Chapter 2: Chapter 2
The strange man who just invaded Nina kept looking around the house. He found a bottle of whiskey and poured himself some in a glass. "Should I get another glass for you?" He asked Amiya.
"I'm sixteen. I don't drink!"
"Oh! Very well then..." He said and drank all of the whiskey inside the glass. Then he commanded "Sit!" and Amiya took a sit on a couch.

When evening arrived, Alice decided to leave her Dad's house and took his car. She was still wearing her hoodie and sneakers, unlike when she arrived when it was empty and quiet, during evenings Warlington did show what it had to offer.
The streets were shining and cozy, kids were out to play and the wind was blowing. For a moment, Alice felt a bit alive and taken by the whole scenario. She followed the road which led to Warlington bar. It was a bit crowded along the way with a slightly jam, so she connected her phone's playlist to the car's speakers to keep her entertained.
A loud voice of Whitney Houston came on singing like there was no tomorrow. Alice was a huge fan of Whitney and she sang alongside her for sometime and suddenly the music stoped. She stopped singing and take a look, everything was fine. She checked her connection, it was fine.
"That's weird!" She said
She continued to drive for a minute and voila, she was outside at Warlington bar. It had already gotten dark, all the vampires who were scared of sunlight came roaming around looking for new people to feed on. But these vampires didn't have fangs outside, or turn into bats but for the matter of fact. They were beautiful.
Their skin was pale and eyes glittering in a form of gold, they shined even in darkest places and so familiar to human beings in a way that no one could tell a difference. And within them, lied the bad ones and good ones but the bad ones kept their bad side in check. All to avoid being noticed.
Alice got out of the car and stood by it for sometime just to observe the place, but then she felt a tap on the shoulder "Hey new girl..." it was Hawaii's voice and when Alice turned around she sighed.
"The hazel guy!"
"What?"
"This afternoon at my house. Remember the tree..."
"Oh yeah! How could I forget" said Hawaii while sipping his beer "You should come with me to a bonfire party. This is boring"
"And where's this party?"
"In the woods"
"Is it safe?" She asked and he came close to her and whispered with a grin on his face "I hope it's not. Don't you just like to explore a little bit of danger?"
Alice stepped back and looked at him. "No I don't" she replied and just when she wanted to leave Hawaii grabbed her hand firmly. They locked eyes.
"Hawaii" Nina called out, she was walking besides Amiya in a hurry. They looked like they just seen a ghost.
"What is it?" Hawaii asked with a look of concern.
Amiya replied "He's here"
"Who's here?"
"More like a ghost version of him! But I felt him, he snapped my neck"
"Snapped your neck?" Alice asked and for a moment it was all silent.
"Wow!" Exclaimed Nina and moved close to Alice "You look just like her..." she said and started touching Alice's face.
"Who?" Alice asked uncomfortably .
Hawaii cleared his throat "No one! Guys this is..."
"I'm Alice"
"Nice to meet you Alice. Are you new in town?" Amiya added
"Yeah! Are you guys like best friends?"
"We could be your best friend. You go to Warlington High?" Hawaii intervened with his grin which kind of made Alice blush.
"I'm starting tomorrow"
"We can't wait to see you there. But in the meantime..." Nina said and looked straight into Alice's eyes "You are not going to remember meeting us. Or this conversation"
She compelled Alice and when Alice opened her eyes, there was no one and she was all alone. But the compulsion didn't work on her and apart from forgetting the conversation they had, it made things worse and made her even more afraid. "Who are those people?" She asked herself while looking around like a lost puppy.
A young man in his black long fur coat was standing near a red track. He had beautiful blonde hair, and a cigar on his right hand. At first he was with his friends but when they left, he saw how confused Alice was and he called out "You okay over there?"
"Did you see where they went?" She asked
"Who?"
"I...I was talking to them just right now but..."
"But what?" Asked the young man and Alice didn't know what to say anymore. She moved closer to his track.
"It's weird"
"You want to smoke it off?"
"Sure"
He took out another cigar and lit out for Alice. But she's bad at smoking and she has never smoked anything in her life. She coughed and coughed until they just ended up laughing about it. Then, it was silent for a moment between them. Enzo was his name, and he was the son of the town's sheriff.
"Can I walk you home?" Enzo asked
"I have a car" She replied
"I'm Enzo"
"Alice"
"Well nice meeting you Alice. Better go home now before some blood sucking vampire gets to you" Joked Enzo and they laughed about it.
"A vampire?"
"You are not a believer?"
"Are you?"
"My Dad is a sheriff. I hear a lot..." He said and took out something out of his pocket.
It was just a piece of brown leaf which was dry. He gave it to Alice with a promise that it will make her safe and then urged her to get home.
The alarm went out at six in the morning and Alice was already up by then, ready for school. She climbed down the stairs to find her Dad in the kitchen eating breakfast. He had made banana pancakes and sandwiches.
"Good morning Dad" She greeted him with a kiss on his forehead.
"Morning. You are in good mood today"
"I am just excited to meet everyone"
"Did you make friends last night?"
"I wouldn't exactly put it like that, but I guess so"
"Okay, here's your lunch box" Mark handed Alice a full packed lunch in a pink container and Alice took it.
"Do you mind if I use your car...again?"
"How about you take the old one in the garage. It's still up and running, I have meetings today"
"Okay Dad"
Alice arrived at Warlington High in her old car which was blue and small. It even had scraps at the top but as long as the speed was relevant, then it was good. The first person to approach her as soon as she came out was Cullen, he was in his black denim and black shirt.
"Hey" He said
"Hey, good morning"
"Morning, nice car"
"Oh, my thank you. It's a lot of work. You are a student here?"
"Yeah, senior. Are you the new girl everyone is talking about?"
"People are talking about me?" Alice asked a bit taken by everything.
"I'm Cullen" He offered his hand for a handshake and Alice took it. But it felt weird for a moment.
Cullen's hand was so hot, very hot to the point that it burned Alice. She quickly pulled out her arm away.
"You are hot!" She said still looking at her hand.
"Am I?" Cullen asked
"No I mean hot, hot. You nearly burned my hand"
"Sorry, sorry"
Nina and Hawaii were leaning on a wall paying attention to every word between Cullen and Alice. "She can notice us?" Nina argued.
"That means your compulsion didn't work last night. Alice is a supernatural, you can't compel her" Said Hawaii
"You think she'll remember us?"
"Don't be absurd! It's very possible, just keep your head high"
Amiya arrived at the parking lot with her car and once she got out, she made her way straight to Nina and she was holding a big book which had a magic sign on top of the cover. A grimoire.
"Guys, follow me..." She instructed
"What is it Amiya?"
"I think I may have found a spell which helped Nazar to make his way here, from the other side"
"This from your grandma?"
"Yes! Come on let's go..."
"I'm going to be right behind y'all. I need to talk to her..." said Hawaii looking at Alice who was making her way to the hallway.
"No, No Hawaii. Not this time, we can't allow the history to repeat itself. Come one we both know how that ends up"
"You don't know nothing Nina! You obviously don't know me"
Hawaii took off and followed Alice, Cullen was making his way towards them and he bumped into Hawaii. "What's up man?" he said and Hawaii didn't even pay attention to him and walked away. His eyes were fixed where Alice stood with a bunch of newcomers waiting for ID's and registration.
"What's wrong with him?" asked Cullen to Nina and Amiya who were looking at him too.
"He's obsessed again"
"Again?" Amiya asked.
"Yes again, four hundred years a go we were this close to breaking the curse. We had everything, a witch, a werewolf, and Lunara descendant who had come of age. But he messed up"
Cullen looked at Nina and asked "What did he do?"
"He fell in love with her. Love is weakness, when you care for someone that's when you become weak" explained Nina and then, they all looked at Hawaii interacting with Alice.
He was so close to her grinning from ear to ear and completely trying to swoon in Alice. He knows what happens, it never ends good for them but Hawaii was a man who loved to embrace challenges. He rises in the face of danger and doesn't get scared away easily. Just like how it happened in 1410, 1510, 1910 and every century after that where Lunara descendant is set to appear, Hawaii was always waiting for her.
His whole life is centered around her, constantly waiting and waiting for her to show up so he could fall in love with her all over again. Alice on the other hand felt like she knew this man before even though she struggled to notice when and where did she actually meet him.
"I feel like I've seen you before. Did you by any chance lived in Chicago?" She asked when they were on a restaurant having coffee. She had been staring for a while hoping maybe she might remember him, and it's been a week since she arrived at Warlington.
"I was in Chicago, it was a time where everyone wanted to be in Chicago"
"What time?"
He chuckled softly and said "The time of jazz, music and alcohol. The parties lasted till dusk and they were never dull. Women of the twenties were..."
"Twenties?" She asked out of curiosity
"Did I say twenties?"
"Yes, you said women of the twenties"
"Ouch!" He smiled and moved close to Alice, his hair which was on his forehead made him even more cocky and intriguing for any girl to resist.
Alice looked at him and how beautiful and handsome he was, she couldn't contain herself anymore and at that moment she just wanted him. It was too soon and she barely knew the guy, a week ago she was even afraid of him but after spending everyday together. The hands which she couldn't trust, became the very ones where she felt safe.
And after a moment of locking eyes and staring, she found herself between the sheets with him. He was naked and so was she. She didn't remember all the details but it was just one kiss that lead them there. Hawaii was soft and tender when making love to her and Alice's hands were all over his back as he grind himself inside her.
She moaned, bite her lips and dipped her nails in his back yearning for more. Somehow the sex was so hot and good in such a way she felt like she had it before, it all felt like a dream to her. But quickly snapped her back to reality when Hawaii asked her "More coffee?" and there she realized there were still at the restaurant and her brain was playing tricks on her. She nodded with a smile and he poured her another cup of coffee.
