Chapter 7: Nascent Soul
It was a very boring 8 days since I couldn't do anything due to Gao Feng cultivating inside the Cultivation Tower for the whole time. On a side note, he managed to breakthrough twice, reaching Foundation Establishment Stage 6.
I am currently sitting on the bed in his room while he is studying some weird book I don't understand nor want to understand while staring in front of me.
[A Quest has been issued: Defend Gao Feng from the assassins.
-Rewards if Gao Feng is uninjured: 5 Beast Pills, 500 points and a random skill
-Rewards if Gao Feng is slightly injured: 5 Beast Pills, 400 points
-Rewards if Gao Feng is heavily injured: 3 Beast Pills, 100 points
-Penalty if Gao Feng is dead: Level reset to 1]
'Huh. The rewards are really good, but that probably means the assassins will be strong. Well, as long as they are not at Nascent Soul or the peak of Golden Core, I should be able to beat them with my Lightning Assault and powerful body.'
Currently, due to my body being constantly strengthened day per day, my body is on par with someone who is at the peak of Golden Core, but that is just my body alone, and not my skills, so it would be hard to beat an actual peak Golden Core cultivator, but anybody below that stands no chance again me unless I am careless.
'I wonder when the assassins will be coming. Actually, why are assassins even coming after Gao Feng in the first place?'
I couldn't understand why assassins were being sent after Gao Feng in the first place, but it doesn't matter to me unless he dies, which he won't. Either way, I just need to protect him and get my rewards at the end.
"Gao Feng, I just got a Quest to protect you from assassins, so get ready for a fight."
"What! Dammit, why are people always trying to kill me?!"
He complains bitterly but still gets ready by putting some armor on and grabbing his sword, while having his Tier 2 Healing pills ready just in case. As for me, I just sit on the bed and wait for the assassins to come.
They don't take long, coming barely an hour later. I could count a total of 5 assassins, and when they barge into the room, I instantly jump at one and bite at his throat, but he managed to bring his arm up in time, making me only bite his arm.
He screams out which attracts the attention of the other 4, and 2 of them run towards me and the other two run towards Gao Feng, leaving me to fight against 3 while he has to fight against 2 of them.
I could feel the cultivation of all the assassins, and was glad that the ones attacking me were only at Golden Core Stage 3 while the ones attacking Gao Feng were only Golden Core Stage 1 cultivators, meaning he won't die quickly.
I dodge a sword strike and palm from two of the assassins while i bite the third one on the crotch, making him squeal like a dying pig and fall to the ground while clutching his crotch. I take this chance to bite the back of his neck, ripping his head partially off and killing him instantly.
I peek at Gao Feng and notice that he has light injuries on his body, but not any heavy injuries, which is good. He is fighting the assassins evenly, doing more harm to them then they to him. It seems his fighting in the forest a while ago helped his strength grow immensely.
Back to the other two assassins, I target the one with the sword first, as he is more of a pain. I run at him and dodge the palm from the other guy, while biting onto his sword while he slashes it at me, and surprisingly enough I break it in half with my sharp fangs, much to my delight and his horror.
He tried to make some distance between us, but I gave him no chance to do so and bite his left leg, leaving it crippled and causing him to fall onto the ground. Jumping in the air to dodge a palm strike from the other assassin, I land behind the assassin on the ground and bite the other leg of his while he tries to stand up, causing him to fall back onto the ground.
Finally, I bite the back of his neck and pull on it hard, ripping out most of it from his body, leaving him dead as could be. The third assassin was horrified by me and tried to run away, but I gave him no chance to do so as I ripped his throat out with my claws.
Finally done with the three assassins on me, I look over towards Gao Feng to see how he is doing. I was a bit surprised when I noticed that he was still lightly injured and even somehow managed to kill one of the assassins and is currently fighting the other one.
I waste no time in rushing towards the final living assassin, leaving a deep injury on his back using my claws, which gave Gao Feng enough time to be able to stab the assassin in the chest with his sword, which killed him.
Gao Feng was taking deep breaths while I just sat on the bed calmly, since I already expected it to be this easy for me to kill them. After all, who would send a peak Golden Core or Nascent Soul cultivator to kill a little Foundation Establishment one?

I ignore Gao Feng who is healing himself with a Tier 1 Healing pill and take out all 5 Beast Pills, swallowing them instantly and turning them into energy that spread throughout my body.

'Ah, no difficulty in choosing. I choose the Weapon Body Perk, as it is the most useful to me. If I was a Human Cultivator, I would choose Elemental Body or Hollow Body Perk, but since I am a Heavenly White Tiger, the Weapon Body Perk is the best one for me.'

I close my eyes and imagine myself turning into a human, and I was suddenly glowing brightly for a few seconds before I felt my body different from before. Opening my eyes, I realized it worked perfectly and I am finally in a human body again.
I have long silver hair that reaches my waist, purple eyes, a small nose and seductive lips. My skin is a snowy pale white, while my body is standing at about 5'6". My legs are nice and long, while my breasts are about C-Cup.
"Wha-wha-what are you doing! Put something on!"
I was surprised by Gao Feng's sudden outburst and looked down at my body, and instantly realize I am completely naked. Extremely embarrassed, I quickly buy a black dress from the Shop, as well as underwear for 50 points and put them all on while Gao Feng turned around.
I looked in a mirror that is beside the bed and notice that my face is completely cold even though I am embarrassed, which is exactly how I wanted it. I don't want anybody to be able to see through my thoughts by looking at my face, so I chose to have an extremely cold and unapproachable face, which means hopefully nobody will bother me.
"Jeez! That surprised me! I didn't expect you to suddenly be able to turn into a human, did you get some kind of massive reward from the Quest or something?"
"Yep. I got 5 Beast Pills and 400 points. I ate all of the Beast Pills, and I am currently at the peak of Nascent Soul, so I am able to turn into a human whenever I want. As long as my body is female, I can form it however I want. I could be an old lady, a young girl like now, a middle aged woman or a little kid."
"Wait! You said you are at the peak of Nascent Soul now?!"
"Yeah, that's right. What is it?"
I tilt my head a bit because it isn't that surprising I am at the peak of Nascent Soul. With how many Beast Pills I have gotten from Quests recently, it isn't much of a surprise for me to reach the peak of Nascent Soul already.
"Damn! The Headmaster of the Academy is only at the peak of Nascent Soul! You are freaking on par with the Headmaster!"
"Ohhh..."
Now that was a surprise. I thought that the Headmaster of this Academy would be at least Immortal Body, but it seems I overestimated him and he is merely at the peak of Nascent Soul like me. Well, not like it matters.
I am still thinking about why assassins were sent after Gao Feng when the door was suddenly opened and a few teachers rushed inside. Seeing the 5 dead assassins on the ground and both me and Gao Feng sitting inside unharmed, the teachers all let out a sigh of relief before looking at me in surprise.
"Who are you, if I might ask?"
"Hm~ You could consider me as Gao Feng's guardian, I guess?"
I thought for a moment before deciding to say I was his guardian. It seems like it worked, since the teachers all thanked me for protecting him, which I did indeed do. They took all 5 of the dead assassins out of the room and closed the door behind them, leaving as quickly as they came.
