Chapter 1: Episode 01
Hi! My name is Kurokawa Yuuki, I'm 29 years old salaryman, ah no, I'm a salarywoman exactly.
I've been working hard in my sweatshop company for more than 10 years, I chose to work here because finding vacancies is really hard here in Tokyo.
And just about 10 minutes ago, I died because of overworking, possibly from malnutrition, since I only eat lunchboxes from the nearby convenience store, so I guess it's very possible when it's added with my extreme tiredness.
Well, it all happened because of my own bad decisions, but I don't regret working my back off too much.
Since my earnings are largely spent for my brother's college tuition and living costs of grandparents after all, but if I could change something in my life... that will be I wish I was able fall in love.
From my childhood to the time I was in junior, and high school, where teens were supposed to experience things like in those love-comedy light novels. But, those never happened to me, why God is so cruel to me.
I might be not very bright or beautiful, but it should be easy for God to at least give just one experience. Well... it's totally all my fault though.
There is indeed one occasion I was asked to go out, but it's pushover that asked me out.
While my classmates might have already done sleeping with their boyfriends since that is the trend in having partners for young people.
Well, I'm not really into that, but still can't I even just have one chance to feel just like those characters in shoujo mangas. Damn it, God!.
And now the next thing I know, I found myself dead now. Here, alone in this dark space, I can't feel my own body, limbs, I can't feel my hands.
I don't know what will happen from now, why do I have to live such meaningless life, did I deserve to have such a colorless life, is it really all my fault? Answer me, God!
"It's not the Most Merciful's fault, human. I believe being your guardian for a long time, he had given you some chance to live a happier life"
"But you did sacrificed your own happiness for your family. And that is very admirable" someone suddenly talked directly to my mind.
And the very dark space turned white then changes to a blue sky with a lot of clouds and I started to feel my body again and I see the ground under my feet turning to be like a mirror with a bit of water flowing like those in a very shallow river.
This mirror-like ground reminds me of the world's largest salt flat I saw in TV, I can see the reflection of the sky amidst the ripples in the flow of water.
Then I see someone... or something was standing 5 meters in front of me, and he looks humanlike but he had some wings on his back and a jade colored halo above his head, but he looks like a normal Japanese. Is he God?
"No, no, I'm not God. I'm his loyal servant, an administrator of this world, you humans usually called us angels. And I'm here to talk with you, human. So you said that God was the one gave you a miserable life?" He said.
"Well, more or les-", "Are you blind? He was the one that has given you lots and lots of chances to have happier life"
"But you chose to sacrifice all that chances so you can get a job to feed your brother and help your grandparents. Which God came to admire you for it and he deemed you're a good human. But now, here, you blame Him?" He interrupted.
"Do you remember when Kiyotaka tries to befriend you in your elementary school? But you denied him even though he has a good intention," he told. I don't want to remember it. Stop this...
"Do you remember when Yuugo saved you from a lot of thugs on your way home because he loved you? But you thought he did all of it because he just want to sleep with you," he said.
"Stop..." I whispered, "Do you remember how Kanda struggled to help you when you're in financial crisis when you're in your high school years, he helped you to get a job in that restaurant?"
"Yet you rejected him instantly when he asked you out because you said you wanted to study and work seriously" he continued to speak.
"Stop!!" I shouted. I know, I did all this to myself, because I've always hated myself, and I thought I was never worthy of receiving any of their kindness, I'm ugly, badmouthed, stupid...
I'm... not worthy to live happy after... after that accident. I should've been the one who died in that car accident, not my parents, because of me, my brother doesn't have parents anymore and my grandparents felt really sad and mourn them all the time.
I can't hold my legs anymore and then I fall down and started to cry. Then that guy touched my shoulder "My dear human, you deserve to live happily, that accident is not your fault, it's not anyone's fault! He took your parents because he loved them, it's not your fault" he said.
I then shook him off since I don't want him to touch me. "Don't touch me, you don't know anything about me, you're no one to me!" I yelled.
"Well then, how about this," he said and then he shapeshifted into my late mother.
Looking at her smiling once again... I can't hold my tears and cried heavily. Then she hugged me.
"It's not your fault, Yukki-chan... Thank you for taking care of your brother and your grandparents, you have done your best," she said. "Mom... I missed you so much..." I hugged her back
I continued crying and after a while, I stopped, and then he shapeshifted back to his original self, "Why do you have to turn into my mom?" I angered.
"Oh, that's not me, it's your mom's final message for me to relay to you before her soul is taken in care by God, that is purely your mom's will, you're so lucky to have such a kind mother" he commented.
I smiled "Thank you for relaying it to me. So, what's gonna happen to me now? Will I meet my parents?" I asked.
He smiled "That's one of the choices God asked me to offer to you, while the other one is a chance to be reincarnated, but not in your previous world, but in another world" he explained.
"Another world? Like in those Isekai animes, mangas, and light novels?" I asked. "Almost, but of course, there is a chance that you might be not reincarnated as a human"
"Your choice is either to go to the endless cycle of life, you can meet your parents and dead relatives, but you will have to wait for a very long time to be reincarnated back in your previous world, and if I speak a long time, I mean centuries-long" he explained.
"You can choose that or you can choose to be reincarnated in another world, but you might be not reincarnated as a human. But I can guarantee you'll meet your parents when your life is ended in another world"
"I will of course give you some gifts like some abilities or skills or just plain items to help you live happily in that another world" he explained.
Hmmm, I will have to think about this very seriously, and also hasn't he been reading my mind all the time until now? "Wow, you sure are a late bloomer. Well, you always have been like that" he commented. I blushed, "Sorry for being late bloomer" I said.
"You don't have to be so embarrassed, yes, I have been reading your mind all this time. So what is your choice?" He asked.
After long deliberations, I sighed and smiled, "I guess mom and dad have to wait for me, please reincarnate me in another world" I affirmed.
He smiled, "Nice choice, then make yourself sure you've made the best decision, okay here are the fateful spin the wheels!" He exclaimed.
Then 2 spin-the-wheel roulette appears, is this a game? "It's not a game, this roulette will decide which world will be reincarnated in, next will determine what you'll be when you're reincarnated, so pray for your luck," he said.
I breathed in heavily then I spun the first wheel, after spinning for a while the pointer land on an option, then I saw him smirking.
"Nice! you're lucky, the world that you'll be reincarnated in is a world with swords and magic!" He declares.
Yay! "But, it also has a lot of other races besides humans, so your chance to be reborn as a human is low" he continued. "Wow, you sure are able to ruin it" I sulked.
"Well, I can guarantee that you're not going to become a monster, you could be an elf or a dryad," he said and my expectations goes back up again.
"Spin the next wheel, I hope you're lucky, but even if you're not reincarnated as a human, I will do my best to help you" he affirmed.
What is with him, why did he tease me too much, he ruined my expectations. Well, I have to be ready whatever it's going to be, I hold my breath and spin the second wheel.
I closed my eyes, scared of the result, after it spun for a little while it stops, I can hear him laughing, oh no. Then I slowly opened my eyes. It landed on "Platinum Wolf".
"Whaaaaaaaaat! A Wolf? You said that I won't be a monster, a Wolf is a monster!" I yelled. "Well, technically, it's an animal. I'm very sorry, but that's the result" he said.
"Can't I redo the spin?" I asked. "Nope, but don't worry, as compensation, I will give you some helpful skills, you'll be thankful for having these," He said and he put his hand on my forehead.

Ugh, my head hurts so bad and it became really heavy, I suddenly heard a new voice talking directly to my mind, is it him again?
"You're being rude, it's not me, it's just how skills are required, it's The Voice of the System's voice confirming your acquired skills" he frowned.

Again, my head hurts so bad every time it happens. What are these skills? "Could you explain to me what is a Platinum Wolf?" I asked him after the pain calmed down.
"A Platinum Wolf is not like other wolves that usually hunted or frightened by humans, they are usually revered as sacred, powerful protector wolves, supposed to be guardians of hunters, they never kill human unless it's needed and protected humans from danger"
"They are the strongest of their kind, usually the alpha of a pack, feared and respected by their kin, they have higher chance to evolve to humanoid form, a Werewolf to be exact, it's still much better" he explained.
I see, at least I'm not going to be hunted by humans, but I also don't want to fall in love with some wolf, I'm lucky if I can evolve to a humanoid form. Wait, are humans allowed to marry beast people?
"Yes, a lot of humans married beastmen, elves, a lot more races, don't worry, you still have a chance to find someone and fall in love," he said. I think the voices stopped, is it over? "Nah, there are still some left behind," he teased.

"Well, that's it for my choices for your skills, is there any kind of skill you want? I can give you 2 more skills" he offered.
"Then, could you give me skill that allows me to see, hear, taste, smell, and grasp better and also a telepathic skill?" I asked and then he nodded.

Then my head hurts again, "Ugh, why it always hurts every time it happens?" I loathed. "It's because the skills are being ingrained in your soul core, it's gonna hurt a bit" he explained.
After he explained, suddenly, there is a pillar of light coming from beneath me, "Oh, it's time already, that light will bring your soul to the new world and God will reincarnate you there" he said.
I feel a bit sad, I'm so thankful for what he has done for me, even if we just met like 30 minutes ago. "Don't look at me like that. Do your best to survive, live happily, you deserve it, good luck in your next life" he motivated.
"Could you explain to me about the skills I have before I go?" I asked. "Nope, there's not much time, use your unique skill [All-Knowing], it will explain all the skills and all the thing you want to know, hope you have a good life, and see you later after you died in that world" he smiled and waved at me.
The pillar of light getting brighter and there is a strong gusts of wind coming from the bottom of the pillar of light, "Can you at least tell me your name?" I shouted.
He smiled and spread his wings and his halo shine brilliantly, "My name is Uriel, Keeper of the God's Covenant, Angel of Repentance, Guide of the Souls whose painted in God's Color, yours included" he said and he waved me goodbye.
The gusts became overwhelming and the light blinded me. Well, I have to face this new world even if I'm reincarnated as a wolf, I have been given a chance to have a happier life, and so I will take it.
This is a leap of faith, so I'll leap as high as I can.
