Chapter 30: Re Ch 29
"Miss Lanruo, what did he do to you?" Xue Yin asked curiously.
Huyan Lanruo avoided eye contact. Despite how bold she was, she was not going to admit it.
Jason spoke, fulfilling Xue Yin's curiosity. "Nothing much. I just spanked her a few times for punishment."
"Few times? You liar! You almost broke my butt." Huyan Lanruo shouted. But just after that, her face turned red in shame.
Xue Yin's face also turned with a little shade of red. She had never thought that Jason would do something bold like that to the seductress.
'Huyan Lanruo was the only child of Huyan Xiong, the Patriarch of the noble Huyan family. Despite how she behaved, she was a spoiled child, pampered by her father. If he learned about this incident then...'
Xue Yin felt a headache coming just by thinking about it.
"Miss Xue Yin, you must punish him. You should just fire him." Huyan Lanruo couldn't take her loss and shouted.
Xue Yin was startled by her request. How could she fire him, a grandmaster-level inscription master? Let alone her even if Huyan Xiong had said that, she would have still refused.
"Shut your trap or do you want some more spanks." Jason raised his hand, scaring her as she ducked behind Xue Yin. "Rather than wasting your time and energy on such meaningless things why don't you do something productive for once? If I ever saw you messing around with others especially using your demon spirit on others then hmph... I'll teach you a lesson on the spot."
"So what if you're from a proficient family? If a victim of yours resorts to extreme methods to teach you a lesson, then you can only cry at that time. This little punishment of mine will save you from trouble... Being playful is not a bad thing but you should have some limit, a line where you should stop. But you just kept on going and going, do you ever think what would happen to your family if something were to happen to you? They had raised you with so much love so before pulling stunts at least think about them for once. Your father is such a reputable man in the Glory City but he didn't get that in inheritance, he had spent many efforts to make his own image. He is called the City Lord's right-hand man. Do you know how much trouble he had to go through for that? He gives you a great life so you should feel ashamed of yourself for causing trouble for him."
Walking over to her, he patted her head. "I'm not sorry for my actions so don't ever expect an apology. But I'll give these pills to you for free of cost. So stop crying like a little girl. Since you're the miss of the Huyan family, then you're responsible for carrying the weight of your surname. Always keep this lesson in mind and remember, you can't just go and mess around with complete strangers. If it was a person with bad intentions in my place, he would have ravaged you with no one to stop. So, first, understand a person's character before making such reckless moves, okay?"
Huyan Lanruo felt a weird warmness in her and nodded her head. Wiping away her tears, she said. "You talk like my old man. Are you sure that you're younger than me or not an old man in disguise?"
Jason and Xue Yin shook their head with a smile.
After a few more words, she paid the money and left with the scrolls, not as bold as she was when she arrived but still having her unique aura around her.
"Little brother is really wise beyond his age." Xue Yin said with a smile. "Maybe only you would dare to punish that seductress in the entire city."
"You even gave her pills as an apology."
Jason sighed, "She is way too annoying. I just hope she will not come seeking trouble again. As for the pills, they are just some high-grade ones that I made in my early years, totally a waste for me."
Hearing him speaking it so suavely, Xue Yin's face twitched. 'Only you can call a high-grade pill a waste in the entire Glory City, Little brother.'
Sigh!
She sighed, shaking her head.
"Hahaha... Young Master Nie Li has such a unique character making us look at you in a new light."
Ye Zong appeared in the Inscription Association with Ye Shuo.
"What new light? She is just a little young for my taste." Jason was bold, not feeling embarrassed.
Hearing his words caused everyone in the place to halt their movements, their faces twitching.
'Young? Do you look at yourself? You are even younger than her. Just what weird taste do you have?'
Jason ignored their reactions. "What brings you here so late?"
Ye Zong rubbed the back of his head and said slowly. "Well, I listened to your lecture through my daughter's words..."
"And?" Jason raised an eyebrow at him, signaling him to get to the point already.
Ye Zong took a deep breath and said quickly. "I hope you can give me some pointers to improve my strength."
"Oh," Jason nodded his head before asking. "I can but what will I gain from it?"
"What do you want?" Ye Zong asked directly.
Prepared already, Jason stated his conditions. "I heard there are many treasures in the City Lord's treasury. I want to take a look inside and also there is something important I want you to do..."
"Well, your first condition is not a problem. The treasures are only lying down, rusting off in the treasury with no one to know how to use them. You can take anything you like." Ye Zong agreed, speaking frankly. "But for your second request, it's a little problematic. Why do you want to make such an absurd rule of marrying a girl only at the age of 16 and above."
It was natural for him to be puzzled because, in Glory City, most of the girls were married off either at 12 or at 14 at most. So his request was quite mind-boggling.
Jason didn't find it weird and said. "Because I think it is putting quite some pressure on the minds of the young girls, causing damage to their health. You should know that 12-16 are tender ages. It can also be called a rebellious phase of youngsters where they need the emotional support of their parents. But at that age, you give your child to another person who god knows how will treat them. I can see that children in the city are maturing quite early due to the teachings of their elders or the threat from demon beasts. But I still think it's best to give them some time to enjoy their childhood. The age of 17-18 is the point where a child finally starts to realize the responsibility he/she has to carry, letting them mature and reach the point where they can finally stand up on their own and can also shoulder the responsibility of someone else."
