Chapter 57: Ultor. A hero or a villain.
News of the Gotham Prison Massacre. They spread like a plague on social media.
The media is debating the subject of "The Demon of Gotham." Put simply, the media has split into two camps. Ultor's supporters and opponents who challenge him to monsters and villains.
In Gotham, however, things are completely different. If anyone would even try to say something bad or openly call Ultor a monster. He would either be beaten or laughed at. And driving out of town.
The people of Gotham can be safely called fanatics. Though not an accomplice, he has not done anything seriously wrong. Like killing someone else who doesn't agree with their belief in a hero. Because they are faithful, I believe that even punishment will not avoid them if they do something wrong. So they seek to mock and shout at such people, and strength in the group. Because if someone shouted something bad about Ultor, in the town square. It is the whole market that would see them as the worst rubbish. If anyone would dare to offend their hero who keeps their children safe. He would have met with a million evil looks and contempt. Which is not a pleasant experience, and for some, it is worse than a physical wound.
A prime example would be a bar incident that happened on the day of the publication of the prison events.

The music was interrupted by the latest announcement that caught the attention of all customers.
(Reporter)-Breaking news. In Gotham City's main prison. The prisoners were to be imprisoned, to the prisons located near Metrocity, Jump City. However, only a smaller proportion of the prisoners managed to do so. The rest did not manage to be imprisoned. Well, when the second transport was about to start, the well-known Ultor appeared on the spot. "Demon from Gotham".
(Reporter)-And according to reports. Ultor barricaded the only exit from the prison building. And he carried out a riot on prisoners. The death toll was 75% of all prisoners. Adding that 20% were detained early. The remaining 5% are prisoners with the lowest offenses. Like petty thefts. However, they also did not leave the building unscathed. The silence was interrupted by the bartender, who said angrily in his voice.
(Bartender)-You're young, so I forgave you. But now get out of my bar. You don't understand what was happening in the city before Ultor appeared. How much have we suffered, how much have I suffered. Everyone in the bar shared the Bartender's opinion. And they made away towards the exit, and the sight of their eyes made them all. That the boy ran out with tears in his eyes. Because the pressure that was put on it was quite hard to bear.
Meanwhile, at the Justice League headquarters in Washington. There were meetings attended by the League's main crew, with one addition being a Cyborg. Who left the League some time ago and joined the Teen Titans. However, at a special invitation, he showed up on the spot.
The main reason for the meeting was the incident in the prison. Because it was the first "official" act against a villain on such a large scale. Which caused even Superman to stop being passive in his actions against him. When Ultor attacked the villains, one at a time, on a fairly small scale. Meaning he did a lot of it. times, but not on such a scale. How to kill a few hundred prisoners at once. Which caused even him and a few others. They asked Batman for explanations.
And so it was established that during the meeting, a decision will be made on the further actions of the League in the case of Ultor.
(Superman)-As you all know, there was a mass slaughter in Gotham City involving the infamous Gotham hero Ultor.
(Arrow)-Yes, apparently he slaughtered almost the entire prison. It is true that most are murderers and criminals of a high degree. But...
(Superman)-But still. Ultor committed mass genocide. Which doesn't leave much to be said. Killing is wrong, no matter why or whom.
(Arrow)-However, Superman has to admit. It's during Ultor's actions. Crime in Gotham is declining and to this day. Crime almost gone.
(Superman)-Which is why he needs to be caught and brought to trial. So if he has such power and definitely wants to help. Though his methods are wrong. If he got him on the right path, he might be a better hero. Not a murderer who kills in the name of justice.
Then came Batman, who has been strangely silent since the meeting began.
(Batman)-And I wonder how you will do it. Because you can see he is powerful now. Maybe even stronger than you .... And unlike you, he cannot be defeated with just any pebble from space.
(Superman)-Try it anyway and even if there is a fight. Winners and the cause that he will see his mistakes.

(Batman)-I understand. But aren't you curious? Why Diana doesn't say anything. Since every time we have to fight someone strong. She screams to fight.
This sentence made even Superman not know what to say. Even the rest of the League was shocked because they hadn't thought why.
(Superman)-....

Her father wanted Ultor never to know about him, to ignore him, sort of was afraid.
(Superman)-I understand the threat. So anyway. He wants to go to Gotham .... Diano if you don't want to stay. And the rest, who wants, let him follow me. Tomorrow at noon, let's go.
(Diana)-I will go too.
(Batman)-Yes, Bruce. I have to ... I have to know.

I deleted the last chapter for several reasons.
First of all, it was not what I wanted, not this the MC I created.
