Chapter 3: Victim number 2: Louise Jan-Tully

Another Tiring day of wasting my life away. Not a lot of people at the restaurant today.

" Louuu I'm bored." My friend Stephan says while cleaning the counter.

" Come on Steph." I say, " Its only twenty more minutes till our shifts over, then we can play video games at my place,"

Steph grumbled but continued to work.

He was the son of Gage, the owner of the restaurant, Steph was set to inherit the restaurant, but Gage wanted to do this whole thing where he had to prove that he was ready.

Steph begged me to apply for this job so that he wouldn't suffer alone. I agreed, I needed some extra cash anyway, and I've been friends with Steph since we were little, So I thought it would be nice to spend some time with him again after all these years.

I had moved away for a few years and the government had not allowed me to move back until all the goons were put in prison since all of them were gone, I could spend time in my hometown again.

After a long day of taking orders, and dealing with manager calling shrews, we were finally able to go home and play some games. As I was closing up, I saw something from the corner of my eye as I turned around, I saw that there was nothing there. Was that a trick of the light?

I ignored this and continued to talk trash with Steph about some of our most annoying customers.

As we were heading home, I had a weird feeling like someone was following me I tried to ignore the feeling, but it only became stronger as we got closer to our destination.

I took out my phone and asked Steph to take a photo of me using this opportunity to check if there was actually someone following us.

After he took it, I checked the photo, and I could see a black figure hiding behind a truck a few steps back. My blood ran cold.

I stopped walking and tried to keep my cool so my friend wouldn't get worried.

" Oh my gosh Bro! I almost forgot to TELL you I have something for you."

Steph turned around to look at me confused I showed him a note that I hadjust written on my phone.

" DON'T ACT SUSPICIOUS. Someone is following us, go inside and ring the alarm. "

Steph's eyes went wide, and he nodded his head hurriedly and gave me a thumbs-up sign.

" It's in the garage, I'll just go get it really quick." I said just in case the guy could hear us.

" Yeah, yeah. WhY dOn'T you go do that while I set up the controllers," Steph said in a tone that was totally not obvious at all.

I almost facepalmed right then and there but I had to keep my cool. But StEpH who completely misinterpreted my instructions and walked at a painfully slow pace which was also totally Not obvious at all!!

I sighed as I tried to discreetly feel for my gun under my coat, making sure I do not look suspicious to whoever was chasing me.

I made it a habit to carry weapons on me ever since the accident Five years ago. When people are out to get you, you learn to always be prepared.

I head to the garage maintaining a normal pace I opened the garage door and walked inside.

The moment I got inside the garage I increased my pace jumping into the closest doors, I pulled out my gun as I peeked through the door cracks waiting for them.

Whoever they might be.

I gripped the gun with my right hand, wrapping my middle, ring, and pinky finger around the handle, and resting it comfortably on my palm like I had been taught. I kept peeking through the door waiting.

Then suddenly someone walked in. They were wearing all black and both their head and mouth were covered by black cloth they had a tranquilizer gun in there which led me to believe that they were here to harm me but not kill me.

I assume they're after me, and not Steph since they followed me not him, and he would be safe in the house. Even if there were more than one Steph had probably already rung the alarm by now which means help is going to be here in about 10-15 minutes, so time was on our side.

But I wonder who would want to attack me, all of the people on their side were already in prison. Unless...

A noise pushed me out of my thoughts suddenly the person seemed to be moving towards me I prepped my gun aiming it towards his legs if he took one more step...

KABLAM!

The person groaned aloud, falling to the ground. I pressed a button and the garage slowly started to close I checked the door to make sure nobody had come in.

I opened the door slowly inching towards him like a lion stalking its prey. I put my gun to the back of his head, which rewarded me with a low grunt from the perpetrator.

" Who sent you?" I demanded while putting my foot on his tranquilizer gun and kicking it away.

" Well, I'm afraid that's something I can't tell you little lady " The man proclaimed which came out a bit muffled considering his face as smushed against the floor.

" Well considering your head is a few Seconds from getting blasted BrO I don't think you really got a choice,"

"Well, aren't you interesting," The man said turning his face slightly to meet mine

" Under better conditions I would be asking you out! A true pity isn't it." He continued twitching his lips into a cheeky grin that made me want to smash the head of my gun against his head.

" You're into women who shoot you in the leg, and pull a gun on you? " Is this dude serious?

" Not to be rude Mr. but I'm not really into the whole S and M play and honestly, I don't think that's healthy " I said while briefly wondering if this guy needed to be admitted into a psych ward.

" And are you forgetting that I have a gun against your head bro? Are you going to answer my question or go and meet your ancestor's? Because you're really starting to get on my nerves."

"First off I did answer the question, Second I'm not into 'S and M play' whatever that is, I just appreciate a feisty woman what's wrong with that? Third can I please get an Ice pack My leg is starting to really hurt?" The man continued to blabber on as I glared at him.

I sighed and stepped on his back; gun still pointed towards him. I took his tranquilizer gun, aimed it at him, and shot. 'I checked his limp body for anything suspicious and found a piece of paper with a fox symbol.

I sighed while looking at the piece of paper.

This was going to be a long day.

I tied his body up and called a number; that I thought that I would never have to call again. But it seems that the universe is pushing me towards them, and I was never one to push against the tide.

............................

" Target number two was a failure what are we going to do about this boss?"

"Hmm as expected she's going to be a bit harder to catch but no need to worry everything's going according to plan."

" Then why did we send an agent after her?"

" To find another."
