Chapter 5: Ch. 5 Magic Recording

'Check the title's description.' Kai didn't immediately agree but chose to be careful and asked.
[The Bearer of Truth: A title given to those that possess the eyes that could recognize the truest of truth and the liest of lies.
Benefits: +25 stat points at all stats, Danger Perception (Legendary), Weak Point (Epic)]
Besides the plus 25 points at all of his stats, Kai has no idea what the other two abilities can do but he nonetheless, was happy.
After all who would reject a free plus stats points and abilities? Certainly not Kai.
Putting the two abilities aside, for now, Kai has more important things to solve,
'I need to get magic first.' Kai thought as he headed back to the spawning point with his grimoire in hand.
'It's hunting time.' Kai thought with a creepy smile plastered on his face.

'This wasn't here before, for sure.' Kai thought while staring at the players in front of him, or more specifically, at the floating blue screen above the said player.

'Amazing is this that player's status?'
'Though it's all basic information, knowing other players' race and magic is a huge advantage.' Kai immediately manages to comprehend the advantage given by his new ability as he can't help but be excited.
Planning to experiment more with his ability, Kai looked around, scanning the stats of the players in the area.
As he was currently at the spawning point, a lot of players in here are generally level 1 while some players managed to reach level 5 to 8, mind you it's only been a few hours since the game release.
For players who don't possess a powerful race or magic type, reaching level 10 is much harder.
Currently in the area, there are only three level 10 players excluding Kai himself, the others are busy grinding, dreaming of climbing the top and being the best in the game.
The All-Seeing-Eye is a god-given ability for Kai, using his eyes, Kai can know which player possesses which magic, making finding a suitable target for his 'Magic Recorder' easier.
Sitting by the bench on the side of the road, Kai silently observed the players in his surroundings taking special note of any magic that caught his attention.

Kai's grimoire, Magic Recorder currently only has ten pages and Kai didn't want to waste this slot for trash magic he will probably never use in the future.
Kai shook his head in disappointment as nothing of the magic present caught his attention, because of this, he chose to wander around the area, appreciating the detailed virtual reality game.
As he was walking through the busy streets, a player caught Kai's attention and the corner of his lips curled,
'Bingo' Kai thought, smiling as he found his first target.
[Illusion(☆☆☆)]
Not far away from Kai's location, stood a man performing various magic tricks, he is a part-time magician in the real world, and adding his illusion magic, he performs stunning tricks,
The man is wearing a black tuxedo partnered with a black and red cape and a black hat of the same color.
"Ok, ok, here comes another trick!" The magician shouted with great enthusiasm.
Holding his hat with his left hand, he uses his remaining hand to pull an umbrella inside it.
Amid his trick, he saw a hand suddenly grab the basket he placed on the ground which was full of in-game coins. This is where the crowd puts coins as payment for his tricks.
Because of the crowd, he didn't manage to see who the hand belonged and before he could even react, the basket was thrown in the air, scattering his hard-earned coins.
The crowd, surprised by the abrupt situation, joined the fray, scrambling among themselves trying to pick up whatever coins they could get.
"Hey, that's my money!" The magician protested trying to stop the players from picking up his coins but a hand suddenly grabbed him in the mouth, dragging him away from the crowd.
The magician tries to fight back but he only possesses a low star race and therefore has no chance against Kai's perverted stats as the magician was easily dragged by him.
Dragging the man into a dark alley, hidden from the unwanted eyes, Kai pinned the magician's face to the wall, so that he wouldn't see his face as he said,
"You'll do everything I tell you, you hear me?"
Scared, the magician nervously nodded, frightened by Kai's cold and threatening voice.
"What's your magic?"
"Why do you want to know?" The magician didn't answer but replied with another question, earning himself a slam to the wall, as the man wanted to scream but Kai swiftly covered his mouth.
"Just answer what I'm asking you!"
"Ah!, I-illusion Magic!" The magician hurriedly answered, horrified as he also noticed his health decreased due to having his head slammed into the stone wall.
"Good that's enough, you can sleep now." Was all Kai said before karate chopping the magician in the back of his neck.
With that said, Kai completed the two conditions he needed, holding the magician's hand with his left hand and his grimoire with his right, Kai touched them against each other making sure to trace the handprint in the grimoire.

'Finally!' Kai happily thought as, on the very first page of his grimoire, words emerged and the information about Illusion Magic was recorded within the book.
'I better get going.' Kai thought hearing a commotion not far from their location.
Activating the illusion magic, Kai blends in with his surroundings making him invisible.
Because the magician hasn't reached level 10 yet meaning he hasn't received a grimoire yet, the magic Kai copied is only the basic of Illusion Magic, being able to cast an illusion to himself, changing his appearance.
Walking past the crowd who can't see him, Kai heads toward the deeper part of the monster area, the grinding zone where the stronger monster resides.
