Chapter 2: CHAPTER 1

Myths has it that when a meteor shower rains down the earth, a disaster will occur or maybe a war will happen, maybe something bad will happen or maybe not. Deen never really believed in anything superstitious but that doesn't mean she never read tales about them, a curiosity and just pure boredom does things and she's a curious person, trying to find answers to the questions she can't answer herself even if they're absurd.

It was raining so hard when Astra found her friend in the school's studio reserved only for senior art students. She watched silently as Deen tries to paint something in her already complicated art work. Deen is so caught up in her work that she didn't notice her friend behind her. Astra looked around and saw that her friend let the windows open making the room windy and cold. The room is quite a mess because of the wind, rolled papers are scattered everywhere, some paint brushes are strewn around Deen and specks of paints are drying on the ground.

Deen hates the cold and never been one to enjoy the rain unless it does something that benefits her. There are goosebumps forming in her arms but she haven't paid any mind on the cold even though she's slightly shivering. Astra took pity on her and went to close the windows. She fixed everything that the wind has scattered and adjusted the room's temperature, it was when the rain's sound is muted when Deen stopped what she's doing, the paint brush is midway towards the canvas when she contemplated in something before dropping it in the palette before putting them in the table next to her.

"Are you done yet? I brought you some foods" Astra said and went to the table where she put the foods. Deen followed her and sat at one of the chairs that Astra has fixed for them. "How long was I out?" she asked. "A day. We're supposed to meet for dinner." Astra said and only then that Deen noticed the time, someone must have turned the lights on while she's so caught up in her painting. She looked at Astra apologetically, "I haven't noticed the time. I'm sorry for skipping on you again." She's supposed to meet her friends for dinner today but Astra only shrugged her shoulders telling her that it's okay and they understand her. Deen has always been like that, she would disappear for days and lock herself in the studio or her apartment. She would sometimes forget the time and so her friends made it their mission to check up on her. Deen is always grateful when they do the little things for her and so she made sure to show them how thankful she is to them but there are times that she forget things and her friends always brush her off when she apologizes, "when inspiration hits, go for it, do your work, don't make us stop you." they'd say.

"Isn't this the meteor shower a few days ago?" Astra asked when she went to look closely at Deen's work. The color mix seems complicated at a far distance, a mixture of darker colors and little specks of white and silhouettes at the bottom part of the painting. "It is but it's not done yet." Deen's still not sure why of all the things she thought of painting, she chose the meteor shower. Stars or any heavenly bodies is not usually the things she paints but when she stared for so long in her blank canvas, she can only picture the meteors that her friends dragged her to watch in the middle of the night. "Your proffesors would be so happy that you finally choose to paint something different other than your mysterious and cold paintings."

"I'm thinking of putting that in the exhibit next month." Deen said contemplating if it would be a good idea to put something different in the center of her works. "I love this new style and if your professors will agree then go for it. Explore the different style in painting as they always say. But for now, I want you to finish that food and let's go home. Dark bags are starting to form under your eyes, you better sleep."

The rain has stopped when the two friends decided to go home. Astra and their other friend, Jrey, live in the dorms while Deen has her own apartment just a few minutes away from their school. Deen may be the youngest among the three friends but she's always been the brave one so right after walking Astra in the dorms she found herself walking alone in the streets when the rain starts to fall again. Her friend gave her an umbrella before they part but Deen didn't bother opening the umbrella and continued walking not minding the people looking at her strangely. She hates the rain, she hates the cold it brings, she also hate the mood the rain brings but one thing she loves about rain is the noise it brings because then, at least her apartment wont be so silent during the night.

Argo stands in front of the open gates when he felt a presence beside him. The valley of stars are only meant for the stars and it is where the dead goes before proceeding to their next destination but there are times that other beings visits the place especially when some of them are bored and want to peer down the earth or have a little chit-chats with the stars so he isn't that surprised to see other beings in the valley but his visitor is someone he hasn't seen for so long.

"Its been a while, hasn't it?" the presence beside him said. "It has been centuries when you last visited. What brings you here, Fate?" Argo asks before facing his visitor. "I've come to tell you that there will be a change in the wish that your favorite star has granted." Argo frowns at that, a wish can never be changed. The one that is granted will be the one fulfilled, even a new wish can't change that, everyone knows the rule. "That would be impossible. He was a special star. Wishes can't be changed and even if it can, no one can ever counter the wishes he has granted, even his brother can't do that." Argo said and Fate smiles at him. "You might have forgotten that I am Fate and I can change not just a human's fate but also the stars and other creature's fate. That star is special it seems, not only to the world but also to you, heavenly bodies, that the Sun and the Moon made a bet. They want to see how far can that wish go with their interference." Argo clenches his jaw right after hearing the word bet. He never felt this angry when the Sun and Moon are clearly mocking the last wish his friend has granted, the dead star only wanted the girl to be happy with her wish so why did someone took it for their own entertainment? He wants to interfere as well but that's against the law and so he only hopes for the best. "But no need to worry, no harm will be done. I only came here to tell you about the change, you might also want to see how this will end." And with that, Fate left the valley without a trace.
