Chapter 96: Secrets related to the mistress

Xua Yenay looked at the second-hand computer and thoughtfully said, " Can you even make a broken secondhand computer work? Even if we do not have enough money there is no need for you to pick up useless things from the junkyard like this, I can still take care of you."

Xua Ying Yue thought about the measly sum which her sister earned and the prices of computers in the shop before pursing her lips. If possible she too wanted to buy a first-hand computer but the prices were simply exorbitant, even if she was to save for more than two years, she will not be able to save enough to buy a new one. It was better to repair a second-hand one and use it.

" The condition of the computer is not that bad, I only need to replace a few parts and it will be good as new," Xua Ying Yue told her sister, she did not wish to burden her sister any more than she already had, even though Xua Yenay did not say anything, Xua Ying Yue knew that her sister was still unmarried because of her.

At her age, she should be dating a nice guy but instead, she spent her days worrying about her. Xua Ying Yue had done a mental calculation and knew that her sister did not have much savings on her, in such a situation it would be foolish of them to make any extravagant expenses.

Xua Yenay looked helplessly at her sister who was still adamant about repairing the computer, she looked at the surface of the computer and then the dust and scratches piled up on it. One could see that it was sitting in the junkyard for months and could not be scrapped either for her sister to say that she could repair it, Xua Yenay felt like Xua Ying Yue was being too naive which was why she once again tried to convince Xua Ying Yue as she spoke in a wheedling voice,

"I still think that you should buy a new computer instead, what if you buy the spare parts and the computer does not start? Wouldn't it be twice the loss?"

Xua Ying Yue knew that her sister was only looking out for her which was why she consoled her and said, " Sister dont worry, I will just try this out alright? There is nothing to lose anyway, the spare parts were not as expensive and in case it turns on wouldn't be saving money instead?"

" But——"

" Look at it carefully, even though it looks like it's in bad condition, the computer is not that damaged, I just need to repair some of its keys and reinstall the system. After this it will be fine," Xua Ying Yue explained it carefully to Xua Yenay as she started to dismantle the computer, Xua Yenay wanted to watch Xua Ying Yue repair the computer and thus stayed behind as Xua Ying Yue fiddled with the computer and then started to reassemble it as she changed the broken part before turning it on.

To Xua Yenay's surprise, the computer indeed turned on.

Xua Yenay looked at the switched-on computer and was fairly surprised as she exclaimed, " It really turned on? I did not think that you were so experienced. You are indeed quite smart, Yue'er"

Xua Ying Yue: "….." So you were not convinced when I topped the university's exam?

Though she was a bit speechless, Xua Ying Yue did not take offence and turned to face the small computer as she started typing on it without looking up, "It is not done, I need to reinstall the system first."

As she spoke, the computer started to install the program by itself.

While the computer program was loading, Xua Ying Yue started to fiddle with the usable parts which she brought from the junkyard, seeing Xua Ying Yue work on those parts, Xua Yenay could not help but ask, "What are you doing with these? Are they supposed to be used in the computer as well?"

" Hmm," Xua Ying Yue did not agree nor refused as she fiddled with the Metallic parts which she brought from the junkyard. These things that she brought with her were going to be used to make a self-defense device, since she had gone against Qi Qing and Fan Jiayi, she knew that they were going to make trouble for her.

Which was why she wanted to be prepared for it.

" I see," Xua Yenay did not have any idea about electronics, since Xua Ying Yue said that this thing was most probably related to the computer, she did not question her sister and instead turned to look at the clock which was hanging on the wall, no sooner did Xua Yenay's gaze fell on the clock, she exclaimed, "It is already eight! What are you doing, let us go and eat dinner or else you will have indigestion."

With that Xua Yenay ushered Xua Ying Yue to leave her work and finish her meal.

Just like that three weeks passed by in a blink of an eye, Xua Ying Yue started to spend her time taking care of the plants which were killed by Grandpa Mo and going to the bridge where she looked for the young boy who despite her warning continued to come and gambled along with the adult men.

Seeing the little boy was still coming to the bridge while wearing even more tattered clothes Xua Ying Yue did not say and simply kept an eye on him. While hiding behind a tree trunk, she snapped a few pictures of the young boy who looked pitiful and then followed him home when he lost his bet again which was not surprising.

Xua Ying Yue had thought that since Ma Yao gave enough money to Pei Qingjiao would be living in a decent place but to her surprise the child was staying in a small apartment which was in a building that looked old and downtrodden, a flash flickered in her eyes as she snapped another image of the young boy going inside the apartment before turning around.
