Chapter 2: The End and a new Beginning
'Is this the afterlife?' I wonder, as I feel myself drifting? I don't know if that's right, I cant 'feel' anything per say, I just seem to 'know' that I'm drifting. 'What was that voice before...' I begin to ponder as my thought slowly shift toward the cause of my death.
'No, none of it matters anymore.' I begin to tell myself. 'I'm already dead, what difference does it make?'
My mood is slightly depressed as I continue to slowly 'drift' towards whatever lies next. I once again think about that voice that was strangely familiar. 'Where have I heard it before...' I voice out, only to hear nothing in return. As I was drifting through seemingly nothingness, I couldn't help but feel whatever was dragging me started to speed up.
'Perhaps the end on the line?' I think, unaware of the quite literal storms my second birth will bring...

Pov; Third
In the Kingdom of Elucid, in a certain palace, the sounds of a baby crying is heard. "Congratulations lady Raiden, its a healthy baby girl!" an older lady in a Victorian style maid uniform said. Her eyes showed wisdom, obviously experience with this kind of work, evident by the signs of aging on her face.
"Let me see her" a weak yet beautiful voice called out, signaling for the newborn. "Of course my lady" the maid replies as she bundles up the baby and hands her to the now weak mother. The lady known as Raiden weakly takes her bundle of joy as she brings her close to her heart. "My baby girl..." she murmurs.
"I shall name you Ei, Raiden Ei..." she lovingly says as the child starts to giggle. Raiden stops for a moment, then continues saying, "Your mother is sorry, the path you have to take will be a difficult one, I regret I wont be able to see you grow..." a tear threatens to fall from her face.
The baby, seemingly sensing the shift the atmosphere, went silent staring at her mother.
"How selfish of me, bringing you into this world knowing I wouldn't be able to walk beside you... I hope you can forgive me, and always know, no matter what path you take, no matter what you do in the future, your mother will always love you in her heart".
The child seeing her mother in pain, reached out to touch her pale face. Raiden brought the newborn Ei to her embrace, tears falling down her face.
The mother and daughter sat together in silence, until finally she asked her maid "Did he come Aiko?" she asked with a bit of hope.
The maid, seeing her lady with that hopeful face, sighed in regret, "His majesty... hasn't come."
"I see." was all she heard in return.
After a bit of silence, Raiden spoke up with a tinge of sadness in her voice, "Aiko... take care of Ei for me would you?"
The maid with tears in her eyes replied, "of course my lady! I shall take care of her with all my might!"
After hearing an affirmation, the young mother nodded in content. Closing her eyes with a small smile on her face, her breath slowing down. Slowly but surely her body became particles of light, flying out into the wind. The newborn child, missing the warmth of her mother, started crying out with all her might.
The next few days were full of thunderstorms ravaging the world, seemingly mourning the death of the primordial spirit of thunder...

2 years later, Ei POV;
A girl sits by herself, swinging her feet in thought. 'Its been 2 years already, I still cant believe I'm alive'. Yes, you guessed right dear viewer, our protagonist finds herself alive again in a seemingly medieval era. As she think to herself about the previous 2 years of embarrassment, Yes! Embarrassment! Not being able to control her urges, pooping and peeing seemingly whenever. Constantly crying for almost everything. Of course its embarrassing, she was a 30 year old business tycoon in her past life, how could she not be embarrassed! Grumbling to herself about her grievances, she is taken out of her thought by the sound of footsteps, and a voice calling out her name.
"Ei darling, are you there? Its time for your bath."
"Yes aunty Aiko" I yell out, hopping off the bench I was seated on, while walking back towards the estate. "Ei darling, what were you doing out here?" The maid asks.
"Thinking" I absent mindlessly respond continuing on the stone path.
"At least bring a coat, its getting chilly soon, wouldn't want you getting a cold".
A valid concern for most people, but I recently discovered I'm practically immune to cold weather. Still nonetheless I respond with a nod as we make our way back to the estate to take a bath.
After I'm done bathing I head to my room by myself, while trying to make sure no one is following me.
"Finally..." I murmur, as I stretch out my hands as I circulate what I have come to know as mana into my fingertips. Normally, children my age wouldn't be able to circulate mana until they turn 6 as that is when the 'Awakening' ceremony is held, to awaken their mana and for adults to see what children have potential to teach and those who don't.
(AN: Not much information is known, at least that I know of, regarding how people, specifically children go about 'awakening' skills or of how they know what skills they have, (I've heard that mana or magicules, are dangerous to children and even adults) so I'm just ganna go ahead and create a scenario on how I think it works, let me know what you think.)
As I'm considered a half spirit, my body is made at least partly by magicules, allowing me access to the energy beforehand.
I'm broken out of my thoughts by the little arc of lightning, dancing between my fingertips. Seeing this has always made me happy, the lightning always reminds me of my mother, who's eyes reminded me of an elegant thunderstorm, dancing through the night sky.
"Sigh, I wish I could be like you little thunder, flying through the sky with no cares at all..." I voice out to no one in particular, as I gaze out my window to the clear night sky, slowly but surely succumbing to sleep.

Anyways, the story is going to be pretty slow in the beginning so dont expect her to be a demon lord fighting guy crimson at chapter 5 or anything, i plan on taking my time to develope Ei as a character before she interacts with people from the main cast. (Spoiler it takes place way before canon, when exactly i wont tell you, youll just have to wait and see!).
