Chapter 6: Festus Or The Van (Nico)
I had contacted the rest of the seven and we all searched the streets of wherever-we-are. Everyone was together again, we weren't expecting this for another couple of years. Rachel explained that something bad is going to happen on the mission to Atticus and that the prophecy will prevail in more ways than one. We had to tag along, it didn't matter if Atticus knew or not. Unfornently this super-bad-thing was going to affect the prophecy, 'A choice that Atticus makes here will tell if the prophecy will be lead by him or not.'
I half expected Percy to lead it but if it says Addy then Addy will. His disappearing could be the super-bad-thing that's going to happen. Only Percy, Annabeth, Will and myself were trusted with that information. It's time for me to step up, I called everyone over. Jason and Piper were holding hands, behind them Leo was walking. Soon I was surrounded by the seven.
"Rachel said that something will happen to Atticus today that will affect the prophecy," I explained hoping it gave them an extra push.
"So we need to find him, like now." Will stepped in.
Everyone shifted uncomfortably, they looked more worried now. Then an idea hit me.
"Frank!" I shouted, "you can turn into any animal right?"
He blushed and nodded his head.
"I have a shirt Atticus was wearing, turn into a dog or something so you can track him."
For a short while, everyone was looking around pleased and less worried. Will went into the van and got out his shirt.
"We'll keep searching," Hazel said.
She turned around and assigned everyone a place to search. As soon as everyone left she turned around and kissed Frank on the cheek before running off by herself.
Will then handed Frank the shirt, he then took a few steps away and turned into a wolf. Frank as sniffing the ground and started to walk away.
"When's the last time you've had an adventure?" Will asked.
I turned towards him confused and started to think.
"When Apollo was mortal," I said.
"Good, you're overdue." Will joked. "My boyfriend was getting lazy there for a second."
"Could you not-"
"Would you prefer a special guy? Significant other?"
"More like a significant annoyance," I said, trying to remember if we had this conversation before.
I rolled my eyes and kept to the van in case he came back. We searched and searched for hours, it was getting dark soon and I doubted anyone would find him. The seven returned back to the van, Kayla was with them and a look of worry was on her face too. I was about to call off the search when a girl about the same age as Atticus started running towards us.
"Alaric this isn't funny anymore!" she shouted.
As she got closer I could see her more clearly, she had auburn hair and silver eyes. She looked lost and worried. When she saw the ten of us together she froze. The girl then continued to walk towards us.
"Excuse me but have you seen a boy about 17? He has blonde hair and brown tips, he would've been wearing a back shirt and a gray coat. Goes by the name Alaric but if you met him he would've introduced himself as Ricky or Al." She explained.
Annabeth and Percy exchanged looks. Hazel and Piper looked at each other than at the girl. Everyone looked towards me, the person who had been giving the orders. Desperately I looked at Percy and he understood.
"Would you tell us your name?" he asked the girl.
The girl sighed and frowned, "It's Myra, now have you seen Ricky?"
She obviously was used to thinking that she didn't need the help of others. Percy could see this too and decided to take a different approach.
"Well we aren't going to find him standing around here, we'll help you look. We're actually looking for our friend too, his name is Atticus." Percy said this time talking to her as if he's known her for a long time.
The girl seemed less irritated by this and sighed again.
"If Ricky got to him first I doubt that you'd find him. They probably ran off together, damn him and his good looks. I know where they're headed, thanks for your help." Myra explained, she turned on her heel and started to walk away.
"Wait! If you know where they're going then can we tag along too?" Piper asked.
"I said if Ricky got to him first if he didn't the trip would be for nothing. Anyway, how would I know that you aren't trying to kidnap me?" She asked.
"Listen, you could be tricking us for all we know and asking us to follow you into the unknown. You could ambush us and only say you know where you're going. Then there's the matter on what if we saw him and only lied so you'd be on your way. The lies are getting us nowhere, no one gets what they want." Annabeth chimed in.
The girl stood there for a second a stormy look in her eyes, she was thinking it over.
"Fine," Myra said. "I don't have a car so we'd have to take yours." Myra insisted.
She started to head towards the car when Leo spoke up.
"We took a different car because we were called here to search for our friend." Leo pointed towards Piper and Jason.
The girl looked like she was thinking, "Which is bigger to fit all of us?"
"The van," Piper chimed in.
Myra turned around again and continued walking towards the van. Leo mouthed the word Festus, they took the dragon to get here fast. I sighed and turned towards Percy, "Wanna drive?" I threw him the keys.
Everyone pulled into the van and surprisingly everyone fit. Percy was driving with Annabeth by his side and everyone else sat behind them filling in in the back seat and behind it. I stretched out over Will and my sister's lap. A good nap would take the edge off about Addy. Wherever he was I hope he'd be safe, I promised Rachel and Chiron that I would protect him.
When everything was in chaos Addy was there to keep a leveled head. When Percy was missing he calmed me down on our searches for him. Even though at the time he hated me, I thought we were friends. Addy was always there for everyone and tried to be the best at everything, even though people didn't know his story they were mean to him. Bullied him because he's the only son and child of Artemis, the hunters hated him and the campers disrespected him. Percy saw through that, he said that he had reminded him of Calypso. How she was paying for her father's wrongdoings. With that thought I was asleep.
