Chapter 6: Appearance of Seventh Commander!
Zhan-yu was from a place that had the technology. Since this place didn't appear to have any electricity, he had thought it to be medieval. But when the lights came on, he was surprised at what he saw.
It was a basement full of technology, some of which even he hadn't seen before.
The place was around 50,000 sq ft. The place was fully lit up with lights of different colors. "How is it that this old place has all this modern equipment. Not to mention there's electricity." He looked around in confusion. "Am I dreaming? I have to be." He pinched himself in the face. Hard. "Ouch!" he screamed in pain and started rubbing his face. "I guess I'm not dreaming."
He started to look around and found that there was that mysterious word written again on the walls. 'בַּעַל אוֹב'. Only this time, the word wasn't hidden somewhere. It was written in huge letters on the wall. Just to make sure there wasn't a secret passage behind that, Zhan-yu touched it. "I guess there are no more secret passages here then." This place was too big for Zhan-yu. There was no way he would be able to explore this place in one day, so he took it easy and started to look at the machines.
"Fighting Simulation? What is that?" Zhan-yu slowly, with hesitation, stepped on the machine, scared of what surprise he would get. "Huh! Nothing." Then unexpectedly, he saw a message.
[Prerequisite to fight on this machine not met.]
"There are hundreds of machines here. How am I going to find the prerequisite for it?" Zhan-yu decided to forget about this machine and look at the others.
"Oh! Is that a door?" Zhan-yu ran toward the door and opened it. Shocked, he grabbed his face out of confusion. "What the f*** is wrong with this place? First all the technology outside, and now this."
After opening the door, he found a luxury house. In front of him was a lobby with shinning carpets. On the right, a kitchen to cook. The fridge was filled with stuff he hadn't seen before. The place had a red theme, as though the place was meant for royalty to live in. He was a prince in the place he was from, and he still had never seen such a beautiful place in his life.
He continued looking around and found a bedroom. The bed was queen size, and on top was written the same word: 'בַּעַל אוֹב'. He had seen that word so many times that it didn't bother him anymore, so he kept searching. In one of the drawers, he found a ring. The ring was purple and had 'בַּעַל אוֹב' written in black.
"Oh! I think this ring will probably suck my blood too." The reason Zhan-yu had come to that conclusion was because of the color of the letters. Whenever the word was red and he touched it, nothing happened, like with the one on top of the bed or outside on the wall. But whenever it was black, it would take his blood and doors would open.
"Here it goes." Even while being scared and shivering, he decided to touch it. That was the only choice he had. "Oh! I was wrong." Nothing had happened. Zhan-yu was confused. He had thought his theory was perfect, so why hadn't it worked? He decided to put the ring on. As soon as he put the ring on his finger, he screamed, "AHH!" If there had been people around Zhan-yu, they would have lost their ability to hear, that's how loud Zhan-yu's scream was. It was as if hundreds of needles were piercing through his skin.
"Am I going to die?" I haven't done enough. What about my promise to father? With determination in his eyes, he shouted from deep inside, "No, I'm going to live." Suddenly, he woke up in a place he had never been to. "Oh! The gate from a dream I had once."
"Hello, Master. I assume now that you are able to see clearly in here, you found the 'בַּעַל אוֹב', right?"
Zhan-yu turned around and looked at the person behind him. What he saw terrified him. "Ahh! What are you? Who are you? Where is this place?" Zhan-yu had a good reason to be terrified. Though the person behind him was a shadow, somehow it had materialized and had a mind of its own.
"I am sorry, Master. I apologize for my manners. I forgot that you don't remember anything." He was a polite gentleman with manners. He had a good suit on, as if he was going to a party in a few hours. "Master, I know you are curious about me and this place. Let me provide you with the information that you need."
"Master, my name is השביעי. But Master won't understand what I'm saying because the master doesn't remember. But in your language, you can call me the seventh."
Zhan-yu, being terrified, kept his distance. If he could find a door, he would run for it. "What do you mean, Seventh?"
"Master, this place exists in a different realm, created by its god." Even though Seventh looked terrifying, his voice was like a bird waking you up in the morning with his sweet voice. But that alone wasn't enough to make Zhan-yu any less terrified.
"Master, you probably remember you encountered a wall outside."
Zhan-yu answered while still looking for a way to run, "Ah! Yes, I do remember something like that."
"Master, that wall will only open after you pass a test here. Basically, the outside world has a total of seven walls. Same as the door we have here, the first one is right there."
"I remember that. But that time you said it wasn't time yet. What made me worthy this time around? Also, does that mean this world and that one are connected?"
"Master, don't take it the wrong way. It's just that you didn't have the ring with you at that time. About these worlds being connected, it's more like they are the same. I cannot go into much detail about that, but to put it simply, the outside world has seven gates. All the gates have their own commander. I am the commander of the seventh gate."
"So basically, if I pass a test in here, I will open a wall outside, and I can pass that wall."
"Yes, Master, but let me explain the situation outside. The first gate is the easiest one. It is an entry-level gate. To put it simply, it is just a tutorial. The other commanders and gates are the problem. Also, in entry-level, the animals are just rabbits and other small animals. "Actually, it is quite simple, Master. Each test is the same in every gate. You just have to defeat us, commanders."
