My eyes snapped open and I groaned from the influx of memory. I cough several times and a black liquid with hints of blood drip from my mouth. After several deep breath I calmed down.
"Finally. I see what's going on." I click my tongue. My memory had merged with my past self.
"That makes the two of us then. " From the side of the bed, the enchanting Zi Hei said as she wiped off the remaining trace of the black liquid from her mouth. She licked her lips and smiled gently.
I reach out to grab the hand towel already prepared by the side of the bed.
"It truly feels weird. I feel like I am Zi Hei but at the same time I am the Empress." She place her delicate fingers on her chin.
"The black liquid was the poison then." I said casually . I wanted to sound smart but somehow I sounded so cold and distant.
"Curious. Your bloodline should have prevented you from falling pray to the poison.."
"You over estimate my bloodline. It can only defend against poison weaker than itself." I chuckled.
"Hm... It must have directly attacked my organs. Perhaps..." I tapped my fingers on my bed as I contemplated.
"Whatever. Whoever did this really wanted me dead don't they?" Zi Wei smirked widden. "Fine. I will play their little game." A creepy aura spreaded and I could feel her bloodlust rising steadily.
"It's hard to tell if you are the same Zi Wei I know..." I trace her wrist.
"Truly oddening..."
"You tell me my cold emperor." She teased me and I rolled my eyes. "No... Wei Wei!They clearly blame me for the death of the concubine and child. "
My memories flashed back to the children lined up and the execution of one of the children and concubine.
"That was cruel. But at the same time that concubine received what she deserve. The child however did not." Zi Hei sighed.
I, as Wei Wei agreed with her. But as the Emperor, I could not seemly find an ounce to even care about the life of a child.
"Nevermind about that for now. On the bright side, by inheriting their memories, we seemed to have a better grasp on the situation. The traitor was from the House of Yang." I said as I remembered the accusation by Empress Dowager.
"Hell that lady was ready to kill me off just because she thought my brother was the one who cause the incident." ZI Hei rolled his eyes at the dumbness of the Royal Court.
"Your tone keeps changing. First, you sound like the Empress but now you sound like ZI Hei. I told her.
" Same for you. "Zi Hei nodded.
" Our personality keep changing as though to adjust to our temperament. "She said.
" We should maintain the Emperor and Empress personality if not we may be questioned if we are the real deal. "

"So let's recap. This world is about the same as the previous. The emperor, Feng Jin was famous for his indifference to the throne and his uncaring nature towards his concubines. "Zi Hei started and looked at me for confirmation.

I glared at Zi Hei but she only shrugged saying it was not her but the previous empress whose body she possess.
