Chapter 4: The new Tenant
"Oh okay". She closes the door.
Four day passes no one comes for the apartment.
"Hey, Lucy! How is your roommate hunt going ?"
"Not good only a guy came by that's it "
Jeffery runs towards them *panting*
"They found... They found the culprit"
"What?" Lucy stands up.
"Are you serious?" Rohan stands and hands out water.
"Yeah I'm dead serious let's go The police asked you to come, Lucy, "
"Yeah I'm coming I will apply for leave today"
They rush out and goes to the police station.
They see a person who is a somewhat tall, weird hairstyle and cuffs on his hands. Jeffery wanted to rip that person But suppressed his anger.
"Can I talk to him, officer?" Lucy asks.
"Sure thing, go ahead, anyways he's cuffed he won't do anything we haven't interrogated him yet," the Police officer says.
"Thankyou" Lucy goes inside, she stares up and down "Why did you kill her?"
"What are you talking about?" the culprit.
"Quit it ... Why were you in Roshinis house ?"
"I... I'm a thief I saw luxurious and valuable things so I intended to steal it. "
"Then why did you kill her?"
"What I didn't kill anyone I'm just a thief I steal things I will never murder someone or have murdered someone."
"Stand up, " Lucy asks him.
The culprit stands up Lucy approaches to see the height.
She comes out of the interrogation room.
"Sir! He's not the one I encountered that day"
"How are you sure that it's not him"
"I really remember well, that person was taller than me. He is not tall at all he is just as tall as Roshini "
"Okay ma'am we will investigate it thoroughly but he and... you were the only ones who were there that day as it shows in the recording of CCTV footage."
"Did you guys got the postmortem report? When was she killed? "
"1 day and 12hrs before you guys arrived at the crime scene"
"That means you guys should check the footage the day before me and the burglar came which means you have to see the morning footage."
"Yes we will"
"Please find that person soon"
"Yes, we will! it's our duty"
They came back depressed. Hanged out for a while in the garden.
"Hey, should I just call that guy. I am now more afraid as no one is around me" Lucy sighing.
"I guess you should that way you wouldn't be afraid of any other person he will be like your small bodyguard" Jeffery Pat's her shoulder.
"Mmm I will call him to move into my apartment"
Lucy takes out the piece of paper that the guy gave her and dials the number.
"Hii you were the one who came to my apartment for a room... Yes, it's available ..... You can move tomorrow... Yeah sure ... Okay, see you tomorrow" Lucy hangs up the phone.
"Let's go home now " Rohan stands up "yeah let's go"
The other day arrives still Lucy gets startled every time the alarm rings. She washes herself up.
*Bell rings*
Lucy opens the door the man from the other day comes with a suitcase.
"Hi ... I'm Lucy I'm the owner of the apartment" "Hi I'm Jay"
"Please come in but I have to say you will only be living here for 1 and a half month "
"Yeah I'm fine with that I will finish my work and leave soon to my hometown."
