Chapter 27: Adventurer's Guild

(Fionire Duchy, Holy Kingdom of Goldrose)

After that little incident Brian and Nogla made, for the next 10 minutes of having that much money, they are already broke, how pitiful.

When they returned to the city and headed towards another district, they got sudden gazes from everyone as they were focused on them. At first the two didn't understand but Terroriser immediately understood why, they were obviously wearing expensive armor, it is very easy to gain attention in this city.

They try to tell the Duke to get another reward because they lost it, but unfortunately he was gone alongside his children on a vacation because of family bonding reasons, they will not be present for a week, which means their luck sucks. So they have no choice but to sell useless items in their inventory, but what they only got was more than 800 Eros, or 966 US Dollars according to Terroriser.

For the past few hours they rented a low Inn to stay, after that, the only problem they really needed was money, but fortunately they found the easiest one to gain money.

To sign in as an Adventurer.

Or was it a mercenary? Because why would they call themselves Adventurers while they do jobs for money? That's just for mercenaries.

Well, it doesn't matter, Terroriser doesn't even care anyway.

As they continue to walk through the streets, the two duos then stumble upon the city's plaza, and not gonna lie it fucking lovely to see.

A stream of carriages carrying a large piece of luggage filled the cobbled streets. Bustling street stalls, blacksmiths were hammering irons vigorously, and beautiful women attracted customers to the store. The two saw many people who stopped their feet in front of the store with many resplendent weapons; the two were sure they were Adventurers.

"...Not gonna lie but this looks to behold." Nogla suddenly said.

Terroriser nodded. "Agree, the city kinda reminds me of that Re:Zero anime I watched long ago."

Suddenly, a beautiful girl from a different race caught Brian's eye. She had porcelain white skin, and Bob cut golden hair; her lower body appears to be a horse. It was a tall and beautiful Centaur.

"This is another world for you." Brian mumbled.

After acting like retarded country bumpkins for a while, the two decided to head toward the Adventurer guild.

They walked for a few minutes, and soon a big building came into view. It was a three-story building with a signboard indicating the Adventurer guild.

"I guess this is the one?" Nogla said by Brian's side.

"Maybe…"

Finally, they entered without paying any attention to themselves.

With a creaking sound, Terroriser in front opened the door to the building and entered. Then, an unexpected view entered their eyes. When they entered, the place they first saw was rather full of people. Mostly were men around 16-40 years old, based on their appearance. There are some females but it seems there are more males than females in this building.

Rowdy people gathered in great numbers; some were drinking alcohol and some arguing, sometimes a voice would raise vulgar laughter.

"Well, I didn't expect such a scene." Nogla said.

"I know, it is so different from my expectations." Brian replied to his friend.

"Like men fighting?"

"Yeah well, you know you often read something like that in novels and Mangas."

As they looked around, there were also places for food and drink in the Adventurers Guild, but there were only about a few people who looked like adventurers; a few more people were drinking, but most seats were vacant.

By the time they made their appearance, almost everyone gained their attention to the two.

"Wow! Check out those two's armor!" A random person exclaims.

"Looks quite expensive." Another commented.

"Guys, I felt their mana levels are only <F> rank." Another one said who appears as a Mage.

"Typical rich kid playing pretend."

"Shiny present from mommy."

It showed the ones who spoke. It showed three people sitting on sofas as they stared at Terroriser and Nogla as they started to look at the bulletin board.

The two beside the girl laughs and mocks at the two while Nogla desperately tries to hold his anger, meanwhile with Brian, he is currently reading the board.

But there is still another problem.

'I can't read this.'

Slightly looking at Nogla beside him, he thought.

'While dumb, he still isn't able to read it as well... no slight difference.'

Out of frustration, Terroriser tears one of the fliers and slams it on the desk of a nearby receptionist.

"Consider this quest done!" Terroriser said with confidence while masking his nervousness.

Turning around, one of the receptionists near Brian turns to his direction.

Seeing her appearance, Brian couldn't help but feel stunned by her beauty.

As expected of the receptionists, who are the faces of the Adventurers Guild, they were all beautiful women with great figures. There were beast people with dog ears and cat ears, but this one has a wing.

What he could guess, she might be a Bird Beastmen or a race known as a Hardy.

The Receptionist with wings near the counter looked at the form then to Brian.

"I'm very sorry, sir, but you do not appear to be Adventurers judging you don't have any plates and secondly this quest is for A-ranks."

"I am completely well aware!" Terroriser said as he put his hands on his hips as he said in a very confident tone, making the woman surprised. "We are in great armor, great weapons, and shit tons of gears enough to kill a Dragon!"

"Enderdragon, like what he said."Nogla said in the background.

"I'm sorry, but I still have to follow the guild's rules." The receptionist lightly argued.

'Damn…'

"But if you want to, you can register as an Adventurer."

"Oh, alright! Me and my friend would like to register with the guild to become an adventurer.''

"Hehe, you should've declared that earlier."

"Ah, I see we have newcomers. Welcome to our guild, Boys. We hope you'll survive long enough and hope you don't die. Let's cheer for the newcomers!" A middle-aged man, an adventurer drinking at the bar, yelled out.

"Cheers!" Said the others before gulping down the contents of their glasses.

Not gonna lie, the two were astonished because they thought that they would get mock even more just like the previous three asholes earlier. For sure. Well, truly unexpected,

"Welcome; please sign your name, age, and status on the form here. Don't worry; we won't disclose anything. Do you need me to write for you two?'' She asked them with a smile, a professional smile.

"Nope, that's okay,'' Terroriser responded.

After Terroriser and Nogla finished filling the form, both of them handed the piece of paper back to the receptionist.

''We need to pay, isn't it?" Nogla asked.

"Yes, 200 Euros for each individual for registration."

Nodding their heads, the two gave her 200 Euros coins.

"Thank you. Because there is some time before the guild card is ready, I'll give an explanation of the guild."

With a slight bow, the receptionist started to describe the guild.

"Adventurers registered with the Adventurers Guild are part of a ranking system; the ranks go from G to A. Though there tentatively is a S-rank, it is banned by every country due to them being Weapon of Mass Destruction.

G-rank is the lowest rank and specializes in receiving requests for the lowest quests, like gathering herbs or cleaning.

Requests can be taken from the request board and can be handed to the receptionists when completed. Because the compensation written on the request paper already accounts for taxes and housing fees in the city, you will receive the full amount specified on the request. Also, if you do not complete the request within the given number of days, you will be penalized and will have to pay the Adventurers Guild 30% of the request reward.

In addition, it is possible to receive requests one rank higher than your current rank; there is no lower limit. For instance, a G-rank adventurer can receive an F-rank request. Your rank can be improved after completing a set number of requests.

However, when going up from E to D, or C to B, it is necessary to take an exam issued by the guild. You will understand if you see this guide: G is Novices, F is Beginner, E is Intermediate, D is experienced, C is Masters, B are Grandmasters, and finally A are Legendary.

When forming a party with more than one person, the average rank of the members becomes the party rank; this is clearly described on the guild card.

Also, if you have formed a party, you can receive requests two ranks higher.

Registering as an adventurer costs 200 Euros coins for the fees, while 500 Euros coins are required to re-issue if you lose your guild card.

An adventurer may sell materials from monsters to customers out of his judgment; in that case, if there is trouble, it does not concern the Adventurers Guild.

In addition, the Adventurer guild will purchase materials and weapons, and because the Adventurer Guild partnered with most of the shops in the City, there are some advantages, meaning the armor shops and magic item shops in the city will sell things 1-2% cheaper.

There are other advantages, the purchase assessment is quick, and even if there is a large amount of the same material in the market, the payment will still be the same. Since the Adventurers Guild can contact other countries quickly with magic items, you can still rank up your guild card at a different Adventurers Guild branch.

If adventurers have trouble with a request or other adventurers, the Adventurers Guild is not concerned, so it won't intervene.

There are many dungeons: Lowest Dungeons Level such as with few floors (5-30) and Middle-Level Dungeons (30-60). To explore the Lowest Dungeons, you need to be at least G to F-rank. For middle-level Dungeons, it's E to D-rank minimum. For the high-level Dungeons (60-200), you need to be at least C to A-rank. You'll need the permission of the Kingdom the dungeon is located in before exploring, or if you graduate from magical academies, you'll get your permit to explore the lowest floor of the High-Level Dungeon even with a low rank.

That's all." the Harpy receptionist said.

Brian nodded his head, and Nogla, however, nearly slept from the whole explanation.

"TML(Too Much Information), ain't listening shit…" Nogla mumbled, desperately trying to stay awake.

"We understand; We don't have any other questions in particular. How long before the guild card is ready?"

"Almost, one more thing…"

Lowering herself down to get something on the counter. Few moments had passed, and she finally found what she was looking for.

A large crystal ball.

"What is that?"

Looking at Nogla with a surprise look, the woman said.

"Are you living under a rock? This is a Talent Assessment Orb, it will measure the scale of an individual's power and stats and translate it to their current rank. Most people knew what it was.k

Returning her gaze at Brian, she asks. "Is he joking or is he that very dumb?"

"Well madam, my friend here is what you call, a retard." Brian said in a deadpan tone.

"Sigh, whatever, I'll explain..."

... There are ranks that measure and know what both of our physical and magical talent abilities are.

The Talent Assessment Orb will show our current rank.

Typically, once someone places their hand on the talent assessment orb, the orb will immediately change color showing our current rank.

[G] - Yellow

[F] - Green

[E] - Orange

[D] - Red

[C] - Blue

[B] - Purple

[A] - White

[S] - Black

As for the S-ranks, technically all of the Countries on Fordalt never allowed such of it, because Demigods are unimaginably powerful and they fear it might cause something catastrophic."

After finishing explaining, Terroriser began to fully understand.

"Yeah, I understand. I'll go first then."

Touching the orb, it immediately glows showing Light Green color.

"Oh, your at <F–> rank, I also forgot to mention that if the color was dark, then their upper echelon of their rank have a "+" attached while Light color is those in the lower echelon have a "–" attached, if it's between light and dark, then there at the mid echelon is normal color, and lastly once the single color glows like a heartbeat, then that means their rank is at the pinnacle of it, having a "++" attached."

"Nice…"

Turning her attention back to Nogla, she said.

"Now it's your turn."

"Alright then!"

Touching it, the orb glows the same color, Light Green.

"You're at <F–> rank, same as your friend here. Well, as I have seen your rank, maybe I should indeed give you something hard for being F-ranks adventurers."

"Alright!"

"Ms, is our Guild Card almost done?"

"Um… yes, it's ready. Here's the card. Please give me both of your thumbs; I need your blood to bind this card to you." She asked.

She pricked Brian's and Nogla's thumbs, and their blood dropped on the two cards.

Per the receptionist's words, they verified their guild card.

[Guild registration location: Fionire branch, Name: Brian Hanby

Rank: F–, Age: 31. Gender: Male

Rank 2...]

[Guild registration location: Fionire branch, Name: David Nagle

Rank: F–, Age: 30. Gender: Male

Rank 2...]

Now, their guild card was Green. Their registration is complete, and this guild card can also act as identification paper anywhere they would go.

"Yes!" Nogla yelled out excitedly, "We can finally do something fun besides these typical newby jobs, such as getting herbs, delivering and cleaning shit!"

"Oorah!"

Surprisingly, the two were nearly startled by the loud cries from the people in the Guild, that just agreeing to Nogla's words.
