Chapter 1: Reincarnation
' I am done. ' Raven thought. He kneeled coughing black blood from his mouth. He was at the centre of the magic circle. He attempted to gain power from the underworld but failed.
Raven laughed. Driven by madness, he grabbed at his right arm unconsciously. The ugly scar. The scar he would never forgive. He can't move his right hand as the wound was permanent.
The madness was then replaced by anger. Raven cursed. " Fuck. "
He again tried to draw the magic circle. Trembling left hand moved across the floor. He was not a magician. He didn't have any mana so he used life force.
He drew until his bleed. He flinched. Death is coming. Raven can tell that his time is near. "Please, God. Just one. " He begged. " Please. "
The circle was completed but there was no activation again. This time he had no hope anymore. He could not feel anger or fear. He just simply defeated.
With a hollow gaze, he looked down at his arm covered in a burning scar. ' Curse you, Lez. ' He murmured.
His body lost control and dropped down. Blood dripping from his mouth, he was dead.
After a few hours, his body flinched. As if someone was shaking him. The constant movement of his limbs made him unnatural.
His eyes opened but they were not the same. They are not covered with dread or regret.
Raven looked around as if he found himself in unfamiliar situations. " Where I am? " He questioned.
The unfamiliar soul in Raven's body questioned, he thought about what he experienced before he woke up.
" Ah. I was arguing with some thug on the street. " Raven said.," I am pretty sure I shot him in the neck."
He scratched his head. Noticing blood on his hand, he felt disgusted. And then he noticed the ugly scar. " Whose body is it? "
He was in the middle of a shot out and some random shot him from the back. That's what he concluded his end. " A rather boring dead. I bet I will be in the newspaper for a week. " He chuckled.
He stood up from the floor only then he noticed the circle drawing on it. The circle was evil. He didn't know how to describe the feeling, it is pretty sinister.
He checked his body. That is the most important thing to do. You need to know your situation first and then check others.
Other than the blood-coloured shirt and pants, he found nothing ordinary. Of course, there is that ugly scar across his right arm.
He saw the mirror hanging beside the wall. " Perfect. " He said out loud.
He walked in front of the mirror. He took out his shirt. " Oh. The scar was much more than I suppose. " He thought the scar was only on his arms but it spread across his chest reaching his heart and stomach. Like a snakeskin.
" Gross. " Raven commented as he touched the scar.
Beside the mirror was the small desk, and the book was placed on it. Raven grabbed the book and flipped the page. He read the content quickly.
It was a diary. The thing written inside was disturbing to say. They were about suicide. The book was filled with depressing things. Like how his classmate was treating him like trash even though he does nothing.
His father tells him to die. Just awful things.
As he read more, Raven began to surprise.
" Magic. Sword. Guild. Academy. " Raven said softly. The strange unfamiliar and yet familiar words. Familiar because of the thing he read during his free time. The unfamiliar was no sane mind could write this in the diary.
As he closed the book, he finally looked at the cover.
" Raven Key. "
He looked around, and behind him were many books. He finally understood what happened.
" I am dead. "
Those words were not as shocking as they sound. He didn't feel anything but calm. Considering he experienced dead a few minutes ago.
But death made him calm. Not it was more than just calm.
" Seem like I reincarnated into the novel I am currently reading. And of all the people fate chose him. " Raven laughed.
He grabbed the chair beside the desk and sat. His mind wandered about the things he had read. ' First I need to know more about myself. '
He looked up at the air in front of him and called out. " Status. " He commended.

Condition- the curse of Fire ( Unable to move his right arm and can't use mana.)
A blue screen popped up. It revealed all the things Raven was supposed to see. He nodded at the screen.
' That does not surprise me that much. ' He cursed inwardly. ' Curse of fire. That much be what gave him the scar. Damn. Lez is so scary. I can't use mana and sword. She should have killed him why bother keeping him alive. '
Raven sighed. He blamed Lez.
How does he know her? He read the novel about an upcoming hero fighting in the war. That's the promise of the story but that shit was way long.
The Author spent hundreds of chapters on the Academy. Something Raven wanted to drop the book but because of the other suggestion he goes throw so much boredom.
He had to say it was worth it. The war was so satisfactory. Mainly because he had to read those main cast dying and despairing.
Raven chuckled in the small room. Others might see him as crazy.
Raven Key, was just a minor villain for the Academy arc. His purpose was to introduce the reader and the main characters Guild of Fire, the future band of heroes.
" What a silly name! "
' I have not to seen observe in Raven's innate talent before. Or it is my memory messing with me cause I read him using some innate during the encounter with Lez. It was Double. '
He looked at his scar again. " The story started a long time ago. The main cast has become strong enough to defeat Rank - C. And the main character, Lez, should be Rank - B. Damn, monsters. "
Raven felt chill. He was a power fantasy guy so he tent to read more about power and fight scenes. And this novel, or world has a great power system.
He sighed again. This time it was more like a defeat. " I will never be able to reach them even if I have a cheat like Lez. My Rank is F. And my core is destroyed. The only way to fix all is to pay the priest but they are way too expensive. "
" Should I just walk the path of the merchant? " Raven shook his head. " But with my current reputation, the business will be zero. "
As he was thinking about his plan, a sudden knock came on the door. A subtle but his ears picked up immediately.
" Coming. " He said.
Looking at the dry blood on his body, he sighed again. He walked toward the wooden closet and grab a large coat. Not fancy. There is nothing fancy about this room in the first place all covered in spider wet and dust.
He opened the door. A girl with a maid's dress entered his view. Her presence was a bit overwhelming.

Raven frowned. ' A maid high level. Did someone send her to kill me? I don't know anything about Raven expects he is the third son of the Flame Guild vice leader. '
Nevertheless, he composed himself.
The maid bowed to him almost revealing the tight breast. ' Seduce? '
" Master is calling you. " She said.
' His father. '
" Okay lead the way. " Raven didn't say any more as it would expose him. The maid guided him. They came across many beautiful portraits and architecture worthy of millions on Earth.
Raven was surprised. The houses were so grand and yet they chose to give him a shitty room. ' Not a nice family. ' He noted.
The maid stopped at the huge door. She stood beside the door. Her emotionless face was scary. Raven had not approached that kind of type in his life.
She didn't open the door for him so he had to help himself. He placed his hands on the door and pushed but it wasn't begging an inch. He applied extra strength but the situation was the same.
' It is a bit embarrassing. ' He glanced at the maid for help. She didn't move from her place, she simply stood.
' What a heartless monster. '
Raven pushed again. This time it moved. ' Horray. '
But soon he realized that it was not because of his strength. Someone was opening the door. Raven almost fell but he managed not to embarrass himself.
The young adult of age 20 was holding the door handle. His face was full of disgust as he looked at Raven.
' An older brother perhaps. ' Raven activated Observe.

" What are you gazing at, Loser? Come here. " Ed scolded Raven. His tone was full of anger and disgust.
Raven can tell if he is a good person to him or not. Apparently, this type is bad.
