Chapter 7: Chapter 6

Deep in the Forest of Beginnings, a regal and handsome young man is facepalming on the edge of his bed in his cottage.

"God I am such an immature brat! Now that I think about it, couldn't I have just said that I have no interest in being a hero or a king, and that I intend to travel the world as an adventurer? Instead, like a little pansy I ran into the woods and hid. God, I need to go back to the capital." With determination in my heart, I clenched my fists and stood up. At that moment, there was surprisingly a knock at my door. Getting into a combat stance with my sword drawn, I slowly made my way to the door, only to relax when I recognized the scent. It's somehow Susie!

"Well, come on in then Susie." I said in a calm voice, and heard her gasp on the other side of the door before rushing in and staring at me with a look of sadness, anger and worry. Sighing at the mess that I had created, I gestured to the only chair at the table in the cottage, and Susie sat down. Once she was seated, I leaned forward and said very seriously, "First off Susie, I am sorry about the way that I behaved back in the throne room, running off like that. Secondly, know this: I have no desire to be a hero or a king, so if that's what you're here about then I must decline. Lastly, I intend to travel the world and grow stronger in magic and learn more powers for my race. I have been a fool and given too much information away to too many people. I am glad that we can reconcile, but I still must say that I am going on a journey far away, and have no clue when I may return to visit you." Seeing Susie begin to cry, I sighed yet again, before getting up and hugging her.

"Listen to me Susie, none of this has anything to do with you. I just wish to explore the world alone and grow stronger. I also want to meet new people and make many friends. One day I will think about love, but until then, I will enjoy this life to it's fullest, as I have all of eternity to do so. Now Susie, I must go. Tell your father that I send my warmest regards.. oh and your mother too." Getting up, I pat her gently on the head a couple times before taking off in a flash out of the cottage and making my way rapidly through the forest depths and to the north. An hour of full speed later and I finally made it out of the far north of the forest and to a completely new land.

Taking in a deep breath, I walked forward to my future...

Back in the cottage...

"Idiot. Fool. Jerk.. Why?! Why did you have to leave me?! We were just starting to really get to know each other and I got excited just thinking that I could possibly spend the rest of my life with you. But you took that all away!" Susie began to cry her heart out, when the court mage came walking into the cottage and walked over to Susie. Kneeling down before the princess, she reached out and wiped the poor girl's tears away before speaking. "My princess, don't be so sad. You will see that man again some day. I think it might be even sooner than we can imagine. Now, we must be off back to the castle. Surely His and Her Majesty are worried sick about you." Getting up with her head down, Susie walked behind the court mage with her head down until the exit of the cottage. Once she was out, she stared off into the distance and whispered, "Sir Elliot.. please return soon.."

One month later...

A lone man wanders down a dirt path making his way to the north and west. Before long he reached a hill and as he was about to climb it, suddenly the sound of a horse drawn carriage could be heard behind him. Turning around, he saw a caravan of about twenty carriages and in the middle was a very expensive looking carriage. Suddenly all of the carriages stopped, and a young woman with purple hair in a pony tail and purple eyes, wearing knights armor stepped forward and spoke to the man. "Hello traveler! You are in the presence of Princess Luxia of Velheim to the north. We are on our way back from visiting Reikweld. If you wish, you may join our caravan, however you will need to go to the back or front with the adventurers. Nodding acceptance, the man headed to the front of the caravan and joined a carriage that had a free seat. Once he was settled, the caravan began to move once more.

"Another princess.. My god what is with my luck. At least she isn't fawning all over me after I saved her life or something. I don't wish to be some harem protagonist after all." This man was of course none other than Elliot who had been traveling to the north for over a month now with no goal in mind. Killing monsters as he went and storing them in his storage ring, he now had a full ring and needed to sell the monster corpses at an adventurers guild as soon as possible.

Now, with a destination in mind and people to travel with, Elliot is ready for his new adventure to begin. He can only hope that nothing ridiculous happens on the way to this new kingdom...
