Chapter 25: I don't remember anything

Yara purred like a cat as she sat up, her eyes smart from sleep. However, she gasped when she discovered nothing was underneath the quilt. "Why am I naked? What happened last night?" She thought hard trying to jog her mind to remember last night.

"Ouch! It hurts!" She hissed as she touched her head. Images flashed in her mind but she couldn't decipher what it was and her head ached badly.

"The sleeping beauty is finally awake." Shark walked in carrying a tray full of different dishes. Yara covered herself with the sheets and was afraid of Shark coming closer.

"Don't come any closer!" She warned him.

"What?" Shark asked in confusion.

"Did you take advantage of me last night?"

"Are you kidding me?" Shark placed the tray on the bedside table and sat beside her despite her warning.

"I told you not to come closer, what is wrong with you!" She yelled at him.

"Okay, okay, don't get me busted." Shark irked his brows confusedly. He was not getting why she was having such an attitude.

"What exactly happened last night? Did we actually do something we shouldn't have..."

"I'm sorry Yara, I don't get it. Last night you were awfully horny and we made love. It was wonderful and we were so much into each other. Why are you making a fuss out of it? Don't tell me you got amnesia overnight."

Shark shook his head in disbelief as Yara burned with rage.

"I don't remember anything okay! All I remember is playing the piano and then....oh no, why can't I remember the rest?" Yara covered her mouth from the shock of not able to remember all the events that had happened the day earlier.

"Don't go anywhere," Shark cautioned her and left. He quickly got hold of Dr. Matt on the phone and walked to the balcony.

"We have a problem, can you make it here in time? Yara seems to have a memory relapse."

"Okay, I'll be there right away." Dr. Matt said.

Shark disconnected the call and walked back to his room. He had to watch over her as she was angry with him. He heard soft sobs when he walked in and rushed to the whirlpool and saw her sitting on the slab naked and holding a pair of scissors.

"Don't! Stay away from me!" She vented all her anger on him. Thin mucus flowed down to her lips and tears cascaded down her pink face. Shark's heart ached and didn't know what he should do with her if she kept on driving him away.

Several strands of hair were floating in the whirlpool and he definitely knew she was devastated of her hair crumping off. It had happened a week ago when he had moved his hand to caress her.

"Don't look at me like that, people do shave their hair right? So it's nothing new. Stop acting like you care, you don't! I'm dying and I'll be forgotten. You'll forget that I even existed in your life. So stop giving me that look. I don't need your fucking pity." She rubbed her nose and sighed deeply before leaving the pool.

Shark stood still and watched her walk to the dressing room. Stinging tears deluged down his cheeks and he lost all his composure. If only Yara knew that she was the reason he was living, that he'd not live if she ever died. Shark didn't bother wiping his tears away, he walked to the window and drew the curtains.

Yara on the other hand, slipped into a blue dress and sat on the bed. She scorned on the food that Shark had made an effort to cook for her and looked down. She had said mean and stinging words to him not caring to choose her tone when she blurted out on him.

The sudden squeak of the door brought Shark back to his senses. He was a man who didn't want to show his vulnerable side to anyone but for some reasons, he turned around and saw Grasha standing a few metres from him.

"Dr. Matt has arrived. Should I let him in?" Grasha asked even though her mind was caught up with something else. His sullen face and dry tears on his handsome face.

"Let him wait at the parlour, I'll be down soon."

"Alright Sir." Grasha said.

"And please, take the food with you. It has been despised so much and have it thrown away immediately." Shark didn't bother to watch his tongue. Grasha hesitated for a while but carried the tray of food with her scampered out not wanting to make him angry.

Shark looked at the woman who had her head hang low and chuckled painfully. He didn't blame her but rather himself for everything that was happening to her. He drew closer to her and lifted her chin up making her look at him.

"Dr. Matt is here for you. He's the one you'd prefer to talk to than me. Get up and get out." He said without emotions and immediately walked to the door leaving it ajar for her to decide whether to walk out or not.

Yara felt horribly guilty for having been so insensitive towards him. She was angered by the fact that her brain was fogging and she couldn't remember her first phase of relationship. According to her bucket list, one of the wishes she was yet to fulfill was finding her soulmate, her one true love. One who she could get married to and have kids and now that she had found him, her mind had deleted the most unforgettable night with the man he loved.
