Chapter 285: CHAPTER 285: I Can Only Repent
The other eight watched her back but left her alone as she really looked tired.
They were still curious at the undecisiveness she had shown for the very first time but they could only forget it for now since there are more pressing matters they needed to atend to.
And one of which was indeed purifying this land.
So her rest is the current top priority and not their curiosity.
"Hunter I remembered something," Nixon called making Hunter remove his look from Saphira's figure and look at him instead.
"I noticed that during the battle, you and Saphira had that momentary stop in your movements, as if something suddenly came up and all."
It was not normal for these two to be distracted that is why Nixon noticed it immediately especially since he entered the battle mid way.
"Well, we have seen another vision," he started.
The vision felt heart wrenching.
The lady or for all of them, Saphira's predecessor in light ability, was clutching her chest while she cried.
In front of her were the injured bodies of people, who seemed to be her companions at that time.
She was unhurt and another person was standing beside her.
Even without seeing the face, one could see that the said person was also devastated.
And the clothes of this person were tattered with remnants of blood in it, yet that person had no injuries at all.
"Could it be that the vision was actually a moment in the past where the predescessor had reached her limit?" Drake asked.
"It could be. As time goes on, we understood one thing about these scenes are connected to what the four of us feel."
Hunter was referring to himself, Qirin, Vermilion Bird and Saphira.
"With all of these information, isn't it pretty obvious just who Vermilion Bird's or Qirin's first host is?" Willow pointed out.
Hunter and Saphira have also thought about this.
He and Qirin had talked about it already and Saphira and Vermilion Bird must have as well.
There is only one posibility, one of Qirin and Vermilion Bird was actually the accompanying beast of Saphira's predecessor in the light ability.
As for who exactly, that is something they still don't know.
At the same time, the requirement for one to hold the light ability was still unknown.
One could say that it could be Vermilion Bird since he was Saphira's inborn beast but then who was Qirin's first host?
Why was that person removed from everyone's memories as well?
These mysteries couldn't be explained at this moment but surely one day they will be able to know of it.
"That is one of the clearest possibilities right now. But unless these identities would interfere with our current battle, we shouldn't think too deeply about it yet. They can only be some passing thoughts right now. We have more things to focus on," he said seriously.
"We know," the others agreed.
They were simply curious.

The underground was peaceful and quiet.
The sound of dropping water could even be heard.
The moist on earth indicates that there was a drizzle above ground.
But they were deep enough that water wasn't dripping too much.

Obvious discomfort was on their sleeping faces yet they are still sleeping deeply showing the exhaustion they are feeling.

Even against Samuel and Chester, it was more tiring.
The one who slept the earliest opened her eyes.
The other two ladies were beside her while the men were opposite them.
She slowly sat down and looked at the sleeping faces of her friends, then she quietly stood up and left.
Even Hunter was unable to feel her departure.
Saphira could feel the entrance through the light ability.
She easily located it and after understanding the mechanics of the entrance, she took a step outside.
Looking around, the surrounding was still wet.
"Are you planning on purifying the place now?" Vermilion Bird and Lily came out to ask.
"Since I can do it now, why not?" she replied.
"Then after this I can sleep again," she laughed.
"You are just trying to escape," Lily retorted.
Saphira glared at her white pouting her lips but her eyes showed different emotions.
"I really am just not yet ready," she still replied.
"Then when? Are you going to keep on keeping everything in?" Lily continued her nagging from before.
"No matter what the truth will still come. As for how things will go on after that. I can only repent over and over again towards them," she answered truthfully.
As she think about things by herself, she came up with the answer of losing their trust forever but even if she didn't want to.
And even if she went through that same scene twice due to her removing her own memories, that moment was still the most traumatizing for her.
She didn't even know if she'll ever become at peace with it.
No matter how easy going or jolly a person is, in theend one wouldn't know that they could be the most scarred.
Saphira walked a bit firther from the entrance before closing her eyes.
She allowed the light ability to flow through her body down to her feet and into the ground.
Back in the day where she was just testing things, just like in Alquira Empire.
She had lost all of her strength even turning pale and needing a whole night of rest, this time she was doing it without any difficulty.
Even the mana energy for the light pability seemed to have improved by leaps and bounds.
Even though the land they are at was quite big, she knew her energy will be lost, needing more rest but at the very least she won't fall sick or turn pale.
