Chapter 1: The Day It All Began
It was all like a nightmare. A kind of nightmare that makes the clown ones I previously had look like a child's play in comparison.
I wasn't sure what I was expecting from my bus driver who was usually drunk, but today he outdid himself. The fat piece of cow dung had crashed our bus to a nearby building, probably due to seeing someone crossing the road. The dude didn't even hesitate. Due to this, now more than 20-grade schoolers are stuck inside this bus. Some are dead, and some, just like me, are awaiting their deaths.
Just my luck. I shouldn't have gone to school today. It was the last day of school before the summer breaks, and now it has turned into the last day of my life!
My aunt, how is she going to cope with the loss? She is hopeless without me. Who is going to remind her to take her meds? Both my parents died in an accident, and now I'm going to die in an accident as well.
God, you are too funny, man.
Tears dripped from my eyes, and I tried my hardest to not let the fear overtake me. If I lose faith now, then there is no way for me to survive this. I must get out.
Gritting my teeth, I use all the strength my little body can muster and push myself off my seat. My head was bleeding, and there were more than a few cuts all over my body. Gosh, I must look like a dead child walking!
Moving towards the emergency exit, which was blocked by the very possible dead kid from my school, I pushed him off his seat. I didn't mean to be disrespectful, but currently, I have got no choice. My safety is my top priority right now.
Taking a deep breath, I put my feet off the window, before using both my hands to push myself off the bus. Right now, I could not be happier for being a child. My small body has helped me cross this emergency exit window without much issue.
Getting out, my eyes got assaulted by the sunlight. I squinted my eyes in displeasure, before wincing in pain as I realized I received a few cuts near my eye as well.
As my eyes got adjusted to the sunlight, I realized where I was.
I was inside a hospital building, and the wall was broken by the bus I was in. Through the broken wall, that stupid sunlight was coming. There was the smell of blood in the air, which must be because so many of my schoolmates dying.
"...Is....anybody here?"
I whispered, my voice coming off a bit raspy. Gosh, I sound so weak-, no. I feel so weak.
"Listen to yourself talk, Edward! You can't be serious about this!"
"I'm serious Kara! I've seen those things out there! They are very much real!"
"You're unbelievable! You mean to tell me that you saw a bunch of dead people walking, who were eating everyone that comes into their vicinity? What kind of drugs are you on?!"
"I'm not on drugs! I'm serious- watch out! There is another one!"
The sound of a gun getting clocked reached my ears, and when I turned around, I was met with the faces of two people who looked horrified, but for different reasons.
The man, whose name must be Edward, was pointing his revolver at me with a frightened expression on his face. Judging by his bloodied uniform, he must be a police officer. The woman beside him was looking even more horrified, but I could tell it was after seeing my state as well as the crashed bus near me.
"Oh, my God! You need treatment, little guy!"
"Stay back, Kara! It is no boy! It is among them! Let me shoot it!"
"Put the gun down, Edward!"
The woman glared at him, making the man shrink back a little. Yeah, that's our police force for you.
"Treatment...." I gasp out, my vision turning blurry. "sounds...kind of nice..."
-With that, I lost consciousness.

So, finally, I'm writing a Walking Dead Fanfiction. I've always wanted to write this. I know the chapter was short, but the length of the chapter would increase as the story take its course.
Clementine is the Love interest, and no. I don't plan on including the TWD show in this book. It will solely focus on the game.
