Chapter 3: Wait! What's s this stat thingy?

Blank looked at the 'Polluted Slimes' all over the field, he took out his dagger and went to attack. It didn't matter how much time it took him was killing the slimes, one by one as they respawn.

[You have killed a Polluted Slime]

[You have obtained 2 EXP]

Since Blank was 2 levels higher than the slimes, he EXP gain also reduced, even though he needed like 1000 EXP to get to level 5.

His whole body was dripping with sweat, he was breathing heavily but he went on to kill another slime.

[You have dealt 4 damage]

[You have dealt 3 damage]

[You have dealt 4 damage]

[You have killed a Polluted Slime]

[You have obtained 2 EXP]

'I don't get it. When I was in level 1, I dealt with 3 to 4 damage, but even on level 4, I am dealing the same damage.' Blank was scratching his head with confusion.

Well, you would think that Blank was smart that he figured out the same damage but in the end, he is an idiot. He hasn't put any stat points in his stats as he leveled up. Now, you would think is there someone as idiot as Blank, but in reality, he hasn't played any MMO games. So, he didn't know about the things about the stat, stat points, and skills.

Till now Blank doesn't even know that he can use skills. He is just blandly basic attacking the slimes. And he didn't even know that he could just go to the nearby forest to get better EXP from the monsters there.

Not only that, but Tserek village also has the weakest monsters in all of Dreamer, so the EXP they provide is also the lowest.

Blank's vision located another slime he charged towards it and started attacking it.

[You have killed a Polluted Slime]

[You have obtained 2 EXP]

grrrr~~~~

Blank's stomach started to growl, he also started to feel very hungry.

[You are very hungry]

[Please find something to eat]

'Meh... it's just hunger, it's not like I will die, it's not real life'

How much an idiot can Blank be? It's true that Dreamer is a game but there's a reason it's called the Ultimate World/Second World. Hunger and trust in this game matter more than keeping mana or stamina in check.

The stamina recovery rate of a player depends on his hunger bar while the mana recovery rate depends on the thirst bar. Even if you take a potion to refill stamina or mana, due to hunger or thirst they will deplete quickly.

Blank didn't give much attention to hunger notification and kept on finding and killing slimes.

After 10 minutes it finally happened.

[Please find something to eat in 10 seconds]

[You will die in 10 seconds if you can't fill your hunger bar by 10℅ in 10 seconds]

Suddenly, a counter appeared in Blank's vision. It started counting from 10.

Blank started to panic he didn't know what to do, he checked his inventory but found nothing to eat or drink.

'What will happen if I die? Will I be able to play the game anymore?'

[You have died]

[You will respawn in 10 seconds to your save point 'Tserek Village']

Blank found himself in an empty void he didn't move his body or did he think about anything.

He closed his eyes and when he opened them back, he saw himself standing back in Tserek Village.

He started crying tears of joy. 'Ahh... I can still play the game. Wait! Did I just went to level 1 and will have to start again'

He checked his profile which he was able to find after looking around his field of vision. But, it wasn't in his field of vision. 'Silly me I forgot'

"Menu"

A blue transparent screen appeared in front of him, on the top left corner of the screen was Blank's info. Fortunately, he was still level 4. He left out a sigh of relief.

Whenever a player dies he loses 0.1*(players level) EXP. So, Blank just lost 0.4℅ Exp which wasn't a lot. But, in case it was 20 slimes worth of hard work gone to waste, he lost 40 EXP, and as each slime gave him 2 EXP.

Blank looked below his profile to see an option known as stats. He pressed the option it took him to another window.

Strength: 1 Defense: 1

Intelligence: 1 Magic: 1

Agility: 1. Vitality: 1

Stat Points: 34

As a player's level increases, he/she get stat points according to the number they have. As Blank only has 6 stats he received 6 stat points each time he leveled up. Meaning 4 levels*6 stat point = 24 stat points.

But, then why did he have 34 stat points. As a player starts a new game he or age gets 10 stat points to start their game. And since Blank hasn't deposited any stat he had 34 stat points.

Blank looks at the start menu still confused about what to do with it. He didn't know which stat did what.

'Hmm...lets see. I can put all of my stats in strength. I will become super strong hehe'

Out of all the stats he only understood, and it was strength. Yeah, it was simple as it meant to increase his strength. Blank didn't even question his decision a second, he immediately puts his strength in strength leaving other stats at 1.

Suddenly, Blank started feeling much stronger. His muscles also grew a bit.

Blank started punching the air boasting his strength, but in reality, it wasn't much, but instead an idiotic move.

Even if Blank has super strength, what's even the use if he can't even hit his targets. For example, if there was a player, his level is the same as Blank's. But, unlike Blank, he puts 24 stats in strength and 10 stat points, he will easily defeat Blank as he will be able to avoid Blank's attack easily.

It will take him 1 hit to the hill Blank as Blank didn't have any stat points in defense or vitality.

Blank looks at the other options. And then stumbles upon another option...Skills.
