Chapter 13: Chapter 13

Any gang or Yakuza who tried to get rid of him would find themselves completely destroyed instead.

Loan sharks, Gambling dens, money lending, protection fees, pornography. Kojo knew everything that happened in this town and a single month brought every criminal to their knees. The people were finally happy, and they could live their lives knowing that they didn't have to fear their children going out.

In fact, higher-ups in the military were informed Of his father's achievements and had recruited him as a soldier. But they made a deal where as long as they gave the town and its surroundings to him he would accept.

The government was uncertain but really wanted His father as one of their own, so they agreed on one condition, on paper the place would be owned and run by the government and government officials, but everyone would know that this town was under the protection of the western dragon.

" And after 15 years things have been very peaceful, that is...no never-mind my words. So do you have a better picture of who you're father was?" Granny Chio said, in a grandmotherly tone. It was soft and calm. Ekko wondered if that's what having a grandmother felt like.

"I see so that's how it is, thank you granny Chio for answering my questions." After Ekko had greeted and met all the locals Granny Chio had invited him up to her house for tea. Not wanting to be rude he accepted and before he knew it the conversation swerved to his father.

Granny Chio looked like she wanted to say something but hesitated. However after a few seconds of contemplating she said with a sad look." Ekko, I know it doesn't mean much coming from a stranger like me, but I promise you your father wasn't a bad person, I don't know why he left you in a different country or why he couldn't take care of you, but I know this, he was a good and honest man, he wasn't the type of person who would abandon their child for no reason."

Ekko looked at granny Chio before sighing." If you're worried about me being angry with him or resentful towards him, you have no reason to worry. I forgave him a long time ago, plus what is the point of hating the Deceased it isn't going to bring them back. I just hope he's resting well now."

"Granny Chio's face lit up with a smile" You are just as kind and forgiving as your father and even more handsome, tell me are there any Japanese girls you fancy if not I have a friend...."Ekko smiled wearily at granny trying to play matchmaker for him.

After 30 more minutes of chatting Ekko decided it was time to go home. It was already dark out and he wanted to start cooking dinner soon.

" Thank you for having me today Granny chio, ill make sure I'll come to your store whenever I need to buy my Groceries."

" Your welcome anytime, and if you're struggling to find a good girl to settle with my friends—"

" Okay got to go bye, granny Chio." Ekko interrupted Her words and dashed away as quickly as he could." Haha, he's just like his father, always getting embarrassed when the mention of love is involved."

But soon her happy smile turned into a frown. Ever since Ekkos's father's disappearance and his unfortunate death one month ago, certain people who remembered the West dragon's rampage 15 years ago are still cautious about taking over but a few newer and bolder gangsters have already started doing Business.

With the rise of technology and police, gang activity has definitely lessened over the decade, but that doesn't mean it has disappeared completely.

Granny Chio went inside her house after closing up and went to her room. She grabbed a jade box around 30 cm long and 20 wide. This was the last thing Ekkos's father had given her, he had said that if he were to ever disappear that's his son would be the next protector.

Granny Chio didn't know what was in the box but apparently, he said it was a key to something. What that key led to she didn't know and wasn't going to ask her savior/son either.

" I will give this to him the next time I see him. I hope you are right about this Kojo." Granny Chio placed the box on her dresser and went to bed.

Meanwhile, Ekko was walking back home up the hill. He had a good time chatting with Granny Chio and getting to know more about his father.

It would seem that he and I weren't so different.

'Huh,' But as Ekko was walking up the hill he noticed a beer can on the floor. He found it odd as he knew Japan liked to keep its forests and streets clean. He picked up the can and noticed a lipstick mark on the side of the can.

'Did a drunk girl accidentally stumble into the woods?' He was surprised that the system dude react and give him another task like helping the drunk girl in the woods.

Ekko then noticed another can of beer not even 20 meters away. He walked ahead and picked up the can. But another 30 meters away there was another can of beer." What the hell." Ekko walked to his home while picking up cans of beers on his way, it was like an Easter egg hunt but instead of Chocolate eggs, it was beer cans.

It was only when he was around 200 meters away from his home did he smell a familiar scent of Roses and peaches." Don't tell me."

Ekko made his way to the front door and as expected...it was Rangiku, slumbering on the ground without a care in the world. She had a can of beer in one hand and a sake bottle in the other.

" What is with this girl and alchool? What should I do...well there's no system mission plus it's her fault she's outside in the cold in the first place."

Ekko nodded, agreeing with his own thought process, and was going to walk around her body, but ultimately paused. He had just noticed that she had no shoes on and her feet were bleeding.

Sighing Ekko had no choice but to bring her back in. He Picked her up in a princess hold and teleported her drinks to his inventory. Ekko walked to the door and was about to open the gates but froze when he saw the gates were open, if only by a little bit.

Of course, Ekko didn't know exactly how much these doors weigh but he knew they weren't light in the slightest so who could have...

That's when he noticed Rangiku's bloody footsteps right in front of the door.' Your kidding, she opened the door, she couldn't even make it budge this morning." He wondered how she did it.

Ekko entered his house and took off his shoes while also teleporting all his Groceries to the kitchen. Ekko suddenly got de javu and remembered this is exactly what happened yesterday.

A new scenario is in progress, New choices have been generated, Choices...
