Chapter 1: Act I Part 1

Sometimes, life throws weird choices at you. Some easy, some hard. And no matter what, you have to choose among what has been given to you.

"Rin-san, hurry up! We are going to be late for the sale at this rate!"

The sound of high school students laughing and calling each other.

"Oh yeah. A new shop has opened not far from my home. Should we go and check it out?"

The sound of cars passing by.

"Come! Today is my cafe's anniversary and you can get anything with up to 50 percent discount!"

With the sound of vendors, the people passing by—the sound of the clock ringing, a question arose to my mind, where in the fuck was I?

I was going home after getting some energy drinks from the supermarket. Since it was the rainy season, I had brought an umbrella with me but when I came out of the supermarket, I couldn't find my umbrella anywhere.

I had thought that someone might have stolen it, and my guess was not far from the truth, as I stared at the black-haired man standing on the other side of the road with my umbrella in his hands.

It was raining, not too fast, just a mild drizzling, so I could clearly see the man.

His hair was long, reaching just above his hip. He wore a cotton half-sleeve shirt, quite oversized, and long pants with a pair of joggers below.

He raised the umbrella, our eyes meeting briefly.

My eyes widened as I stared at the impeccable beautiful gaze of the man. I was not gay, but it didn't stop me from appreciating how beautiful his eyes were.

I couldn't quite discern the pattern—it was fairly abstract to make out anything—but I knew that they were not natural. Maybe some cosmetic lenses? I had heard that many people use them these days.

'Leaving that aside, why would he steal my umbrella and then stand at the other side of the road with it? Is he trying to act cool or what? I guess he does look cool but dude seriously…'

I barely stopped my urge to sigh. Seriously, these Otakus are getting out of hand these days.

"Oi! Can you give it back? It is kinda raining so yeah. I don't want to go back soaked." Though it was only drizzling, by the time I reached my home, I would still be wet all over.

I don't want that. I just took a shower not long ago, it would be annoying to take another one.

'Is he… smiling?'

I couldn't see much of his expression. He was quite far away and it was night—while the light above his head wasn't helping much but the opposite.

But even from such low visibility to his face, I could clearly spot a smirk on his face.

His lips moved. It shouldn't have been possible, the distance between me and him. His voice shouldn't have reached me if he spoke softly. Yet, it felt like he was speaking right beside my ear.

Despite not hearing anything, I could hear what he was saying.

Yeah, I know, this was pure bullshit. I had no fucking idea what was going on.

[Want to transmigrate?]

It was absurd! This person, this man, was far too into his play as some mysterious deity! Want to transmigrate? What kind of idiotic question was that?

"Of course I do!" I shouted, seemingly playing with his game. "Though I would love to play this… little mysterious deity play, I got some stuff to prepare for my presentation tomorrow, so, like, can you give that back?"

He blinked with slight confusion before the smirk from before resurfaced on his face. He raised his hand and waved.

[Good Luck]

And by the time I realized what he meant, I was here, standing in this crowded place that looked like the central plaza or market, maybe even town square or something.

People walked past me as if nothing was wrong, but how could that be possible?

All I did was blink and the next moment I found myself standing here. It was even day now all of sudden!

Some people, most likely students, stopped and gave me weird looks before ignoring me. Well, not like I could blame them. Leaving the suddenness of this weirdly obvious supernatural event, I was wearing my sleeping trousers and shirt.

Even I would be weirded out finding a person wearing his sleeping clothes in the middle of the day in the middle of the town square-like place.

"I need some cigarettes…"

Taking a step back, I sat down on a pedestrian. Taking a Red Bull out of the bag I was holding, I opened it and started to drink it.

This… I am really transmigrated, aren't I?

I could feel my heartbeat getting faster and faster with each second, making me want to shout to calm down my raging emotions.

'Holy Nectar! That dude wasn't playing some mysterious deity! He WAS the mysterious deity! Shit! Thankfully I didn't bad mouth him; instead of transmigration, I might end up meeting him after getting murdered by him.'

I blinked dumbfoundedly. Staring at sentence after sentence, I didn't know what to feel—Happy? Excited?

Of course I was feeling all of it right now!

'Alright. For starters, let's calm down first.' I needed to calm down to carefully analyze my position and what the system was saying before doing anything. I didn't want to die on my first day after all.
