Chapter 1: chapter 1
"Father I will never ever marry him," she spat out at her father for the first time in her life.
"And who are you to decide that," her father walked up to her and held her chin up.
"For my whole life I had always obeyed you not questioned your authority now you can't just let me do this," she said again.
"You had always obeyed because that is your place, you can never question me," her replied throwing her by her chin.
"you don't even know who he is, just because your company want to grow, you are trading your daughter for the growth of your company," she said again.
The man in front of her just giggled as he walked up to her and slapped her face.
"My daughter did I just hear you say my daughter," the man said.
"You yourself know you ain't my daughter you might be but I have never considered you as one Lilith," the man said.
Tears rolled down Lilith face gently as she stood up, she also has never considered him as father not even once in his life. She is just mad that the man she lived with all this while now wants to marry her off, no he wants to sell her off to an unknown man probably very older than her.
"That's what I thought,the man said to Lilith as she walked to her room.
"You are marrying him and that is final," the man said again.
"You better talk to your daughter," the man said to a lady sitting across the room watching the drama.
Lilith walked upstairs to her room as she opened the door. The design of the door was a flush door with a long vertical metal handle. She walked into the room and sat on the chair directly in front of her bed. Her room was by no doubt very pretty. The design was exquisite and pretty.
She sat down on the chair and curled herself up as she wept quietly and bitterly.
She soon fell asleep in the position as she did every night, she sometimes might wake up in the middle of the night and adjusted herself to sleep and sometimes she'd sit in her closet,closed the door and sleep. It's her own way of shutting herself away from the world around her.
The next morning as she woke from the chair she slept last night, she stood up and stretched her hands and legs, she went straight to the window and opened the curtains as her usual practice and stand there for about few minutes think about her life and cry. After she'd go to the bathroom to take her bath. Lilith was very beautiful no doubt about it though she'd herself because of her parents.
She came out of the bathroom in a towel with her hair tied in buns. she sat on the chair in front of her mirror and applied cream and other stuffs on her body, she was not the fashionista type but she liked smelling and looking good. She removed her hair tie letting her long curly black hair fall in waves reaching just below her waist.
Immediate she finished she headed downstairs and sat by the table where dinner was being served already.She was never allowed to take care of things in the house. Not that she didn't know how to cook but her father told her mother not to allow her cook things they are going to eat. she had always want to cook and bake. she do enjoy watching those who do it.
She sat gently by the table with her mother and father. As she sat she seemed to have forgotten the rule her father gave her, because there are things going on in her as she sat.
"What did I tell you should I repeat myself over and over again for you to obey," her father said his voice causing fear.
"Am so sorry," Lilith said as she stood up immediately her hands shaking.
Soon a lady,a little younger than Lilith walked in and sat just across her mother.
"Good morning father and mother," she said as she sat nonchalantly.
Immediately she said that, Lilith immediately sat down. Yes she is not allowed to sit before her younger sister will.
"Good morning my dear rose," her father said. Her mother doesn't really gets involved with the things in the house because she was married just the way Lilith was about to be taken. It baffles her but she didn't want to be involved.
She would look at Lilith with pity in her eyes sometimes, and not help but wonder how she will survive her own life being opened to a new world after being locked and being an outcast almost her whole life.
"So I have picked a date already I don't want it to drag on like that," her father said looking at his food.
"She is finally getting married, rose said glancing at her.
Rose knew Lilith was absolutely beautiful than her, with her crystal clear eyes and her long curly hair she had always been insecure around her. She'd sometimes want to harm her.
"I really hope you get loved in your new house,her father said. but then again I heard that he is evil, promiscuous, he doesn't forgive people easily just a single mistake your head might be sent home to us her father said making her stomach disorganized and her hands were shaking.
"Don't worry at least he is rich," her sister told her smiling.
"Getting your head back home as a gift intrigues me though," she continued.
