Chapter 24: A Duel of Dragons
Announcer: "Ladies and gentlemen, duelists young and old, welcome to the final duel in the semifinals of The Fortune Cup! On my left is Satellite's shooting star…YUSEI FUDO!"
Leo: "Yeah Yusei! Let's go!"
Bolt: "C'mon Yusei show 'em what you got!"
Yanagi: "You got this Yusei!"
Leo: "C'mon Luna you want Yusei to win right?"
Luna: "You know we're nowhere near the stage inside a giant stadium filled with people right? Plus he looks kinda focused."
Amelia: "She has a point. Besides, Yusei isn't in a normal duel right now."
Kai: "This isn't it duel, it's more like a psych session."
Amelia: "So you aren't worried about if he'll win?"
Kai: "Of course he'll win it's Yusei. I just hope the paramedics stay on standby."
Amelia: "Why wouldn't they?"
Kai: "No reason…"
Announcer: "And on my right side is Akiza Izinski, otherwise known as The Black Rose."
Stranger 1: "BOOOO! JUST LOSE ALREADY YOU WITCH!!"
Stranger 2: "QUIT WHILE YOU CAN YOU FREAK!"
Leo: "Why are they all being so mean to her? They haven't even met her…"
Kai: "People are afraid of two things Leo. One being the unknown and the second being things beyond their control."
Leo: "But that isn't fair!"
Kai: "I agree Leo but that's how it is for most people, judging before talking."
Amelia: "Pay attention! The duel is about to start."
Akiza: "I'll be making the first move. I'll start by summoning Wall of Ivy in defense mode! With one card face down to end my turn." ATK 300/DEF 1200
Yusei: "Then to start my turn I'll be summoning Speed Warrior in attack mode!" ATK 900/ DEF 400
Yusei: "And on the turn Speed Warrior is summoned his attack points are doubled! Now Speed Warrior crush that Wall of Ivy!"
Akiza: "Be careful Yusei. When Wall of Ivy is destroyed it places an Ivy Token on your side of the field." ATK 0000/ DEF 0000
Yusei: [Judging from her last duel these things could be a problem.]
Akiza: "If that's all you've got it's my turn now. Since you destroyed my Wall of Ivy last round I can activate my Cursed Ivy to bring it back from the graveyard." ATK 300/ DEF 1200
Yusei: [She's trying to load my field with those tokens. Not only will I take 300 points of damage when they're destroyed and if my field fills up I won't be able to use my own monsters.]
Yusei: "Fine then I'll sacrifice my Speed Warrior to summon Turret Warrior in attack mode!"
ATK 1200/ DEF 2000
Yusei: "But that isn't the end of it because when Turret Warrior is summoned using a Warrior monster as the tribute he gains that monster's attack points!" ATK 2100/ DEF 2000
Yusei: "And I'll be using the added boost to destroy your Wall of Ivy once again!"
Akiza: "You must like plants as much as I do Yusei, because by destroying my Wall of Ivy and sending my trap to the graveyard you now get another two Ivy Tokens on your side of the field m."
ATK 0000/ DEF 0000
Akiza: "Is that all for your turn because if that's true then I'm disappointed in both of you."
Yusei: "Both?"
Akiza: "Your friend from earlier, you know Kai right? The person I'll be crushing in the next round after I defeat you. He tried saying that these marks weren't a curse and that the one place I call home is using me for my abilities. But I know the truth!"
Yusei: "If Kai said those things to you they aren't baseless that isn't the type of person he is. He's trying to help you Akiza! He doesn't want to watch you be controlled."
Akiza: "Sayer said you'd say that, so how do you know Kai so well? From what I've seen you two have barely spoken during the tournament yet you trust him this much."
Yusei: "That doesn't matter right now it's your move."
Akiza: "Fine then I'll play Seed of Deception! So I'll summon Dark Verger in attack mode!"
ATK 0000/ DEF 1000
Akiza: "But it's not sticking around for long since I'm sacrificing it to summon Rose Tentacles in attack mode!" ATK 2200/ DEF 1200
Akiza: "Most people like a rose because of its petals but I like roses because of their thorns! Now Rose Tentacles attack his Turret Warrior!"
Yusei: "Urrrrrgggggg!" 4000LP/3900LP
Announcer: "Even though he only took 100 points of damage it feels like a tornado was launched from the attack of Akiza's monster! And I have a feeling that The Black Rose isn't done yet."
Akiza: "The annoying announcer is right. Thanks to Rose Tentacles special ability you'll be taking be taking damage from all of those Ivy Tokens on your field!"
Yusei: "Well that's not good."
Akiza: "Now Rose Tentacles attack Yusei's tokens!"
Yusei: "Aaarrrrgggg!" 4000LP/1500LP
Akiza: "Now you have a small understanding of what it's like to be me Yusei. Not even your pal Kai can help you."
As she finished saying this she looked over towards Kai in the stands to gauge his reaction. As she locked eyes with him she was stunned, he wasn't flinching back, he wasn't angry for his friend being hurt, and most importantly he wasn't afraid. The only other person who treated her like a normal person and even after she'd hurt his friend he still didn't hate her?
Akiza: [Why isn't he afraid? I'm hurting his friend right in front of him and he still isn't afraid to look me in the eyes like a normal person!]
As she was thinking to herself she was broken from her thoughts when Kai gave her a casual wink from the stands.
Akiza: "W-What was that?!"
Yusei: "Ugh. Huh? What're you talking about? Never mind, Akiza let us help you. You don't need to distance yourself from others anymore. Even if it takes every card in my deck I'll show you and I'll start by placing Shield Warrior in defense mode with two cards face down to end my turn."

Yusei: "I think I'm starting to understand you Akiza you enjoy putting people through something similar to what you went through. You enjoy giving pain."
Akiza: "You're right. And after I'm through with you I'll show you your friend exactly how much pain I can dish out."
Kai: […..Wait a minute…..don't tell me that wink actually did something?!]
Author: "Sorry for the slightly late update work has been rough the last few days but the chapter she be easier for me to write from this point forward for a while. See y'all next time.
