Chapter 8: Second Room
Tomorrow morning.
Neil looks at the other room besides his room. This is the room with the large broken wall and clumps of debris in it.
The large broken wall is very alarming, and he have finally decided to deal with it.
He currently have 12 upgrades in him. He wanted to use these upgrades on this room.
So, he started doing that by taking care of the walls first.

After that, he takes care of the ceilings and the floor.

After that, he upgraded the two windows in this room.

Finally, he upgraded the entrance to this room, creating a door to this.

With this, he used up all of his upgrades. This took him several minutes.
"Phew. Now that's done!" He mutters as he looks at the room.
Unlike his room, this one is a bit larger. The space is just vast.
The clump of debris vanishes after he upgrades the floor and the walls. Though there are some scraps lying around this place after he was done with this.
He looks at the scattered scraps and trashes. Most of the things he saw are just torn pieces of clothes, and sometimes shorts.
Though his eyes squinted and his lips quirks upwards as he saw some useful trashes within it.

"I've been looking for this!"
He is excited with this discovery.
He wanted the oven because he imagines that he might be able to cook things within it just by upgrading it a lot.
He was planning to kill some birds flying around this building.
They look dangerous, and he is scared. They might suddenly gang up on him and peck him to death.
Still, he is hungry. Water doesn't even satisfy him anymore. He wanted something to change. A change of taste.
Though, he didn't know how to cook and he thinks trying to upgrade a dead meat might turn it back to life, so he decided against it. He will try later when he feels safe and he have upgrades to spare.
Anyway, the oven is for cooking things instantly without the need to know how to cook.
He is looking for a power source. His hi tech smartphone and energy pistol needed energy to work. The energy pistol and hi tech smartphone can automatically charge through sunlight, but it's the bare minimum. He have to wait for almost a whole day before one of them is fully charged.
So he wanted a power source. Something where he can charge these two things. A power bank or any electrical sources is preferred.
As for the ice box, he wanted to put anything perishable there. He will be hunting the birds, so he thinks it will be waste just leaving them alone without being able to preserve it.
So he wanted any preservation devices, like refrigerator or ice box.
With these three, he is becoming more and more closer to his self-sustaining life.
He took these three back to his room while the others are left here.

The evening comes and he is just looking at the windows, giddy at the prospect of making new items.
He have discovered when he gets his upgrades. It's always 12 AM.
This is thanks to his smartphone, which shows the accurate time in his current area.
That time is near. So he is just sitting on his bed and waiting for it.
After awhile...
[Upgrades +10]
With that prompt, he immediately moves to the scraps and pick the oven wirings.
The first thing he wanted is food, so he wanted this first. He didn't know whether it'll upgrade to the direction he wanted, but he wants to try.

He looks at the oven that looks very stylish and advance. It seems like it have it's own source of power, as it can be opened without connecting to any power source.
It have some buttons in it. All of it is all about cooking things.
Despite being an oven, it seems like it can fry, bake, steam, or do anything to ingredients inside it. He didn't know how that works.
He tried using the buttons, though that operation has been rejected. A message of "Insert ingredients first" occur after it reject operating.
"Ingredients...." He looks around.
He only have scraps in the room. Other than that, there is the water, but that's all he have.
"Damn." He looks grim. Though, a thought occured to him. "What if I upgrade it again?"
He looks at the oven, contemplating about it. He still have 6 upgrades left, so he thinks he can upgrade it once more.
"Nah. I'll do it next time."
He waves his hand in dismissal before looking at the piece of power bank and decided to upgrade it.

He is surprised when he upgraded it three times. The power bank looks bulky but is still small enough to fit on his hand.
It have some plugs where he can insert the others to charge those devices. He started with the Energy Pistol.
The energy pistol have this futuristic insertion that can be released on it's butt. He uses that mechanism and plugs it at the power bank.
"Woah!?"
His eyes widened when he saw the Energy Pistol suddenly lighting up. It lights up in green and this light blinks up repeatedly, which seems to indicate that it is already charged up.
He takes it off, surprised how fast it charges it up.
Then he tries it on his hi tech smartphone.
After plugging it, the battery of his hi tech smartphone, which is on the 43% suddenly moves into 44% just after he plugs it. A minute later and it's already on the 60%.
After a few minutes, it is fully charged.
"Amazing! This power bank can easily charge things up! I won't have to worry about energy sources!" He exclaimed happily.
Then he looks at the other scraps.
"Right. The ice box. I also have to take care of it."
With that, he uses his remaining upgrades on the ice box.

He is surprised when the shred piece of ice box suddenly turned into a large box easily reaching him in height. The box is cold to the touch. When he opens it, cold air slowly emanates in his surrounding.
"Too cold!"
He quickly closes it before sighing.
"Damn. That's too cold!" Even while whining, he is smiling. "Well, this will be useful for me!"
After all of that, he put it on the corner of the room before walking to his bed and sitting on top of it. He started thinking about his next actions.
So the room next to this one has been upgraded. The large broken wall has been repaired, so he won't have to think about it too much.
Still, there are still some rooms in this floor. Rooms with openings large enough that those dangerous birds can enter.
He have to take care of that too.
"Right. I have to close all entrances to this floor first before I think of upgrading things." He heard his stomach grumbling. "But I also wanted to eat something."
He looks pass the window, seeing the greenery in it.
"I wonder. If I get a plant or something in this place, maybe I can use that to produce food here?"
That's all just a thought. He wanted to take care of it sooner.
He pass his night thinking of his actions until he manages to sleep.
