Chapter 26: Short Interaction

-

Six Hours Later

*AGGRESSIVE GASPS FOR AIR*

"Master! I finally got it!"

"Good! Finally! You're a true blacksmith now!"

*DING! Smithing Skill has been unlocked!*

"Let's go!!!!"

-

After master explained how humans worked, I caught the hang of it and after six hours, I finally unlocked the skill.

Humans work the same way dwarves do. Master gave me a skill book for me to learn, it was the "Mana Coat" skill. It maxed out instantly when I learned it.

"Mana Coat: A thin layer of mana that wraps around the users body. A rather weak skill, it is mostly used by blacksmiths and used to protect household pets."

That was what came up when I used my Vision skill on it. All I had to do was use 200 mana every hour to keep the mana coat going.

I also gained some strength levels since I hammered away at the sword. I'll check my stats later and see for myself.

As I sit back up, master already dragged me back to his work station.

"Come on! You wanted to learn how to cut those jewels you have as well right? I'll teach you that too since you're already here."

I sat down as soon as I heard him say that.

"Yeah! You also said that you'll introduce me to a Rune Master too."

"Yeah, yeah. Come on boy."

I had asked him what the glowing symbols on his hammer meant and apparently they are enchantments that were written onto the hammer by a rune master. Those particular scribbles made the hammer lighter so that he could swing it harder. It also reduced the user's stamina usage so that they can keep swinging for longer.

When I heard that, I asked him to teach me but he said he wasn't great as a rune master. However, he knew someone that lived in the capital, so, he said that he would introduce me later to them.

-

Three hours later.

"Ah... fuck, I'm so tired."

After Master Ark taught me everything, he told me to rest. I didn't want to but he insisted and so I did.

"Master?"

I look around and saw that the room was empty, no lights were on. I walk around the building and it was completely empty. I rush back to the room I slept in and looked around. That was when I saw a letter and a sigil on the table. The letter read.

"Young man. I have to thank you for becoming my student. Now that I have taught someone my own personal techniques, I feel at ease. Do not bother to look for me, you know my past right? I plan to return to the Demon Continent and train my fighting skills. Once that's done, I plan to hunt down that traitor of a general and hopefully my grandparents can finally rest well. Now that my techniques are yours, stay alive for me will ya? That way my smithing legacy can live through you. Also, what you have there is my own personal sigil. It's my royal sigil. If you take that to the human capital and look for Master Nes Van, she will teach you how to become a rune master.

P.S. I took a bag of your gems, one of the mithril swords and 1 bone fragment of the elder dragon from you. You got drunk and gave it to me after we finished earlier. I'll make good use of it. TEEHEE!"

I couldn't help but laugh. That fucken dwarf bastard haha! It looks like he accepted those expensive gifts without even batting an eye.

I then remember something and I check my quests.

"I guess I might see him again."

The quest that had me work with Master Ark was still there. That must mean that I can still work with him in the future. I guess if our paths cross once again, I will travel with him.

I grab the sigil and left the building. I walk around and find a safe place to log out.

-

"AHHHHHH!"

I let out a war cry as I get off the game and stretch in my bed. It felt great.

I feel my stomach grumble so I get up and go downstairs.

As I do this, I pull out my phone.

"Oh, it's 10. I guess I should be more careful."

Anna also texted me. Apparently she came over and picked up Clem. There was a winter storm warning and most schools planned to be closed for the next week or two. So she plans to hangout with Clem tomorrow and then after that they're going to play the game together. I replied back and also gave her my character information.

Once I reached the kitchen, I warmed up the food mom made earlier and sat down. I pulled up my phone and watched any videos I could find on DreamScape.

"And at number 1, the player's name is Romeo! This guy was the first person to complete a 'Forgotten' quest! Even now, no one knows what that means or even what his reward was! The player base...."

Shit, I forgot all about that. I hope the girls will be okay... I did have them go do a 'Forgotten' quest as well. I hope it doesn't bring them any issues.

As I scroll through my phone, I hear heavy panting coming towards me. I looked up and saw my dad walk in... half naked... don't tell me...

"Did you hear us? Oh never mind. I thought you and Clem were both out."

"Aha... I'm glad you and mom still love each other."

Dad chuckles, grabs a beer and sits down. He leans over and looks at my phone.

"Is that a game? I hope you'll still focus on your school work."

"Yeah it is..."

Even though it's been two days since I went back, I'm still not use to seeing dad smile. Like genuinely smile. I've grown use to the sad and depressed man he had became.

"Huh? What's wrong? You look kind of pale."

Dad reaches out and touched my forehead.

"Hmmm. No fever. You should probably go sleep soon."

He gets up and grabs a bottle of pain killers.

"Take two after you eat. Make sure to go straight to bed and rest. I have to go back up stairs and see your mother!"

Before he got far, I called out to him.

"Wait dad! Can I tell you something?"

Dad POV

(A/N: I will give him and his wife a name eventually.)

'What if I told you that something will happen. Something so big that it's world changing? Would you believe me? I... forget it. Goodnight dad.'

I thought of what Roman said as I went back upstairs. I couldn't help but feel a bit of worry.

He's reaching that age where your confused about yourself. You don't know if the path you chose is the right one. Because of this, to some people, it feels like the world you knew was ending.

The way he spoke. It was rather ominous. I hope he's taking care of himself, both mentally and physically. Wifey said he seemed a bit down the last few days. Maybe I should take him out somewhere.

Before I could really think more about it, I was already in front of my room. I opened the door and there she was, my sexy wife.

"Come on honey, let's go for another round."

She spoke seductively and revealed a bit of her legs.

HOT DAMN THIS WOMAN KNOWS ME.

I was already naked before the door behind me closed all the way.
