Chapter 4: Bored evil

' I am nature. ' Raven thought. ' Like Klenk? He is the nature of light. '

His mind carried him to the page of the novel he had read. The page where the magic happened magic called Imagination. He experienced Lez awakening her third talent against the Ruler.

He read Klenk manipulate light to carry the battle. He experienced a world ending. How humans survived in the broken Hell.

Lez and Klenk confessed their love under the bloody moon. He read about them carrying children. Even amidst Hell, they created a family.

But before it carried him into the dream, the spirit shook him again. " Hey, do you want to know what nature you are? " She asked with her tiny voice.

Raven nodded. There is nothing to lose and perhaps he can use that nature like how Klenk manipulates light to attack demons. He felt excitement. For the first time, he felt hope.

The spirit chanted ancient words. Her hands glowed in bright green colour. She touched Raven's forehead. " Done. Check your status. "

Raven nodded. " Thank. "

He stared at the air and commended. "Status. "

Name - Raven Key

Age-18

Rank-F

Nature- Partial evil

Skill- Telekinesis ( 2℅), swordsman (-110℅).

Innate talent- Observe.

Condition- the curse of Fire ( Unable to move his right arm and can't use mana.)

" It says partial evil. " Raven said.

The spirit nodded her head, " Yep that is right. You are bored evil. "

Raven frowned. " Nobody was bored evil. Evil and goodness were made. They are forged under circumstances. " He explained his view.

" I don't know. That is what nature is. " The spirit replied.

" Well, so what does evil do? Can you tell me its benefits?" Raven looked for the good in his nature. Where he can use to become strong.

" What does evil do? Don't you know that? Evil destroyed. That it is. " The spirit said with half bored and half sloppy. "Oh. Bye. "

She disappeared as she came. Again he was left in the corner alone with his thoughts. ' Maybe because my role is the minor villain. Not fully evil. And looked at my swordsman it decreased. '

He sighed. ' I have no use. At least I met someone who talk to me. '

He began to study the formation. The first chapter and concept were hard to understand at first but as he flipped the page his understanding become deeper. Maybe it is due to his innate talent Observe.

The formation is the fundamental step to becoming a mage. It explained the nature of mana roads how they move and how they interact with matter.

The mage used mana to control the space and matter around them. So they need to have complete control and understanding of mana. The beginning of the formation was how to draw mana from the environment and use it.

It explained how to draw. Raven memorized them although his memory is not perfect. He can at least get a few theories and circles.

After he finished the basics, it was nearly lunchtime. He got up and placed the book in the respective shell.

He walked from the library and went to the eating hall. The eating hall is located on the ground level so it was not hard to find.

As he entered the tall, he noticed only a few students are eating. ' Great. '

He got close to the chief and ordered a meal. " Sir, what meal do you have? " He asked politely.

The chief looked at his rough clothes and thin body. He can tell that he was judging him. " You must be that noble. A Trash wanting to eat my food. " His loud voice echoed throughout the hall.

A chatter he heard from the groups of students die immediately. " Yes sir. " Raven said.

The chief grabbed steel now and put some rice and water. " Here. "

Raven nodded. ' I got something to eat without spending money. ' He thought of the good side ignoring all the unfair treatment.

Every student paid for the school including food as well. They eat delicious food cooked by fancy and five start worth of chief. Even commoners could eat those.

' Why? ' Raven asked. He grabbed the steel bowl. ' Why me? I didn't do anything wrong. '

He could only say those words in his heart. He thanked the chief and sat on the corner table. Rice and cold water were not a great combo.

After finishing the rice soup, he placed the bowl on the cleaning table and decided to head toward his room. He needed some rest. This night will be the same as well.

When he opened the door, he met a familiar face.

His second brother, Ed Key. Oh, technically he was no longer his brother. The moment he saw Raven's face his smile died.

Raven didn't dare to face him so he looked down and picked up his pace. " Hey, trash. "

The moment he walked past Ed, he felt a rough bow from his back. The bow was heavy enough to off his body balance.

Raven fall his face met the floor. Blood coming out from his nose, dripping on the floor. Ed made a disgusting look and kicked at his stomach.

" Trash. "

There was no reason to attack him. But what does the reason matter in the first place? Nobody helped him.

Raven covered his face with his arms. A kick to the face was more painful than one to the stomach. He thought he can live in pain but now he realised.

The pain was never meant to adapt. It will always hurt. Ed beat up a few good minutes. He finally stopped when his friends called him.

Ed left.

Raven who was laying on the floor get up with bruises covered face. He saw many eyes laughing. He didn't have the energy to feel or respond. He is simply done with it.

As he looked around, his gaze met Lez's. Her beautiful golden eyes were emotionless. Normally she will be the first to help in this kind of situation. But now she simply turned around to chat with her friends.

He can guess a few of them but it was a futile effort and pointless. Klenk was not here in the school yet so the bullying will happen.

Raven went back to his room, a small and lifeless room. He closed the door tightly and went to the corner.

There he falls asleep.

****

Waking up was the best part for Raven. The energy he lost and last night's fatigue all disappeared. He stretched some tense muscles.

He took out dry clothes and went to the bathroom. This castle has everything.

In the bathroom, he took a long and nice shower. He cleaned his wound with cold water. After all that he was clean and can call himself a decent human.

He looked at the sun through the window. There were no watches it clocks near him. He had to look at the sun.

' Afternoon, I suppose. About 3:00 pm. I got time to study in the library. '

He made his way to the library.

A loud yell came from outside. With curiosity, he looked down from the window. There were at least three hundred students.

They all trained the sword under the instructor. Some were doing basic exercises. A little far away from them was a group of mage casting spells.

All of them working hard. Look so innocent. Raven felt like crushing them like an ant.

He shook his head and laughed. Hitting his head, he walked toward the library.

This time he studied mana. The basic formation explained a little bit about mana.

The mana was raw. Humans can't use that raw mana, ether so they filtered ether as mana.

The process is done by mana core. The mana core strength is relatively equal to someone's rank. Raven had Rank- F core. A broken one.

Mana is a gentle energy which can manipulate matter around them. They can't use to manipulate logic or concept.

So the general idea is mana was used to fuel spells.

Ether is part of Raven's interest. Now that his mana core is broken he needs a new core. Holy Core is a great idea but those are only the priest can have that.

The demonic core is the same as they are born in the demon. So the only way for him to get stronger is to develop his core. The hard part is no one has ever done that before or in the future.

They have the same idea as him but all failed.

As he is studying mana, a clear plan to form the eye of the devil was born.

' Great. The attack is six months away now. I just need to endure the curse for about six months. Things will be alright. I will have both. Power and reputation. ' He closed the book and went to his room.

He closed the door and closed any airway to prevent leaking his scream. The sun will be gone soon.

He bites his clothes. After a few hours of sitting in the dark, the pain comes. Nothing special but it hurt doubled.

The pain grew along with his tolerance. He punched the floor. He used every means to stop the melting. He was alone in his pain.
