Chapter 1: Moving Away
I was walking through the halls, one last time, with my head down. I've always done this when Kevin and Jake weren't around. They are both Alphas and my close friends, basically family, and I always have to keep them from biting each others heads off. Trinity, Sarah, Lexy, Gavin, and Jamie are all the Betas. Kevin and Jake both have Villainous Quirks but wanna be Hero's, and they will be. Jake has Nightmarish Illusions, this Quirk causes people who make direct contact with him suffer through their worst fears, while in this illusion the person's body will not move. Kevin has Decay, causes whatever he touches to turn to dust, unless they don't decay such as Twinkies and rubber, he wears rubber gloves all the time.
Sarah, Trinity, Lexy, Jamie, and Gavin are all nice and don't really care that our group leader is an Omega. Sarah has a Quirk that is called Silence, pretty self explanatory, say 'shhh' nd they do just that. Trinity wants to become a fashion designer and she has just the Quirk for it, her Quirk is called Threads, she is able to control any fabric and tread as long as she is able to control it. I actually think there is a Hero who has that exact Quirk. Lexy has a really uncommon Quirk, she sees and talks with the dead, can control the ghosts to do her bidding to, I call her Quirk Necromancer but I don't think that's the name. Gavin has the Quirk Bird Control/Bird Speech, it's whichever someone wants to call it. He is able to control any type of fowl, eagles, owls, falcons, canaries, etc., because of this people call him bird brain. Then last, but definitely not least, is my brother from another mother, Jamie, his Quirk is basically mind reading.
Then there was me, Jade Stag, Jay, the Omega, with a powerful Quirk. Oxygen. I can easily become a Hero as I can a Villian. I can also be a support Hero because I can stop bleeding, unless it's internal, or a normal Hero like my mom was, because I can cause actual damage, or a defense Hero, because I can create shields and such. I joke with my mom all the time that I will be all of those Heroes at the same time. I won't. To much work to be three Heroes at once.
Anyway back on track. Suddenly I feel a hand on my shoulder. I remeber hoping that it wasn't who it was. He always tormented me when Jake and Kevin weren't around. Casey. It was exactly who I didn't want. He was the one other Alpha in this school, there were three in total, he was so attament when we first met that he would mark me. Let's get this straight, I have never been in any relationship, like ever, and I believed that I would never be in a relationship. I promised myself I wouldn't ever be marked by anyone.
"Have you rethought your desition, bitch?" He asked with a smirk on his face. I just glare at him and respond in Japanese.
"Fuck off. Your not my type." That's all I said, I've been studying Japanese because I'm planning on moving there, and he was looking at me like I lost my mind, and I have, a long time ago. Suddenly Kevin appears behind me and glares at the blonde. Casey backed off and went back to his group of Beta friends. Kevin was giving off a deadly atmosphere that I could have sworn I could have cut through it with my pocket knife. "You better have on you gloves, Kevin." Is all I say as I turn around. He was just putting on his glove when I was completely turned. All I do is sigh. I don't know what to do with him sometimes.
Jake suddenly appears, well not suddenly but whatever, and looked at the one who had just gone back to his friends. "Did I miss anything? Was Casey causing issues again?" I just smirk at him and wave my hand, basically saying don't worry about it. I continue to first period with the two Alphas flanking me. Sometimes they are way to over protective, like brothers, but the Outcasts are a family of sorts. All my friends worried and cared for me despite me being an Omega. It felt refreshing.
I don't remember most of the day except lunch. All of the group decided that they would get me a good bye present and I'd get them good bye presents. We decided this at the beginning of the year, right after I decided to move right after we graduate. I scraped together money from doing odd jobs like babysitting and mowing yards. I was able to get everyone pretty decent gifts. Well anyway it was decided that on the last day we would give the gifts during lunch. Well Kevin got me a necklace with a knife on it, the knife was a beautiful blue color. Jake got me a shirt that had the name of my favorite band on it. Trinity got me a bracelet, she told me she didn't expect me to wear it. Sarah got me a book of her favorite series. Jamie got me some manga, said he had it memorized so he didn't need it no more. Lexy looked away and explained that she couldn't get me anything, I shrugged it off, I understood. And Gavin gave me a wrapped present and told me not to open it til I got a place.
After handing them their gifts, that I bought or made, the bell rang. Before I knew it the day was over, my friends were hugging me goodbye and telling me to text or call then. When I got home I packed my bags, ready to head out early in the morning, and went straight to bed, expecting to wake up early. The next day I arrived at the airport and did everything I needed to. The flight itself was long and tidious, especially with all the people who just stared at me, probably because of the collar that marked me as an Omega. I saw about three others that were also being stared at because of the collars around there neck. Finally we landed and I walked around town, trying to find the apartment complex that I found online, and foumd it. Sighing I go in and rent a room. I head upstairs and go to the small apartment. Next to my new home is another apartment that has the name Midorya and the name plague next to it.
Suddenly the door opens and a green haired teen with emerald eyes comes out. He also has a collar. I sigh in relief as I see this.
"Hey....can you help me?" I ask the green haired Omega. He jumps and looks at me. "I just need someone to hold this while I unlock my door...." I explain as I gesture to the door. I'm speaking ok Japanese so he should understand me. He nods and grabs one of the bags. "And don't worry. I'm not one to hurt others." I say smiling as I unlock the door. "Thanks." I bow to him in thanks and grab my bag. Bumping the door open with my hip I walk in. Nodding at me the boy continues doing whatever he was doing before I got his attention.
The apartment was pretty small. the living room and kitchen were back to back. The living room had a small, simple grey couch and a TV on a stand in front of it. The kitchen had a sink, counter, stove and oven, and a small island in the middle. Drawers and cabinets riddled the sides of the counters. there was a total of four doors. putting down my stuff next to the couch I open the door that is closest to the TV. It's a laundry room with a door on the other side. I guess I share this with my neighbors. Door number two was next to the kitchen and it was the bathroom. The next to doors were bedrooms, both had a dresser and a desk.
I unpack my pillow and blanket, throw them on the couch, and I grab my clothes, about fourteen changes worth, and put them on the bed in one of the rooms. Grabbing out the supresents and put them beside the TV so that I know where they are. Finally I grab Gavins gift. Unwrapping it I realize it's an eagle, hand made, and on the bottom it says 'Free to Fly.'
That was the one explicit detail I remember of that painting. It was what I'd tell my friends when they were down. "Your free to fly, like an eagle, so fly."
It would always make them feel better. It also made me smile when I saw that painting.
"Thanks Gavin. I will." I hear a gasp.
"Jade! Are you back?" The hand that has been holding mine tightens. I love this dork with all my heart but he is hurting my hand. "Jade please come back." I wanted to smile at him, but I can't.
Blackness consumes me like a hungry lion once again and a hear sobbing and the beaping of the heart monitor. At least I think that is what it is.
