Chapter 13: 13

the days passed by so quickly. it was a month and two weeks already since I started dating Zyrine.

Axel's band, Novellus, had been looking for a vocalist since their previous singer wasn't attending their supposed performances on the past events. Axel offered me the official position even though there's an on-going audition. He did things to get my favor. He bought me food, he went with me anywhere I wanted when Zyrine and my friends weren't around.

I couldn't say no but I couldn't say yes either. Then that motherfucker used his last card, which is my girl, Zyrine. He pleaded with Zyrine to help him convince me to be their vocalist.

When Zyrine talked to me, she used my weakness. She asked me with her puppy eyes and with her softest voice that I couldn't say no anymore.

Now, I'm stuck with Axel and his band. I mean, our band, rather. This is the last day we're practicing since tomorrow is the start of the intramural. We're going to sing for the opening for three days straight.

To be honest, I kinda liked it. You have a lot of advantages when you're in a performance team.

You got vouchers for all the games as a reward for performing and free foods!

Zyrine was also practicing since she's part of the dance club. I was so excited to see her nail her performance again. She told me she was going to have a solo again.

Zyrine's team and my team were already done with performing. We were now going down to the cafeteria to eat breakfast.

As I watched Zy earlier, I felt nostalgic. It brought back the time when I first felt like the world is in slow motion.

"I want to watch a movie," Zy stated. I stopped drinking my water and glanced at her.

"Sure, alright." We finished eating our food and went upstairs to the second floor where the movie booth is located.

Cold air hugged us as soon as we got inside the room. It was dark and the room was empty. No chairs and locker, just the room itself and a not so big television for the viewers.

We were in the middle of watching an action movie when Zy whispered to herself, "fuckin' cold." I chuckled when I heard her curse. I removed my jacket and put it on her. She stared at me for a while then smiled afterward. She moved closer to me and hugged my arm. My heart was quick to respond and now it was pounding so hard. I breathe softly to calm myself down. I pat her head, which is leaning on my shoulder, and she replied with a bite on my hand. I kissed her head and she let my hand go.

Geez.

I stretched my arms as soon as we got outside the movie booth. Zy was hungry again and she was bored so we ate and played as she wanted. We were on our way to the balloon booth when two of our junior went to handcuffed our hands to them. Zyrine and I just shrugged and go with them with our hands intertwined.

The two younger students pushed us a little inside the marriage booth room. Who in the heck put our names on the list?

The "ceremony" began quickly.

The fake priest said, "Do you, Ethan Jace Relish, accept Zyrine Gabrielle Sallow as your wife?"

I stared straight into Zyrine's eyes and held her hand tightly, "I do."

She smiled like the sun and giggled.

The fake priest proceeded, "Do you, Zyrine Gabrielle Sallow, accept Ethan Jace Relish as your husband?"

She nodded gracefully, "I do."

"You are now husband and wife. Live happily. Ethan, you may now kiss the bride."

I moved my head around and saw that the people or should I say the fake staff for the fake wedding ceremony were all eyes on us, waiting for our kiss.

I smiled.

This wasn't true but it felt like it was.

I moved closer to her and heard soft screams and murmuring as if they were excited to see my next move.

I stared at Zyrine's innocent and captivating eyes. It was only a few inches away from her lips when I lifted my head and kissed her on her forehead instead.

The audience was mixed with a disappointed sigh and proud claps and smiles. I put my arm around her shoulders and guided her outside while wearing our wedding rings.
