Chapter 2: New Start

I was teleported to a platform in front of a massive mansion. It looked to be at least 5 stories tall, and it was so wide I was unable to fully fit the entire thing into my vision. I then realized that there were people standing between me and the mansion in perfect columns. They seemed to be saluting me for some odd reason. I just got here and it seems that I had been mixed up with someone else already. No way this could be mine just because I accepted the voices request.

An imposing woman at the front of the group walked forward and saluted me, "Oh Grand Wishing Man, we, are here to help you. We are the ones who will take care of you and your house. We are the maids and butlers that will serve you for all eternity".

I looked at the woman, scanned over the huge group of people, then looked back at the woman. "Huh? Everything is happening too fast for me to understand. First I was talking to a being that I could not even see, and now you are saying that this is actually my house and I have maids and butlers taking care of my needs?"

"Yes we are here for you, and although everything that just happened to you may seem weird, I will explain what you just experienced. So do please come inside your new house so we can rest while I explain." Proudly exclaimed the woman with wonder in her eyes. "But before we do that I will introduce you to the different groups of workers."

We started off at the left-most column. "This is the cooking team, they will be creating the meals for everyone. Next is the cleaning team, they will be the ones that will keep the entire mansion in tip-top shape. Next is the engineering crew which will fix up anything that is broken and will help create anything new that you want. The final group is the architectural group, they are the ones that will help improve the mansion."

"So now that I know about all of the groups and what they do can you now please explain to me what is going on?" I asked, hoping that the woman does not have any more information to put onto me.

"Yes, now I can tell you why you are here." Said the woman.

She turned and looked at the group of people said a few words and every single one of them except the first person in the line of each group went into the mansion. We began walking towards the mansion with the four people behind up

I pondered to myself who those people might be, I ended up with the idea that these people are probably the heads of the groups.

We passed through the huge doors that lead into a gigantic foyer. The room looked as if it was able to carry over a thousand people without anybody feeling cramped. The roof was around forty feet tall, and a crystal chandelier that was at least the size of the average African elephant hung from the ceiling.

All along the sides of the room were doors that lead to the different parts of the mansion. To either side of us were stairs leading up to a second-floor

"We will take you to the living room on the second floor, that is where we will sit." The woman said, informing me of the situation.

We walked up the marble stairs and walked through a hallway until she stopped at a door. She took out a key and opened the door. The room seemed underwhelming compared to the rest of the house. There were just two couches facing each other, separated by a large wooden table. I walked over to one of the couches and the five other people walked to the other one.

They waited until I was seated, the woman sat down and the other people stood behind her couch.

The woman suddenly stood up, "Oh, we almost forgot to introduce ourselves!" Blurted out the women. "I am Mary, the head maid of this mansion. I will be with you most of the time that you are here."

I then looked at the large man in chef's clothes, he bowed, and cleared his throat, "I am Thomas, the head chef, I will be the one making the food along with the rest of the cooks. So if you wish to have a certain food to eat, please come to me."

I moved my eyes to the right only to see a short, petite girl standing next to Thomas. Her eyes were just able to peek over the couch. "I am Ann, the head of the cleaning crew. We will make sure that this house looks nothing less than perfect in terms of cleanliness."

Next to her was a man, probably over 6 feet tall that looked like he would be able to run a marathon as a warmup. "I am Gilbert, the head of the engineering group. We basically just keep everything from breaking."

The final one in line looked away the moment my eyes moved to her. She was quite the looker, a face that might as well be the definition of beauty. Her chest was not a letdown either, "He-Hello, I am Lucy, the head of t-the architectural crew. If you have any r-revisions of the mansion, please ask me or any of m-my helpers."

After they were all done introducing themselves I stood and bowed, "I am Lee, I have no idea what I am doing here but I hope you will take care of me while I am here."

As I looked back up, I saw them all look at me with wide eyes. "Master! You mustn't do that" declared Mary. "We serve you, you should not be the one bowing to us. We are below you, please think of us as nothing more than an insect."

"That won't do, I don't care how others treat their servants, but here we will treat everyone with respect." I refuted in a fit of rage. "I will not allow others to feel as if they are less than somebody else."

All five of them looked at me with teary eyes, Thomas said with a shaky voice, "Master you truly are a good being. For you to allow us to be even close to your level is almost dreamlike to us."

"Cmon, it's not that big of a deal." With that commotion over with I just wanted to know why I was here. "Can I just be informed about my situation now?"

Mary began by clearing her throat. "Of course, to begin with, you were chosen to be "The Wishing Man" by the almighty, which means that you are the one who helps people on the mortal realm complete their wishes and desires. You will go down to the mortal realm and take a form of something and you will help guide them to their perfect life. When you are done you will gain power and prestige in the afterlife for every job completed."

I laid back and sighed, "Sounds simple enough, I just hope that my job isn't too difficult."

Mary said happily, "Don't worry about the difficulty of your job. Because you are just starting out, you won't be given anything difficult, yet."

As soon as she finished her sentence, I heard a bell ring.
