Chapter 2: CH 2 Gazes
Finally reaching the destination. Keito parked his luxury car amidst the array of same class vehicles.
Tonight is New Year's eve and he can't wait any longer to celebrate the New Year with his regained freedom.
Unfastening his seatbelt he glance back again over Keziah only to find her already leaving the car, and just like that, not caring anymore about the girl, he also exited and strode faster towards the Event hall.
Chandeliers and wines, all posh and elegant, the Renaissance interior matches the night's theme of royal charity ball.
As soon as Keito entered all eyes were set on him, his tall gorgeous built match his dark armani suit perfectly while his blonde hair gives off a royalty vibe, his deep blue eyes scanned the grand hall, and a playful smirk form from his thin lips seeing all the lovely ladies present. Walking with all pride and charisma, he joined the group of crowd forgetting the woman behind him.
An arm suddenly hooked around his neck dragging Keito to a corner. " I thought you'll broke up with her? How come you came with her tonight? "
Knowing his best friend Luke, the busybody won't stop him unless he spilled all the beans. " Can't you see we're not going to sit together? We broke up already alright!" Shaking away from Luke they both glanced at Keziah then back to each other.
" But she came out of your car, with a usual peaceful vibe, without swollen eyes from crying, infact she looks nonchalant as ever." Luke pointed out as a matter of factly.
" She's always like that, emotionless as doll, don't mind her anymore. What's important is I'm free again without any hassle or drama from breaking out with a virgin " Keito said proudly.
" OK fine, Mr playboy, you're one hell lucky dude! enjoy your night! " then Luke walk away realizing there's no drama to entertain him.
Chatters around the hall continued for a few more minutes until the lights dimmed a little indicating that the event is about to start. The fore tables were reserved for the most eligible delegates and that is where Keito will be seated.
Kez already breaking up with Keito find no right to sat with him again so she settled in a table near the corner. Everybody in the room noticed the odd changes between the two, and most ladies cheered inside realizing that the best fish in the sea is free again.
Kez is a daughter of a famous politician, but after her father died, life became rough on her. She studied hard and worked hard at the same time, she graduated with triple major and flying colors, and now she's the vice president of the top company in Asia. But aside from her renowned accomplishments, people in high society view her nothing more than a geek. Maybe because unlike the other girls she dislikes parties and elegant dresses, she prefers not wearing make up most of the time and is comfortable with her flat working shoes. Even in events as elegant as the charity ball she would pass as the plainest girl amongst the crowd.
Kez watched how Keito stood out from the crowd, as if he's the star of the night. He has an air and a bearing that everybody would adore or envious to and without doubt he is indeed the best bachelor in Asia; son to the legendary tycoon, owner of Mizuhara Corporation, and not to mention his net worth that topped not just in Asia but also competes around the world. He is practically perfect in any aspect, and Kez knew that right from the moment he became hers', their relationship won't last long, infact she knew that Keito just used her for the company's sake, but inspite knowing that there's no love at all, she gave in because he's the first guy she ever liked.
Keito as if feeling someone is staring at him, turned his head to a certain corner and met Keziah's gaze, but the soonest their eyes met, both shifted their sight as guilt washed over the ex lovers.
Denial and Pretentious, both whisphered to themselves; it's all over alright... it's all over.
