Chapter 2: CHAPTER 2

No, no, no! How could I lose my necklace? The most precious item I had was lost. I wasn't feeling well but I had to go to school anyways so I gave up searching and got ready to go.

Unlike me, Kevin was in a good mood but in a really strange way. It was like he was planning something but learning about it wasn't my priority. First I had to find my necklace and then find out what he was planning. I'm nosy after all.

"Morning Kevin!" I said waving at him.

"Morning, how are you?"

"Fine. I wanted to ask you if you have seen my necklace. It has a small blue heart on it."

He thought for a while before answering:

"No, but you can come to my place to search for it."

"Will Ryan be there?"

"Probably not."

"Ok then, I'll come. So are you planning something?"

"What? No!"

"Come on! You know that's not what I want to hear."

"Can't something stay hidden from you?"

"No, I'll find out one way or another." I said proudly.

"I guess I can't escape from you. Do you know who is Samantha?"

"The girl with big brown eyes and long black hair..."

"That's right! I will ask her on a date."

"That's great, but are you sure she doesn't have a boyfriend or something?"

"Come on, think positively Sara!"

"I still think it's better to find out before you ask her out."

"Ok, but how?"

"We will go and talk to her."

"And what are we gonna say? 'Hey Samantha! Do you have a boyfriend?' Congrats little genius."

"Come on! You were the one who said to think positively so stop being a pessimist. I'll think of something. The only thing you'll have to do is watch. It's not that difficult."

"I give up. Let's do this!"

We walked towards her trying to approach her. Our plan was simple. Kevin would start the conversation and then it would be my turn.

"Hi Samantha!"

"Hey guys!"

"You don't need me to introduce you to each other." Kevin said evily.

"Yeah, don't bother! I'm Sara, nice to meet you!"

"Nice to meet you too. Are you new here? I saw you for the first time yesterday."

"Yes, I moved here recently. I heard that Portland has hot guys. That's what motivated me." I said pretending to be laughing.

"Not every guy here is smoking hot but you're not wrong."

"Hey babe!" a blonde boy with small eyes said looking at Samantha.

"Luke! What are you doing here?" Samantha said surprised but obviously happy.

"Can't I come to see my girlfriend?"

"Of course you can!"

They kissed and I immediately looked at Kevin. I could see the jealousy and disappointment drawn on his face.

"I have some really important staff to do so I gotta go." Kevin mumbled and almost run away.

"Ummm....ice to meet you guys but I think it's better to leave you alone." I said with a fake smile on my face and followed Kevin.

"Are you ok?"

"Sara please leave me alone and I think it's better not to come to search for your necklace today. I promise though that we will search for it tomorrow."

I hesitantly agreed and left. I didn't see him at all for the rest of the day and I couldn't help but being worried. When I was about to leave from school I saw a guy waiting outside. I wasn't happy at all when I realized it was Ryan. I didn't greet him hoping that he'll let me just pass by him.

"It's rude not to greet a person you know." he said waiting for a reply.

"Hi and bye!" I answered making an effort to leave.

"Wait a minute!"

"What do you want?"

"I just thought that you might be looking for this." he said showing me my necklace.

"My necklace! Can you give it back to me?"

"Under one condition."

"What condition?"

"A date with me."

"You ask me to go on a date with you, right?"

"Yes and then you get your necklace back ."

"No."

"No?"

"No."

"If you are not Kevin's girlfriend then what's the problem?"

"You are the problem!"

"But every girl would like to go one a date with me."

"Just because a few slutty girls have had sex with you doesn't mean that the whole female population is dying to be with you!"

While he was still in shock because someone had rejected him I grabbed my necklace from his hand and went away.

After I took a refreshing shower and got dressed I heard the doorbell. I opened and in front of me was standing the handsome guy with the awful personality, Ryan.

"How did you find were I live?"

"It's a secret."

"I asked you something and I want an answer!"

"I followed you."

"That's really creepy Ryan! You better stop!"

"Ok I'll stop. But what is so wrong with me?"

"Your attitude of course. Look, I'll tell you something and whether you like it or not it's true. Both the outside and inside of a person are important but remember that the inside is what counts the most. Take it as a friendly advice."

"But I don't want to be friends with you. I want us to be something more than that."

"You want us to be best friends? That's so nice of you!"

"But, you don't understand.."

"No, I'm the one who understands and you the one who doesn't. You are really handsome but your attitude is unbearable!"

"What my attitude should be like?"

"I'm not the person to answer that question. You should find out yourself. Otherwise you'll just pretend to be what I want to see."

"Ok, but.."

"Now please leave." I cut him off.

"But..."

"Leave.. NOW! You shouldn't have come anyways!"

"Ok, I'm leaving. Bye."

I didn't answer. The only thought I had in my head was that he shouldn't have come. No one should even think of coming to my house and most importantly, which I had forgotten, it was me who shouldn't go to other people's houses. Yet no one listens to their own advice and that's why almost every time something goes wrong.
