Chapter 3: Golden eyes

The preparation for the event had already began leaving me a bit stunned, the maidens had already started decorating the hallway and things were being moved from one place to the other, I shook my head with a sigh.

This is definitely going to be some heck of an event.

Jina had been the one monitoring the maids to make sure everything looks perfect, she was actually dressed up like she said she would.

Her long red hair tied In a ponytail as it swayed with the cool breeze, now that I think about it, where did the breeze actually come from?.

She was dressed in an off shoulder gown exposing her exquisite shoulder and beautiful collarbone, with an emerald necklace around her neck.

The gown hugged her figure showing off her curvy shape which I envied, she looked damn gorgeous and I doubt any man could resist that, she finally noticed my prescence and hurried towards me.

"Well, what do you think?" she twirled showing off her gown and I smiled.

"Be ready to choose cause after seeing this, I'm sure tons of princes will be on the line to get married to you."

She chuckled lightly at my words. "I'm beautiful and sexy after all, but I don't wish to get married at the moment, I enjoy flirting a lot more."

True!, Jina has always been the flirty type but I noticed her gaze still lingered on me like she was studying me.

"The guests will be here soon and you still look like this?!" she gestured at my clothing and I took a look at it, well that was offensive, what's wrong with this?

"But I'm fine, it's not even the Event yet so I'll keep my makeover till then."

"Well, your loss not mine."

Evening shadows sank in quite fast as the sky turned darker, I was reading a novel in my room when Jina suddenly burst in with a look of excitement.

"Keeley, the guests have arrived."

I sighed inwardly, time to go say hello, I closed my book and got to my feet, my father would be angry if I show up late to welcome the guests and as always I needed to be in my best behavior and look presentable, the stress of being a princess.

I arranged my disheveled hair in the mirror and adjusted my simple blue gown, Jina always told me any dress looked good on me due to my hourglass figure but I still needed confirmation to please my father and no one else.

"Too simple for a princess but you look good on anything you put on." the look in her emerald eyes told me she was genuine about it and I decided to go with it.

We stepped out of my room and the maidens wouldn't stop greeting as we walked by, to be honest I'm actually tired of it but Jina seems to enjoy it, we're so opposite in everything and it's surprising how easily we still got along.

We headed down the stairs and I saw my father welcoming the guest and ushering them in.

Jina grinned and hurried over to her father's side, I stood beside my father keeping my gaze low as my father spoke to the guest.

"How was the journey to syvilnia?" my father asked in his jovial tone and I couldn't look up to see who he was talking to.

"It was wonderful your highness, my father the king has been sick so he couldn't make it, he sends his apologies and he wouldn't want none of his family to be absent on such a good occasion which is why we're here."

The deep but attractive voice said politely to my father, oh, that must be the prince then.

"You're welcome." King Steph said and Jina silently snuck away from her father and nudged my elbow.

"Keeley, you need to see this, the princes are top notch." she whispered sounding surprised herself, I got curious to look up and my eyes landed on the prince who spoke to my father.

My eyes widened in reverence as I blinked at him, I was actually expecting the princes to look handsome no doubt, but not this handsome, especially the one talking to my father.

Never in my life have I seen someone look so handsome, devilishly handsome rather, with long brows, the dark gaze under those long beautiful lashes, he had dark hair and a few strand fell at his face making him look bewitching, he was surprisingly young looking too, couldn't be more than twenty one or highest twenty two to me, how can someone this good looking be allowed to live on earth?, He didn't look like the actual prince cause just like me he was dressed in a simple outfit, a trouser and a shirt leaving a few buttons undone which revealed a tantalizing glimpse that is just enough to leave you wanting more, I lowered my gaze again before I end up looking like Jina.

Jina kept her infactuated gaze on him. "He looks delicious." she whispered and for the first time, I agreed to her words, even the rest of his brothers or relatives were good looking as well.

"I'd like you to meet my youngest daughter, Jina." King Steph said while Jina shyly lowered her head and curtsyed.

"Greetings."

"Lovely meeting you princess jina, I'm Rin." he said and a soft shade of pink crossed her cheeks.

The rest of the family also paid their greetings and Alexis was also introduced to the handsome Rin.

"Greetings, it's an honor to finally come across a handsome prince." she said but he doesn't seem interested in any of the conversation.

"It's a pleasure."

I greeted the other guests with a smile and they all seemed nice, but I froze at my spot when he stood before me and I looked up to meet his gaze, the smile on my lips faded and I gasped at the sight of his eyes, those eyes?! I took a step back almost tripping but he caught me in his arms to stop me from falling, we remained in the same posture, me in his arms and my arms wrapped around his neck to support myself.

My eyes widened in disbelief as I gazed directly into his golden eyes, those eyes, why did they look so familiar?, they looked exactly like the ones in my dreams making my heart go rampant once again, but what I saw was a wolf, not a human being.

I pulled myself away from him like I was doused with cold water, the smirk on his face and the look in those eyes meant two different things, I glanced around to make sure no one spotted us in that state.

"Greetings princess." he bowed and It felt like my lips had been sealed rendering me speechless, I couldn't help but gaze into those golden eyes that reminded me of a harsh scorching sun, just staring into them already made me feel burned!

He snapped his fingers at my face to gain my attention.

"What is the problem?" he asked, I didn't know why but something deep inside of me told me he was bad news, thanks to Jina some of her doubtful nature has rubbed off on me.

"Nothing's wrong, I'm fine." I sounded way too formal and there wasn't any hint of smile on my face.

"You must be Keeley." he went further to say but I wasn't comfortable with his eyes even with the fact they were irresistibly beautiful, They matched with the one's in my dreams and I didn't want to think much of it.

"If you'll excuse me." I walked out on him which of course left him a bit stunned, his gaze followed me as I hid away wanting to calm my already racing heart, stop getting yourself worked up Keeley, there's noway a prince could be a wolf, Jina is the cause of it all, she's the one who put those words in my head and now I'm having trouble forgetting it. I nearly jumped out of my skin when i heard the howling of wolves, I gazed out at the open window but the howling stopped or maybe I just thought it did.

It was getting dark again and the moon looked full and surprisingly big, I gulped hard, Why does the night always seem to close in on us??
