of magic and superpowers.

One of chaos and opportunity.

'It's perfect.' Thought the man.

Currently, he walked along the streets of Gotham aimlessly.

As of now, he had no goal beyond entertaining those watching him.

But to do that he needed strength, allies, and influence. Problematic didn't describe how difficult that task would be.

With threats like Black Mask or the Falcone family around, finding a foothold inside Gotham would be near impossible for a nobody.

However, with the ability granted to him, it was a considerably easier undertaking.

Green energy briefly flickered in his eyes at the thought of his power.

The ability to generate, manipulate, and enforce deals/contracts.

A simple yet devastating skill.

The exact limit to his ability as of now remained unknown to him, however, its flaws weren't so mysterious.

The most damning drawback was the lack of discretion it held.

When a deal was made a surge of green energy would always run itself through the participating parties. Flashy abilities were something he could appreciate (he is a showman after all), but this was less of a neat effect and more of an indication of danger for those watching.

Now that he thought about it the effect was eerily similar to a certain demon…

Suddenly the man was struck with a realization.

All good performers need a stage name and he was no exception.

What if his was Alastor?

" Alastor." The man mumbled, assessing how it felt.

With his lips stretching into a smile, he decided he quite liked it.

Gazing toward the sky the man-no Alastor waited for his patron's approval.

After all, what was the point of a stage name if his audience disapproved of it?

The sudden shifting of his form told Alastor all he needed.

It was an instantaneous change. One moment he was in the body of a middle-aged nobody, and in the next he looked like the human form of the Radio Demon.

However, that wasn't all.

Inside his mind a switch of sorts existed.

When flipped his form would change to the more demonic look associated with Alastor.

A useful ability, and one he'd use to his advantage in the future.

Mentally, Alastor thanked his patron for the change of appearance.

He was also inclined to believe his patron wouldn't be assisting him any further in his endeavors.

Understandably, they wanted to watch a show, not participate in one.

Casting his gaze to the civilians going about their business Alastor noticed no one questioned his change.

'Good.' Thought the deal maker.

If anyone saw his sudden transformation it'd cause problems for his future shows.

Continuing his walk Alastor observed his surroundings thoroughly, particularly the people around him.

As he had mentioned before, the residents of Gotham were rather a glum bunch.

Their faces were in a constant state of weariness and caution.

Vigilance was key to their survival if they hoped to endure the hardships of this wretched city.

These were not the type of people one could trick so handily.

A grin found itself on Alastor's face at the thought.

Such a challenge would only provide more entertainment for his observers.
