Chapter 2: Welcomed

I had finally decided on that room. It felt good to be independent for once. But i suddenly relized i was not as alone as i thought. With all of the excitement i felt, the weight of my hunger had slipped my mind. I climed down the grand staircase into the enterence hall. I turned the large brass nob of the blood red double doors into the kitchen. My heart skipped a beat. To my astonishment i did not see a grand room full of cooking supplies as i had expected, but i was face to face with a pale old man. His hair was a pale gray. His eyes, a cold blue,bore a sharp, yet somehow friendly stare. His face was heavily wrinkled. He was dressed in all white. Gold buttons lined the front of his chef's uniform. For a moment neither of us said a word.
