Chapter 6: Chapter 6
Flight from New York to Forks took roughly six hours. He spend the whole fight relaxing and trying to get used to new sensations.
It was not as hard as he imagined to get used to everything, it felt natural.
Well stepping out of the airport, he looked around, this place had a good ambiance. It was cloudy and refreshing, having a slight coolness in the air.
" Ian " called his uncle Arthur, smiling as he caught sight of him; his uncle Arthur was the younger brother of his dad.
" Uncle " he returned a smile of his own and walked towards him, giving a brief hug.
" Grown more handsome, huh son, " his uncle said while leading him to his car.
" Still short as ever I see " he joined the slight banter.
His uncle just chuckled, used to his antics, and with twins at home there was never a dull movement.
His uncle was a nice man, and always had soothness to him. Well, he was a Lutheran pastor, goodness was like his bone.
Quite ironic for them to be around each other, as vampires had no business being around religion.
Being part-vampire made him happy as it was easier to blend, in compared to others out there.
Well, his uncle had helped him a lot during this move, from looking over renovations of the house that his parents owned in the town to registering him for high school.
" I'll drop you, rest, and get familiar with the space, you can unpack a little. Then have dinner with us tonight " he said while glancing at me, seeing me nod he continued "Your aunt, wants you to be frequent to ours for meals, no getting hold up in your house "
Ian knew how his aunt could be, so he did not argue just grinned and agreed.
He had great discussions with his aunt about, where he should be staying, it took a lot of convincing to be able to have his own place.
" It's nice to have aunt's food, and not worry about them so much " Although Ian couldn't help but think of his appetite, scratch that, he needs to worry about them.
Soon his house came into view, it was a two-bedroom, one-bathroom, craftsman home, nice and cozy.
" Thanks uncle, I really appreciate it," he added looking around the house.
" Well, now, you're welcome " his uncle just lightly waved off, showing him it was not a big deal.
They had small discussions about the school, and the dinner tonight. The conversation came to an end with him reminding Ian, about how they were family and he could come to them in need.
After the heartfelt movement, they parted.
Ian stared out the window of his new home in silence. Taking in the beauty of this place.
Everything was green; the trees, their trunks covered with moss, branches hanging with a canopy of it, the ground covered with ferns.
Even the air filtered down greenly through the leaves.
This was his second life, his second chance; making him stop and appreciate every single thing about it.
Life was beautiful and he'll do anything to keep it that way.
Even if dangers hide under the false sense of peace. He had powers to keep himself and his family safe, he promised himself to not take them for granted.
He had made a new regime, he will work hard and improve every day.
Moving around the house, he started to unpack everything. While practicing his control over his movements.
After a few hiccups he was done, it was an hour before he had to set off; so he took a quick shower and changed.
Then, with a last look, he went out.
The night was well spent with good food, familiar company and joyful laughter.

Sorry guys, I got sick which made me delay posting the chapters.
I will try to keep at least a twice-a-week publishing schedule.
