Chapter 50: Chapter 50 — His Dad Was So Cool!
Pei Yueran was quite angry now.
"No! I'll go to a hotel or something." She knew she was being irrational, but she couldn't help it.
"Really? Okay." He started to make a call.
"What are you trying to do this time? Make sure I don't find a hotel to stay in?"
"As a matter of fact, I have a bit of influence in the hotel industry. I don't mind sending a city-wide notice."
"What is wrong with you? Why are you so hell-bent on having me stay with you?"
"So, are you coming with me or not?"
It was on the tip of her tongue to tell him to go to "somewhere burning hot", but she held herself back. It won't do to annoy him at this point. Who knew how the crazy man would retaliate?
She decided to go to the office and stay for a few days. She kept quiet, trying not to alert him, but he saw through her thoughts at a glance.
Staying at the office? Not on his watch!
He dialed Gong Anwei's number. When he picked, he enunciated clearly while looking at Pei Yueran, "Make sure you inform the security office at the company not to let Special Assistant Pei in, no matter what time of the day or night they see her. Anyone who flouts this order will be fired straight away."
Gong Anwei, who was sleeping before the call came in, blanked out. What kind of strange order was this? Was this still his easygoing and reticent boss? Why were his recent orders....weird?
As the good P.A. he was though, he replied "yes" immediately.
At this point, Pei Yueran was fuming. She leveled a death glare at him and turned her back. She knew the whole argument was silly, after all, he just wanted to take care of her, but the way he was going about it rankled.
Li Chuanmo said nothing about it either. He tucked her in calmly, but his palms were sweating. He knew she was angry because she wasn't talking to him, but he didn't understand why she was so adamant about not staying with him.
It was obvious she needed help, so why didn't she want to accept his?

By the time Pei Yueran was finally discharged, it had been eighteen hours since they last spoke normally to each other. Whenever they had to communicate, they spoke in monosyllables.
Whenever she wanted to use the restroom, she would press the button and wait for the nurse to come. She mainly read books or played with the puzzle she was given. It was a thousand-piece puzzle, and by the time she was being discharged, she had completed about one-tenth of it.
Li Chuanmo took care of all the procedures and ushered her to the parking lot where his driver was already waiting. Very soon, they were on their way to Li Chuanmo's place.
Pei Yueran wanted to tell him to take her home first, so that she could get something, but she decided against it. She planned to do whatever it took to be back home in three days, so she would make do with the things he helped her pack.
It was a thirty minute drive from the hospital. When they arrived, Pei Yueran was amazed.
His house could be more accurately described as a mansion instead. It was sprawled on a vast expanse of land. She was no expert, but she could easily surmise that his abode sat on more than fifty thousand square meters of prime land.
It was even bigger than the Li family villa!
The life of the rich!
The butler and house workers were already waiting outside neatly to welcome Li Chuanmo. Even Li Yuchen was outside, kicking at stones impatiently as he waited.
His eyes lit up when he saw Pei Yueran alight from the car.
Aha! He was right! His dad had been with his goddess all along. And now she had even come to their house. Does that mean he was getting a mother soon?
He was so excited that he almost jumped on her, "My Goddess!"
Li Chuanmo stopped him with a palm to his head, "Careful. Your "Auntie Pei" is not feeling very well."
Li Yuchen was angry at his dad at first, but his anger dissipated when he heard that his goddess wasn't feeling well.
"What's wrong my Goddess? Where are you feeling sick?"
Pei Yueran smiled at him weakly. Although the car moved smoothly and the driver drove slowly to prevent discomfort, the journey still took its toll on her. She felt like just sleeping right there and then.
Li Chuanmo noticed her look and handed her bag over to the butler while saying to Li Yuchen, "No questions for now. You can talk to her when she feels better."
That said, he scooped her up into his arms and carried her upstairs, to the room next to his. He had already told the butler to clean it up and arrange it for his guest.
Li Yuchen was shocked, then he squealed in admiration. His dad was so cool!
He followed behind the duo, chattering nonstop like a pesky bee that Li Chuanmo wanted to swat away.
The butler also carried the bag upstairs, leaving the rest of the workers to gape at each other.
Does this mean they had a madam now?

"Dad, I was wrong. Please get me out of here", Fu Mengyao cried pitifully at her father when he went to visit her at the detention centre.
Their lawyers had tried everything possible to bail her but the police were delaying it, the reason being that they had yet to catch the assassin she sent.
Fu Minghao sighed for the umpteenth time. His daughter crying incessantly, giving him a headache. His wife was still bedridden. Some of his business partners were still avoiding him.
His only source of comfort was that his company had overcome the cash flow crisis and business was returning to normal slowly. He was grateful to Li Chuanmo even as he wondered what he hoped to gain by offering help.
Was he offering genuine help, or was he pretending to be a pig to eat the tiger*?
Fu Mengyao continued talking, and by now she was almost hysterical. Her screams brought Fu Minghao back to earth.
He sighed again and spoke, "Tell me Yao'er, why did you do it? No matter what she did, how could you think of killing a person? How?"
Fu Mengyao's expression turned sinister, "That s**t deserves to die! How dare she have designs on my man? A slow death is letting her off lightly!"
