Chapter 6: CHP6. Mikaelson gathering
When i had finished my experiments it was time to gather my siblings and plan on a few things.
We agreed when we first split to meet every 5 years no matter what in Marseille, France where we first lived, but that was currently 2 years away. So what I did was send word to all of my siblings that weren't with me (Finn) telling them that we need to meet as soon as possible and I had some important things that needed discussing.
I received word back after a few hours thanks to us all having our own personal witches.
They some needed time to finish what they were doing or just needed time to travel. We agreed to meet in a months time in the usual place, Marseille.
Elijah at the moment was still traveling place to place not settling down for to long, 5 to 10 years at the most. He was currently playing king in what would be Spain.
Rebekah liked to live a life of royalty, so it wasn't a surprise to find out she living in Spain with Elijah. She was still clinging to the idea of having children but still hadn't just decided to raise an Abandoned child she could find.
Kol on the other hand was currently living in Asia. After spending many years chasing the next high like a junkie he had finally settled a little bit. The thing that made him focused was magic, he had been going from tribe to tribe learning and documenting all different types of magic. With the creation of HOSO one of the goals was to document and map all magical tribes so that all magical knowledge could be safely stored never to be destroyed. This was something Kol took to meeting different culture of magic and contributing himself to the development of magic.
And next Finn, he was currently living 5 minutes away from me. Since us finding Freya he's been in a lot better mood and receptive to his family, realizing that he had spent many years just living with no purpose and with no real care of if he lives or dies. With the idea of seeing and being able to speak to Freya in 30 to 40 years its made him a lot more pleasant to be around.
This months wait for myself was spent in a serene peace. I was taking this month as a break after many years of hard work.
I still trained my powers but that was because it was a part of my routine, but an interesting thing that happened was I got Finn to agree to train with me. I taught him how to better control his mental powers and ways to improve his physical capabilities.
This also give me the best sparring partner the supernatural community currently has to offer.
For my past sparring sessions i had been using a couple of hybrids, 3 in particular. I had made sure were the best of the best. I had brought in the best martial arts teachers and had been giving them tips and insight in how to improve their powers, but that wasn't enough to push me physically. When i just wanted to be practice form and skill they were useful, being able to push me in that area but when we simulated fights they were still to weak.
Finn was probably the most physically strong Original other than myself thanks to actually be a grown man when he was turned, giving him the eternal gift of grown man strength.
While he wasn't as strong as me, if i didn't go all out (use my werewolf strength) he could still give me a decent fight.
We were currently outside in my own personal coliseum that was used as an area where all combat, magic training was held , it was located a few minutes away from my house. It was hidden from public eye with some strong do not see spells.
We had just got done sparring, we had blood all over ourselves. Thankfully the arena wasn't damaged thanks to the spells that were woven into the creation of this place, keeping it free of harm.
"A good place you've got for yourself here, Niklaus." Finn said.
"Thanks brother, your always welcome to spar if you want, I desperately need good sparring partners." I replied
"I'm not talking about that brother." He said "I mean your relationship with our siblings, Aurora, all the land and power."
"Don't stress brother." I said, "They are all things that are attainable for us, You want a better relationship with our siblings all that's needed is time and effort."
"I know that, but its a lot harder than it sounds." Finn replied.
"Its really not brother, your just thinking of the negatives." I said. "Just don't over think it, when we see them in Marseille just apologize to each of them. Rebekah and Elijah will forgive you no problem and Kol will probably take a while but he will come around he always does."
"I know " Finn said "I never would of expected as a children asking you for advice, but here we are. You've become wiser. Age has been kind to you brother."
"Thank you brother." I continued "Also my relationship with Aurora is natural, one day you will find someone you wish to be with for the rest of your life. All you need to do is recognize when you do find her and make sure when you do, to not screw it up."
Finn nodded in agreement, I continued
"Land is also easily obtainable for us. But don't expect just because you can compel anything you want that it will mean anything to you. Just find some nice land and build your greatest dreams, the things you wished for as a child and you will be grand." I said
"I understand brother." Finn said, I continued
"Power both physically and socially is an illusion you must stay wise to. Know this, at the moment we are at the top of the food chain, but if we decided to take our power for granted and stop trying to improve that's when we give these other people the chance to close the gap with us.
I continued,
"For example if for the rest of my life i was to spend it doing nothing productive, stopped training my powers, stopped learning new things and a vampire who was going to live for the next hundreds or even thousands of years spent this time training and learning new things what do you think will happen?"
"He will grow and learn ways to close the gap?" Finn answered unsure.
"Correct if that were to happen, this random vampire would have learned so much that a time will come where he's able to find a way to improve his own strength, out either scientific means or even magical ways. Maybe it could even be naturally, if he was train his mental strength with meditation and other techniques there's no limit to what he could achieve." I said, continuing.
"If I was to be satisfied with my own strength, that would mean i had stopped learning and the guy who kept learning is still improving, so if even our strength right now is worlds apart over the years that we live he will eventually reach me and could climb even higher."
So you must keep in mind Finn that never be satisfied with the level your currently at because there will always be another level to reach and if you do get satisfied, there is another man out there who hasn't stopped levelling and will never stop.
"I understand brother. I appreciate you telling me this, i will keep your words in mind and will keep levelling up." Finn said with a serious tone.
"I didn't mean to get so deep." I said seeing his face.
"No, it was good i needed to hear this. If we want to be happy and keep everything we've got we need to work hard to make sure we don't get complacent and lose it." Finn said
"I'm glad you understand." I replied
We walked to the edge of a nearby cliff jumping into the freezing cold water to wash of all the blood.
When we were cleaned we got dressed and started walking.
"I'm sorry, I know I've been a bad brother to you and the rest of our siblings, but I'm willing to make it up to you all." Finn said
"I understand brother. I've already forgiven you. You and the rest of our siblings will always be welcome here, at my home." I replied
"I appreciate that Niklaus." Finn responded.
"Anyway, we need blood. Lets go hunting." I said
"You know that I dislike killing humans brother." Finn replied.
"You don't need to kill to hunt, if you don't want to." I said "Just drink your fill then erase the memories and it will be like it never happened."
"Fine but your going to need to teach me, I've never hunted humans." Finn said
"Don't worry about that brother. If i cant teach you how to hunt fresh food you'll never be able to learn." I joked
So as I taught him how to properly hunt and also enjoy it, our brotherhood grew from the strained relationship of the past to a genuine brotherhood which to the likes of mine and Elijah's.
After a good month, the time had come for the Mikaleson's to meet.
I brought along, with myself and Finn, Aurora of course, 2 witches, my 3 hybrids that I kept at my place. These three hybrids were my personal hybrids that I kept close at all times. These three were the best of the best. They had been relentlessly trained for any situation that may arise and will be in time be enhanced, as i continue to grow i will need capable people around me to also grow alongside me.
The rest of my hybrids were located in different areas of Scotland, running different sectors for me, reporting everything monthly or if some thing important needs my attention urgently they have permission to contact me immediately.
The two witches were two females aged 23 and 25 respectively they were the brightest witches of their generation. Aurora was a possessive woman, so she was responsible for the two witches while i dealt with my hybrids, who were all low maintenance. The idea of keeping witches close was that if a situation arises where magic is needed urgently, I will have some that i can trust which means no having to threaten some local ones, who inevitably dislike vampires.
With us living in Marseille for many years before and visiting every 5 years, we didn't need to take much, having the necessities already waiting for us there.
So for the first time in 3 years all the living Mikaelsons were reunited together. Enjoying their time together with minimal arguments and worry's before discussing the real problems they faced.
