Chapter 2: The Decision I

———

Hmm.

The smell of iron and steel.

What these fools are doing are worthless.

These things are nothing against my blood.

Do they really think that those blades and knives can harm me?

What a shame.

At least they must use blood against me, at least make a scratch.

Huh?

Who the hell are you?

....hey....

It's about to start anyway..

....Evan....

..blame your own weakness, mortal..

....Evan....

DIE!!!..

———

"EVAN!!"

"Aw!! My ears. I can get up on my own, old man." A noon sunlight kiss his white, nearly pale, face.

"So, what are you going to do next? Are you going to kill the Benark boy or what?" a smirk. "I would love to taste king's blood."

The blood debt. Damn.

"Not right now. It gives me headache." He said as he changed his clothes. In the mirror stood an eight hundreds years old man with a young man face. The scars on his back are so massive that they cross his back to his stomach. Wyvern's claws.

"We have to be at Asterl before night, remember?" Grimmore said before he vanished away.

Evan strapped his knives in his boots and under his cloak before he left his house. People wandering around stores and taverns, but not much around Mama Knows. That's normal. Who in the hell wants to be near that place. A thief den. Usually occupied by bounty hunters. He stalked down the pathway to the end of valley. Down to the sewer, where no one could smell his blood scent, Evan cut his finger to trickle the blood.

Drip. "Ireos."

One driblet of black blood, as a black bloody door appeared, he opened and got through it. Later, he was at the golden castle door, Weyn's hall.

Click.

The door was opened, and there was an old man sitting in his throne.

"Long time no see, lord Vlad.."

"Evan, not that name." He interrupted.

"Alright, Evan. Have a seat." The king ordered.

"Stop wasting my time, Weyn. What is it about?" The thief said.

"Fine." The king frowned. "You must know already that Illuke declared a war. I want to have you by my side, to conquer this war. To rule the land. For freedom. For the new generation."

"I fight for no one, Weyn. You know that." Evan riposted.

Silence devoured the hall.

"Then god may have mercy." Weyn said before he waived a hand gesture to Bane, to escort Evan out of the hall.

"Did we slap him to hard?" Evan whispered as he walking in the castle hallways.

"Maybe too hard." A voice whispered back and giggled. "And, are you going to join the war?"

"I am and I will."
