Chapter 123: W3: An Otaku’s Fairytale/Nightmare (1)

Dina was in shock at the sight before her.

Within the audio app were various tabs including, podcasts, music, audiobooks, soundscapes, ASMR recordings, and various others which on being clicked led one to a whole different area. The music tab had a search tab for finding music by artists or song names, another for searching fandoms and a forum specially made for music lovers.

Other tabs followed pretty much the same format and finally was the special forum made for communication of the entire audio community. A shaky Dina looked over to Zero with sparkling eyes who nodded and without hesitation, she tapped and was thrown into a whole new world.

There were so many forum posts that even after scrolling for half an hour it never ended. So going onto the search bar she typed, ‘Introductions’ and sure enough a bunch of pinned messages for new users to introduce themselves appeared.

Dina’s smile widened, so she wasn’t fucking alone! She had a whole damn group! Did this mean the other apps…?

Without wasting time Dina closed the audio community and began browsing through the remaining icons, their names were straightforward showing what they were for. There was the B-vid (Bureau video community), B-social (Bureau Social media), B- system (system apps including camera, calculator, calendar which held all events of the Bureau, boggle assistant, and various others), it was like a mini-app box; B-browser that worked like a normal search engine; B-news (Bureau news); B-101 (Bureau 101), introducing everything one had to know about the Bureau, it even had locked categories according to one’s rank; and various others.

“This is incredible! Does that mean all the Bureau agents are in here?!” Dina exclaimed in awe while still browsing happily, it was like a whole new world had been introduced to her. At the very least something awesome happened in this transmigration of hers!

“Not really, each Bureau Community is divided according to the job possessed by an individual which meant your community is only for transmigrators. You’re not allowed access to the other community but we despite being a different group are allowed access to yours, due to our higher rank. Although we’re allowed to engage only on special conditions, maybe to announce a particular event or issue a warning, etc., apart from such conditions we are only ever allowed to spectate,” Zero explained.

“So the higher rankers can spectate the lower rankers community in the Bureau but aren’t allowed to engage with them unless on special situations, is that so?”

“Yes, although these special situations vary for each rank. An AIT won’t have the same conditions a Departmental Head has in other to engage and so on as so forth as you move upwards,” Zero clarified more.

“I see, and access to all this is free?!”

“Yes, you have been granted access to the unlimited Wi-Fi bundle of the Bureau, however, be careful how you misuse it because if you let it interfere with your work there’s a risk of incurring restrictions like having to pay for a certain amount of time and depending on how severe your misuse is, you garner a higher risk of your access to the community being cut off,” Zero warned sending chills down Dina’s spine, no way she’d let that!

“So I can now take pictures?!”

“Yes, but using this feature in worlds requires not only points but have special rules binding it which include that firstly, one cannot access the Bureau in front of the mission target or other important characters. Secondly, you’re only allowed a limited amount of minutes in each world which when exceeded you’ll be firmly cut off from the Bureau network, points or not.”

“Damn, at least I can take pictures… does that mean I can ask anything in the community?”

“Except for confidential matters which you don’t have to worry about since I’ll interfere to warn you whenever needed.”

“I see…! Hm, Good enough! Can I browse for a while at least before the next world?” Dina pleaded.

“Well, you still haven’t opened the single most important app in the community,” Zero said while pointing to an icon.

B-hive, a store where all sorts of things could be sold and purchased, the only place according to Zero where all agents of the Bureau regardless of rank could openly connect. However, due to this, there were many restrictions in the forum which meant one couldn’t blabber anyhow.

“It even has items from earth… oh!! Those clothes you purchased for me in the first world, damn you just grabbed anything huh? You could have picked better clothes! Can I resale ‘em or something?” Dina chattered excitedly.

Checking out the millions of items within the store made Dina dizzy, she was already bad at picking things to buy and now it was an intergalactic store with all sorts of things it became even worse.

“So many things to purchase, things that can make even the possible impossible… a gender package that can change you to any gender or even both, a race package, a superpower pack? A hair one too? Oh my, even potions that increased stats…”

There was practically nothing that wasn’t there, even pets, soul-modifying items, adult toys, books, and everything, were available and could be purchased!

“Zero, do they get these things from various worlds??” Dina questioned.

“These are all items from the bureau agents gotten from different worlds and allowed into the bureau for sale or purchase, an example is the popular Lord of Rings book that you saw, someone from your world I'm guessing brought it in,” Zero explained.

‘Shit! I would have brought my robotics and tried out if I could get anything!’

“Wait, can points be converted to money?” Dina suddenly asked.

“Yes, all currency regardless as long as it’s within a certain realm is with an equivalent rate of 1 point for 50 currencies. And am talking of the majorly used one, like between dollar and cents, dollars would have the 5x increase due to its more use.”

“So… so… I could be effing loaded after my contract depending on how many points I farm?” Dina stuttered in excitement.

“Yes.”

“YES! YES! FINALLY! Something great in this damn contract!” Dina cheered happily for a while before continuing her browsing.

*** Items will be referred to as normal tools while artefacts are like the ones with magic.

Items weren’t expensive but the artifacts, items with some unique ability had prices that were off the charts. Dina even saw one beauty package that could turn one into a succubus-type beauty with a purchase price of 250000000 points, there were so many zeros she just let it be.

Even if she borrowed points she still wouldn’t be halfway the price.

She loitered through the forum next when something caught her eye, a forum post where the author was wondering if someone was willing to buy a skill from him. Dina was shocked and swiftly browsed through the store tabs and sure enough, there was a skills tab.

Of course, it existed!

“Hey Zero aren’t I supposed to have skills, I mean although only for a short while, I did learn something with Genad and Paws,” Dina said, her heart lightly aching at the mention of their names.

“Indeed then shall I open your interface?”

“Yes please!”

}

Dina studied her interface in awe and almost couldn’t wait to try her skills out, their names were odd but she still couldn’t help but squeal in excitement, after all this was the first time she was experiencing all these things! She suddenly felt that transmigrating might not be that bad.

Her interface was divided into three namely, the main tab which shows her stats and rewards, Items/Artefacts tab which shows the items/artefacts currently within her clutches and lastly, a skills tab.

{Items/Artefacts:

Omniscience narrator (Rare): A rare artifact that explains the world’s plot naturally in the mind like a narrator. Also identifies major characters in the plot.

Luck pill (Common): Increases the luck stat by 30%. One-time use.

Map duplicator (Noble): Can duplicate any map below the rare level. Three-time use.

Scent assaulter (Noble): Assaults the senses, temporarily increasing the Transmigrator’s Looks stat by 50%. Maximum use is three times.

Evolutionary Bow and Arrow (Noble): A masterpiece by the fallen gnomes of Styr with unending arrows possessing impeccable tracking.

Clothing (Common): They're not resealable so just find a way to make use of 'em.

/

“The bow and arrow actually… they came with me!” Dina exclaimed happily, she knew it would but still felt exhilarated that it was there. At least she had something to hold onto that could remind her of her group.

Moving to the skills tab she was pleasantly surprised there were more skills than the one she was gifted, and it seemed to be from what she had learned from World two, they didn’t go to waste!

{Skills:

[Am I a beauty? (Level 1): Stun your opponent for five seconds with a fairy-like pretense]

[Kiss Me Liar (Level 1): Make your lie more believable with a kiss. The effect is greater depending on how deeply you’re trusted, gains a hypnotic effect at lv5]

[Name a pet, you might just have it! (Level 1): The possibility of you taking that stubborn pet increases if you name it, even more if it likes your name! So don’t be a sucker at names or you lose your pets, becomes a taming ability at lv10]

[Archery (Level 3): The simple act of shooting something other than your foot with a pointy and bendy stick called a bow and arrow. The higher the level, the greater the Transmigrator’s proficiency and the possibility of hitting the target. Have some interesting evolutions so look forward to it T!]

[Knife play (Level 2): Playing with knives is way more fun when the vegetables bleed isn’t it? The higher its level the better you are at playing throwing, stabbing, and darting games, with veggies (that bleed) of course]

[Bloodlust (Level 1): I’m having a craving for blood, are you? I wonder if they come with chocolate….? When activated the Transmigrator gets a free pass from the feels and more of the need for blood]

[Artifact Awakener (Level 2): With this skill your touch could seduce any artifact and as long as you don’t touch an evil one you should be good.]

}

Dina chuckles slightly at the definition, so not all Bureau agents apart from Transmigrators are robotics like Zero, huh? Sure some of the skills were ominous, to say the least, however, after going through world two, she now knew that killing and other morally questionable actions were things she’d better start getting used to as soon as she could to avoid screwing up her missions.

“Nice, nice. Lastly, Zero is there any way to remodel this place? Or am I only allowed a bed till the end of the contract?” Dina questioned seriously, no matter where, a cozy space was always the best, at least to her.

“You can, only a lot of points will be needed which you’re nowhere close to…”

“Ugh, are there more ways to garner points besides rewards?” Dina questioned.

“Gathering artefacts, items, skills for sale even information is good enough and you can of course convert other currencies to points although that is very expensive. But if you do find yourself in a high-ranking world with a more powerful currency then this method can be very useful,” Zero replied dutifully.

“How is currency value calculated by the bureau?” Dina contemplated.

“That’s very complicated, but the general rule is by the amount of energy it incurs. Like on Earth, the value of its currencies is higher than its fellow low-ranked world due to the power it holds. Money alone caused death, life, happiness, sorrow, and all sorts of collectible energies on Earth which is why unlike its fellow low-ranked world its rate is 5x rather than 10x.”

“So you’re saying worlds have rank and Earth is a low-ranked world?”

“Yes.”

“And that other low-ranked worlds like it have an exchange rate of 100: 1 but because of the amount of influence it has on humans creating a greater energy its exchange is higher with a rate of 50:1?”

“Yes.”

Dina was silent for a while contemplating, she hoped to transmigrate into a rich identity at least, if not on a higher ranked world, then, a world with the same exchange rate as Earth ah!

“Am more pumped than ever for this mission Zero! I’ll make sure to collect as many items as I can, sell them, and if the points add up remodel this whole space and get a cute little pet!” Dina squealed excitedly, this job just became more interesting, “Nothing else I should know right?”

“No.”

“Then let’s leave for the next mission this instant!”

/Normalities detected;

AIT and Transmigrator detected

To be dispatched;

Integrating command;

Identity formed;

The pair will be transferred in

7… 8… 5/

“Oh, I did miss something, Dina,” Zero suddenly spoke up catching Dina’s attention.

“What?”

“You were gifted an extra 500 points for the information you got from Styr but Jackson made me use it to purchase the potion that made you feel all better when you woke up.”

There was silence for a while as the stunned Dina digested what Zero had said and when it finally clicked, the count reached 0, and as the figures of the duo varnished Dina’s angry roars bellowed through the space.

***

‘That fucking bastard..!’ a still angry Dina seethed, someone with a high rank as his couldn’t be bothered to release 500 points, just 500! How stingy was he?!

“Damn you Zero, you should have told me earlier!” she would’ve ripped the bastard a new one.

“I’m sorry Dina, it escaped my memory…”

“Did it though?!”

After taking deep breaths to calm down, Dina finally decided to observe her surroundings.

Right now she should be in the body of her identity. Looking all around the tiny bathroom, anyone could have concluded that the identity she took was having a moment of release, however, the identity was fully clothed and held a halfway-open manga.

Which meant he had snuck into the bathroom to read mangas, definitely not an honor student. Before she could tell Zero to transfer the information about the identity, this world, and the target….

SPLASH!

A bucket of water was overturned on the identity's head soaking him from head to toe with water and completely ruining the manga which had gotten the worst of it all. Laughter was heard in the next door of the bathroom as the perpetrators trooped out, and walking right to his locked door mocked,

“Get your ass outta there weeb or else we’ll call the teacher lol.”

“Otaku bastard, hahaha.”

A completely soaked Dina was so shocked that it took her a moment to reboot and like the water it finally soaked into her that she was just doxxed with a bucket of water by brats!

“MOTHERFUCKING BASTARDS!!”
