Chapter 43: Extra 3_New Year Special

AUTHOR'S NOTE:

Hey dear readers! I didn't have time to write for a whole week! I'm surprised at how busy I am, normally I just stay home till the holidays are over, so I was shocked at how much I went outside this week.

As you all can see this is a New Year Special. In this chapter you will find three chapters. Each chapter represents one of my novels. The first will be TTMO, the second will be My Soul Mark and the last one will be I'll Change. You can choose to read them all or just skip the ones you don't want to read and read only the ones you want.

But I do hope you will read everything.

The reasons why I published it as one chapter is to promote all my works. I think they all deserve love and attention, and I do hope you will like all my stories.

As I told you, I still hadn't time to write this week, but I promise I'll upload 2 chapters of My Soul Mark and 1 of I'll Change. I'll try to publish it before the tenth of January. I still don't know how I'll upload after, but if I have an idea I'll tell you.

Before ending this note I want to wish everyone a Happy New Year and the best wishes for the year that will be coming. Love you guys!

TRYING TO TAKE MY MASK OFF

In the quiet house, the phone in the living suddenly began to ring.

*RING* *RING*

The man went who was resting beside the phone, accepted the call without any hesitation.

"Hello?"

"Hello, Lucius!"

On the other side of the phone was an exited voice.

"Something wrong?", Lucius asked.

"No, there's nothing wrong! I just wanted to once again apologize about the concert.", the person spoke with a sad tone, but the excitement couldn't be hidden.

"It's not your fault.", he answered gently.

"But…", before the man on the phone could continue, he was stopped by Lucius.

"No buts, it's not your fault.", his calm voice was clearly heard over the phone.

"I need to thank you for everything you did for me this year. Thank you so much, I really appreciate it.", Lucius's voice sounded genuine thankful, but who knows if he really meant it.

"You don't need to thank me!", the man answered hurried.

"I'm happy to be able to help you!"

"Thank you.", Lucius replied quietly.

"You really don't need to thank me!"

Lucius didn't reply after, he only waited till the noise on the other side decreased.

"I'm sorry, I need to hang up.", the man said.

"It's okay."

"I wish you a happy New Year!"

"Me too.", Lucius said and hanged up.

The one who called was the person responsible for the concert he held each year on the first of January, but this time for reasons it couldn't be held. So, instead of practicing for the concert that would be originally be held in two hours, he was sitting on his coach in his house.

Lonely

That is what he looked like right now, but who knows if he felt like this in reality or not. The thing that is true is that he is currently alone in his huge mansion. His home looked cold, a place where no one would ever live in.

Time passed by and the end of this year was approaching.

*TIK* *TOK* *TIK* *TOK*

The clock was ticking.

*RIK* *TOK* *TIK* *TOK*

The only sound heard was the ticking of the clock and the breath of a human. Th said human was sitting dazed on the coach. The man sat on the same spot almost two whole hours. He didn't play on his phone, didn't listen to music, didn't watch a film on tv. He didn't do anything expect the thing that is important to humans, breathing.

Loud noises came from outside.

"We need to find a good place!"

"Here!"

"…"

Everyone seemed to be ready to enter the next year. They didn't dwell on the past and walked to the future carefree and without worries.

Lucius walked slowly to the window. He opened it and looked at the busy streets.

*WOOSH*

The wind came in and blew the hair strands out off his face.

"Mom! Dad!", someone cried.

The man looked at the family of three. They looked happy and full of warmth.

[How are my family doing?]

[Are they together right now too?]

Thoughts of his family came inside his mind. Flashbacks of his youth came, and a feeling of loneliness came over him.

[I don't deserve to know.]

He erased all thoughts of his family and looked at the sky that is now black.

"Three!"

"Two!"

"One!"

People began to count the seconds down.

"HAPPY NEW YEAR!", everyone shouted with a big smile on their faces.

They gave their families, friends, lovers and even people they didn't know a hug and their best wishes.

"Happy new year.", Lucius mumbled under his breath.

A year once again passes, and this year too he was alone.

*ZZZZzzz*

A message came in.

He looked one more time to the peaceful atmosphere outside and turned around to where his phone was. He opened his phone and he received countless messages of his fans, of his 'friends', and so on.

But above all the other messages one stood out of the rest. It was a phone number he hadn't seen in a while.

It wasn't a text, but a voice message.

With trembling fingers, he clicked on the message.

"…"

At first you couldn't hear anything, but suddenly it became noisy.

"Why are you guys quiet!", someone shouted.

"Oh, shut up, weren't you quiet too.", someone else shouted back.

"Quiet!", someone with a lower voice said.

"Don't be noisy Say what you want to say.", a gentle voice said.

"Ah! That's right!", the first voice said.

"Happy New Year!", the four said one by one.

The four talked trough each other, some talked more quietly, while some almost yelled. It was an extremely chaos like voice message, but you could feel their love for each other.

"We love you, Lucius!"

It ended after this sentence. The voice message length was five minutes, but it felt so much shorter to him.

He replayed it once, twice, trice, …

*DRIP* *DROP*

The tears fell off the mans face. One tear fell, two tears fell.

"I miss you so much…"

A new year began, but not everybody was happy, not everybody looked forward to it because he knew that he won't change even if hundred of years would pass by.

"I'm sorry…", Lucius said so quiet that even he couldn't hear his own voice.

"I'm so sorry…"

AUTHOR'S NOTE:

Hey readers! How did you like it? I'm not sure if I can upload another chapter, I'll try but no promise.

My Soul Mark

In a warmly decorated home sat a family of five around the table. They talked about random things, but they all looked extremely happy. Everyone had a smile on their face some brighter than the other.

The one with the brightest smile was the oldest looking boy. He smiled brightly and laughed a lot. It seemed that he had a lot of fun with his family.

*RING* *RING*

The harmonious atmosphere was ruined by the alarm that came of someone's phone.

"I need to go.", someone looked at the time and stood up.

"Look at the time.", someone else said.

They all stood up and were ready to go outside. They said their goodbyes and went their own way. Every one of them had a meeting with their own friends.

New Year was approaching, and they all decided to spend this day together with their friends.

"Xavier!"

The boy who looked at the sky dazed, turned his face to were he heard his name called.

"I thought you wouldn't be coming anymore!"

"Of course, I would come.", Xavier answered with a right smile.

He was surrounded by his friends. They talked, laughed, joked, and so much more. They were happy and free like nobody will be able to stop their carefree nature.

"Ugh…"

"Everything okay, Xavier?"

Hearing Xavier groan, they wondered that he maybe didn't feel well.

"My stomach hurts.", he said weakly.

"What are you going to do?", a friend asked worried.

"Yeah, are you going home, or do we need to call the hospital?", someone else asked.

"Yes, you shouldn't be outside. What if it gets worse.", someone added.

Xavier got bombarded with his friends concerns and couldn't help but smile.

"Why are you smiling? Do you find this funny?", someone said a bit angry.

"That's not it.", he replied.

"I'll just go home. I'll be fine after sleeping.", Xavier added.

"Do we need to walk you home?", they asked.

"No need. I can go there by myself."

After pursuing them to stay, he went slowly back home. When he arrived, he walked upstairs to his bedroom and lied on his bed.

In reality his stomach didn't hurt that much. He could stay if he wanted but decided otherwise. He didn't want to be outside right now. It's not that he hated his friends, but he just wanted to be alone at this moment.

He wanted to let go of his worries and just relax, but with his friends or families it isn't always easy to let his guard down. Xavier trusted them, but at the same time he was scared of them. The reason is because he was different.

Xavier was different and he felt insecure about being different. He felt like he couldn't fit in with society. The time he spent with time is enjoyable, but he knew that they couldn't speak about everything they wanted just like him. There is existed a wall between him and the rest. He was used to it, but it didn't mean he liked it.

Xavier stood up and went to his window. He burned the candle and looked outside.

"When will I meet my soulmate?", he asked quietly to no one special.

*POEF* *POEF*

Outside fireworks were burning. There were different colors to red to purple.

"HAPPY NEW YEAR!", everyone cried out.

"Maybe I'll meet my soulmate this year.", Xavier whispered.

"That's right, I'll meet my special someone this year."

He sounded full of confidence, but at the same time he wasn't. He who lived his whole life without someone special was always hoping for a miracle to appear.

"I'll definitely will meet the one for me this year. I can feel it."

"Just stay strong.", he said trying to make him feel better.

"I have someone special; I know I have!"

He looked fired up and watched the candle burn.

"That's right! I have a special someone! I just need to find them!"

He lay on his bed ready to find the one for him this year.

"I'll find them.", he said this time more quieter.

"It won't be the same as this year or the year before or the year before that year. Definitely not, definitively not…"

The more he tried to fire him up, the more lost he felt. He always said the dame each year, and he still hasn't found the one made for him.

"Everything will be alright."

AUTHOR' NOTE:

Hey readers! I know it's not long, but I really didn't know what to write! But I do hope you liked it!

I'll Change

On a busy street a young boy walked alone. He walked without any clear goal.

"Look out!"

The boy didn't watch where he was walking and collided with a group of drunken boys.

"Watch were you going, boy!", they said trying to intimidate him.

The boy looked at them and sneered.

"What are you looking, ugly.", he said with a smirk gracing his face.

"You!"

The one who he called ugly went mad while the others laughed.

"He called you ugly! Haha!"

But before they could tease their friend, he interrupted them.

"You're not so much better. No wonder you all are friends.", the boy said without showing any emotions.

The group of drunken man grabbed the boy and pushed him in a dark alley.

"If you don't apologize to us, you'll regret it.", they said with a threatening voice.

The boy who was threatened didn't take it seriously. He only looked at them with a mocking smile.

"Are you going to beat me up. I hope you don't slap me like a b*tch."

Hearing his voice, they all began to beat the youth. He couldn't defend himself because there were too many people who were trying to beat him up. He didn't fight back, but just smiled like he did before.

The smile made the drunken boys angrier, and they didn't hold back at all. They hit him till they felt satisfied and only a bloodied body could be seen.

They left the boy alone in the dark alley.

*COUGH* *COUGH*

The boy coughed and blood came out his mouth.

"They didn't hold back.", he said weakly while wiping the blood away.

He had bruises al around his body, and at some places he was bleeding.

"Tsk! It hurts."

The boy tried to stand up but decided against it when he noticed the pain he felt. He rested against the dirty wall.

Outside the alley were people counting the seconds down. The New Year was almost beginning, and everybody was ready to celebrate it.

"Three!"

"Two!"

"One!"

"Happy New Year!"

Everyone did what they needed to do. Some were celebrating with their loved ones; some were still hurrying home, and some were maybe already sleeping. Everybody celebrated the first of January different.

The boy who sat in the dark alley looked at the street full of lights. He saw people walking, talking, running, laughing,..

He felt like he didn't belong in this place. That the world was excluding him.

Watching the once full street getting more and more deserted till only the bright light of the lamps were seen. He still sat down and wasn't planning to move any second now.

One minute passed

Two minutes passed

A half hour passed

An hour passed

Two hours passed

Three hours passed

It was not the first of January. Three hours already passed, and the boy finally opened his mouth:

"Happy Birthday."
