Chapter 33: Gu Xin Ye was Acting Strangely Again

Qin Zhan was in the middle of checking the broth when the phone in his pocket vibrated. He threw some herbs into the broth before taking out the phone and read the message loudly. "Lin Lin said she's coming to the noodle stall."

The moment Li Jun Xuan heard Qin Zhan's words, his body stiffened. He quickly retracted his gaze away from Gu Xin Ye and coughed. "Then, I should go back and help my mom to look after the B&B."

His brow rose. "You're not staying and waiting for Lin Lin? She should be heading back to the city after eating some noodles."

Li Jun Xuan hesitated. "No. I'll go. If Lin Lin sees me again, she might continue to nag me."

Qin Zhan chuckled at his answer. It was not a secret that Li Jun Xuan, the brave detective was afraid of their friend, Qian Lin.

"Even after she got married, that girl like to worry a lot," Qin Zhan said. "But Lin Lin is right. Jun Xuan, you should make up your mind soon."

"I know." There was a complicated look in his eyes as he pondered over his friend's words. Li Jun Xuan rubbed the tip of his nose. "I'll go back before you start to nag me too."

This time, Qin Zhan did not say anything. He watched as his friend left before continuing to work on his beef soup.

Without looking up, Qin Zhan started to give his instruction to the siblings.

Luo Qi walked over to his side and started to chop some cilantro while Luo Jun continued to wipe the bowl and cutleries with Gu Xin Ye.

Soon a vehicle parked nearby the noodle stall.

When Gu Xin Ye saw this vehicle, the corner of her lips began to twitch. She had already expected what was about to happen.

The moment one vehicle parked nearby the noodle stall, another would arrive and soon, the small stall would be overcrowded with people. Just the thought of running around to clean up the table and washing the bowls would give her a headache.

GDB company was mostly involved in the F&B industry. As someone from the higher-up, Gu Xin Ye always thought that the most important thing was the taste of the food they served.

Now that she had worked for Qin Zhan's noodle stall during the weekend, Gu Xin Ye realized that the service was equally important.

The door was open and Qin Zhan's friend, Qian Lin, and her husband, Mo Cheng Feng alighted from the car with their children.

The couple took a seat and Qin Zhan began to serve them the beef noodles.

As he put down the bowl on the table, Qin Zhan could not help but raised his brow upon seeing that Gu Xin Ye was acting strangely again. However, with Qian Lin and her husband's presence, he did not have time to figure out what was going on with his new employee.

Gu Xin Ye continued to wipe the cutleries with her back facing Qin Zhan. Once in a while, she would look up and peek at the table to check what they were up to. But she was a coward and did not dare to look for too long.

Her ears perked up as she tried to eavesdrop on their conversation. However, she was too far from the table to hear anything.

A deep crease appeared between her brows. Gu Xin Ye was still wondering about Qin Zhan's relationship with Mo Cheng Feng's wife. Although she had a few suspicions, Gu Xin Ye had to wait for Shen Yi Nian to report her investigation.

Gu Xin Ye continued to immerse in her thought while wiping the cutleries. Her mind was somewhere else and she was completely unaware of the incoming danger.

"Miss Gu."

The man's breath touched her ear. Gu Xin Ye was not expecting that there would be someone standing behind her.

Gu Xin Ye let out a scream and turned around instinctively. She was holding a pair of chopsticks to Qin Zhan's chest with her eyes widened.

Her eyes flickered when she finally recognized the man. Gu Xin Ye lowered her guard and sighed. "It's you." Her brow frowned in anger when she recalled how Qin Zhan had scared her a few seconds ago. "Don't suddenly appear behind me. You frightened me."

"I called your name a few times but you did not seem to hear me."

Gu Xin Ye shifted her eyes away, knowing that she was at fault for not paying attention to her surroundings. "Sorry. I was too focused on my task." Her heart skipped a beat upon realizing that Qin Zhan was standing too close to her.

"Oh..."

Before she could take a step back to create a safe distance between them, Qin Zhan had spoken again.

"Miss Gu."

"Ah?"

"Were you planning to stab me with a pair of chopsticks?"

Gu Xin Ye looked at the man before her in puzzlement. She followed his gaze and finally realized that she has been pointing the chopstick at Qin Zhan's chest.

Her face turned red. She quickly move the chopstick away and did not dare to raise her head to look at Qin Zhan again.
