Chapter 2: - Ch. 2 - (?'s POV)
'Wait what?!… My life's a game now?'
'What am I supposed to do? This is all too real. I'm not crazy, I know that for a fact. I was just binge watching my favorite movies last night while drinking some ginger ale. That's it. What the hell!?'
After those thoughts and others like them kept on circling throughout my head, I finally found the will to push them to the back of my mind. The floating boxed in words disappeared without fanfare before my eyes. 'At least their my favorite color.' With a sigh, I try to keep my calm and center myself within the clarity of this new ability that was apparently just unlocked by me. 'This is all too weird.'
'Okay, I should just roll with it and plan out a strategy…'
1 – Search the cabin
2 – Find out more about being an Adventurer and this gift or spark or whatever I've been given
3 – Find water & a steady source of food
4 – Clean up this place (as much as I can)
5 – Find or make clothes (somehow)
6 – Plan out a defense around my new shelter
7 – Make more plans as follows and/or needed

'Huh, good to know.' With a nod and a new sense of purpose, I start exploring the cabin to find nothing on the third floor except 5 rooms and what looks like a bathroom somehow… 'How is there a bathroom here? The mirror above the shiny marble sink looks new. The porcelain toilet, marble tiled floors and walls, porcelain bath tub, milky sliding glass shower doors, and the flowery quilt curtains blocking the windows look immaculate. The bathroom closet is huge and it has enough room for a few laundry bins and shelf space for a lot of towels. There's also a wooden bar with a couple of wooden hangers.'
'Now that I think about it, there's no dust, cobwebs, mold, mildew, or any other sign of dirt from what I've seen so far except for what I brought into this cabin; including the dirty well-used rope I bought with me, from last night.'
'Might as well test it out.' I strode towards the sink and turned the left faucet on and was greeted with the soothing sound of running hot water. With the tip of my finger, I tested the temperature and adjusted it accordingly to my needs. I washed my face and my hands and looked at myself in the mirror to double check if I was still really myself. My newly washed fair skinned face greeted me and my toasty topaz pair of eyes roamed over my average features with scrutiny. My wavy raven locks of hair were still the same length and volume, reaching my shoulders and a bit past them and ending in curls.
'At least I still look like myself. All 5 feet and 5 inches of me.' My slightly athletic frame and average bust size are still the same. My ears are still their same humanlike quality and shape. 'Thank goodness. I would've freaked out if I woke up with shiny pointed elf ears.'
After I finished getting myself cleaned up and refreshed, I walked out the door with the thought, 'How is there a working bathroom here?', still popping up in my head. As soon as I left the threshold of the bathroom door, another box pops up in front of me.

"Okay, then…", I nod to myself in confusion. 'That's a thing.'
[3rd Floor – 1st to 5th rooms – Currently Empty & with no purpose]
'How very helpful.', I nod to myself in approval before heading down the sturdy spiral wooden staircase towards the 2nd floor. 'It looks like I'll have to explore areas thoroughly in order to get notifications of what I've found and observed for myself. However, that doesn't mean there aren't any hidden compartments in this cabin that I've yet to find.'

'This is going to get annoying really quickly, I can tell. Although, the boosts are kind of flattering.'
{An hour later}
I find myself back on the bench I was on earlier with a plethora of pink boxes with words and my discoveries plastered across my sight in chronological order. 'Thankfully I was able to figure out something about these constant floating word boxes that keep on appearing in front of me. It's all mental control, visualization, and imagination. As a beginning journalist straight out of college before I got here, I'm absolutely sure I have plenty of all three to spare. Now then, time to read and sort all this out.'

'Yeah, I found an almost identical bathroom on the 2nd floor with the only difference between the 2nd and 3rd floor bathrooms being the massive spa pool in the center. Which to me, is simply amazing.'
[2nd Floor – 1st to 4th rooms – Currently Empty & with no purpose]
[1st Floor – Living room, Dining room, and Kitchen are empty besides the basic minimal furnishings]
'There aren't even any beds; which is pretty sad, but I can deal with it until I find a way to make my own. The living room has this bench and a small couch made of a type of polished wood that I don't know anything about with an ivory dyed leather of unknown type and stuffing that makes for a very comfortable feel. I know where I'm sleeping tonight.'
'The fireplace looks ready to be used and is made of some type of interconnected bricks with a rust-red coloring and what looks to be of hardened cement or something like it for the mortar. There's only a black cauldron, a wooden ladle, and a fire pit underneath to warm the cauldron of its' future contents within the kitchen.'
'At least it's something.'
[Basement is empty & with no purpose, but there is plenty of space for any future endeavors as well as underground expansion]
'This cabin looks great but there's no lighting whatsoever except for the natural sunlight coming from the windows. But it looks like it'll be my home for the foreseeable future. Furnishing this place with all the necessities for my continued survival will be a work in progress and trial and error will be my friend.'
