Chapter 35: Yamori "Jason"
The car zoomed down the road.
Lin Yi was heading towards an empty and unfinished building site behind the busy street. The construction there had been delayed for certain reasons, so it remained incomplete.
The notable thing about this place was that the Hinami Fueguchi family lived there.
Although it was called a house, it looked more like a rundown train carriage. They had made some changes to make it somewhat livable.
The Fueguchi family led a simple life, and living there helped them save on rent.
Even though they were ghouls, they rarely killed and relied on the Anteiku shop for assistance to survive.
Lin Yi didn't actively help such ghouls, but he chose to ignore their actions.
However, today there were unexpected visitors to this place.
"Bang!"
Suddenly, one side of the carriage was forcefully blasted open, creating a hole in the metal.
Asaki Fueguchi, Hinami's father, was thrown out and rolled on the ground, spitting out blood.
A wild-looking figure emerged from the carriage.
He wore a white suit, a dark red shirt, a green waistcoat, and a flashy purple and red patterned tie. He even had green shoes.
His face was fierce, with a yellow crew cut and a prominent nose bridge, resembling Jason from Friday the 13th.
This was Yakumo Oomori, also known as Yamori, a wanted ghoul fleeing from the CCG!
He was considered an S-class ghoul.
But Lin Yi believed Yamori's strength was close to SS-class. He had three Kagune, which showed immense power and the ability to easily defeat ordinary investigators. Yamori's multiple instances of cannibalism allowed him to unleash his half-Kakuja form. He was a true monster.
Because of Lin Yi's influence, the story changed. Yamori didn't lose his massive crafted wrench, which appeared without warning.
"Dad!" "Husband!"
Hinami and Ryouko rushed to help their injured father/husband, Asaki Fueguchi, to his feet.
"Ryouko, run. Take Hinami and get away quickly."
Asaki, while speaking, spat out more blood. But he tried his best to support his body, entrusting them with urgency.
"No, Dad, I won't leave!"
Hinami cried with tears streaming down her face. Ryouko clenched her teeth and forced herself to stand up. She grabbed the reluctant Hinami, and they ran away desperately.
"Ah, such a heartwarming family."
Yamori didn't chase after them. He waved the massive wrench in his hand, leisurely observing Asaki.
"We used to be close. Why did you betray the organization and help humans?" Yamori asked coldly.
Asaki used to be a member of the Aogiri Tree, but he served by crafting weapons, not as a combatant.
The wrench in Yamori's hand was one of Asaki's creations.
Later, Asaki realized that staying in the organization would put his family in danger. So he found an opportunity and escaped to the 20th ward, disguised as a doctor.
He earned a living by going out for medical consultations and charging a small fee.
But Asaki never expected Yamori to come to the 20th ward, searching for Rize Kamishiro's whereabouts. Instead, he found Asaki.
Yamori's arrival spelled disaster for the Fueguchi family.
"Well, since you've chosen to betray the organization..." Yamori grinned and walked up to Asaki, kicking him again. Asaki was sent flying several meters away, crashing into an electric pole before finally stopping.
"So even if I kill you, no one should blame me, right? Hahaha!"
Yamori's laughter grew wilder.
"Hey, hey, hey, that annoying laughter has ruined my good mood. But we're lucky, Amon," a cold voice interrupted Yamori's laughter.
Yamori turned his head and saw two men dressed as investigators, carrying a white suitcase. They appeared out of nowhere and stared at him.
Especially the elderly man in white, hunchbacked and with a morbid appearance, he was as intimidating as Yamori.
Amon didn't dare to be careless. He recognized the man in front of him and was fully prepared.
"Why are investigators here? Well, it's good to have a little game with you. Just don't let me defeat you too easily. Hahaha!"
Yamori showed no concern.
"It's really an annoying voice." Mado wasn't a fan of unnecessary talk. He pressed the white suitcase, and a blue-green circular Quinque sword appeared in his hand.
Amon also took out his Quinque, a rare armor-class Quinque resembling a black and red circular giant hammer that required both hands.
"Let's go!"
Mado spoke and rushed forward, attacking swiftly and relentlessly.
Amon seized every opportunity to strike, delivering powerful blows that left dents in the ground.
But their attacks seemed like child's play to Yamori. His tall and robust body moved with incredible agility, effortlessly dodging and evading, showing no sense of urgency.
In the opening created by Mado's attack, Yamori seized the opportunity and closed in.
"Too naive!"
"The one who's too naive is you!" Mado's eyes brightened. His single Quinque suddenly divided into three, surrounding Yamori from behind and forming a cage. Then, with a sudden convergence, he aimed to trap Yamori!
"Boom!"
But in the next moment, Mado stood still.
His move had always been foolproof. Whenever he ambushed a formidable opponent, his surprise attack succeeded. But this time was different.
Yamori forcefully blocked Mado's Quinque with his purple-red Kagune, exerting increasing force until, with a loud bang, Mado's Quinque was destroyed.
Yamori regained control and revealed the full extent of his Kagune.
His Kagune extended from his back, enormous in size, resembling two purple-red wings. However, they were positioned lower, more like scales than feathers.
This appearance was a result of Yamori's frequent cannibalism.
His Kagune had undergone a transformation.
