Chapter 37: Hope

Magic was something that everyone had a longing for.

It was up to fate whether one was able to fulfill this longing or not. Majority were not fated for it, but those that were often headed for greatness.

It could raise one from gutters to the golden towers of nobility or cast one to the lowest depths of hells.

Every child heard about the stories of mages and the power of magic, wanting it for themselves. Asher had yearned for it the same, but that dream had been shattered long ago.

And now the words of a heretic were mending those shattered pieces of the dream.

"I… I can use magic?" Asher questioned, his doubts preventing him from believing his ears.

"Of course!" The heretic replied.
