Chapter 24: Netflix-and-chill **

Benjamin kept a cool demeanour all the whilst musing over what his son had just said to him. The longer he mulled over Kaiden's erratic accusations just now, the more the boy's words resonated somewhat jumbled up inside his head. Because what in hell's fury was his opinion supposed to mean? Mr. Chase internalised his pressing need to get angry. 

''All I've ever done or aimed to do was for your own good. Hell yeah, it's all been for the fuckin good of my family. All of you! Do you really see no trace in that?''

''Wrong, dad. You're doing all this shit for yourself. Not us!'' 

''How dare you?''

''There's nothing to dare. Guess the truth just freaking hurts after all.''

Kaiden hissed a curt sigh.

''What has come over you, boy?'' His dad fumed, ''Do you even acknowledge my presence at all? Do you know I could get you arrested for addressing the Mayor of this State with such ill-bred words? Are you mad!?''
